So a few days ago (probably about 10) my "co worker" asked why my truck was sitting out there not being driven. I told him the whole story (not important to this story) and he asked how my spark plugs looked. I said they looked ok to me, but I didn't get anyone's opinion on it. He asked if he could pull one and look, I said sure, why not.

Well today I was sweeping up in the front of the store and I found my spark plug he pulled in a pile of dirt :banghead:banghead:banghead

It's been very humid here, it's rained 3 times since he did that, and the spark plug hole has been open to the elements. He put the plug boot over the hole but obviously that's not a seal.

Should I be worried about water collecting in one of my cylinders?

Hood was closed right? If it was me, and the hood was closed, I wouldnt worry about it... I would think any minor amount of condensation (if any) would burn off upon start up...

Yes, and it was on flat land, I looked at it after last nights storm and it was dry under there, just didn't know if the whole humidity thing would play a role.

Nah, I think you are fine. Maybe put a plug back in it if you havent just to "button it up" but I wouldnt be concerned about it since it was under the hood and especially with the boot over the top. The miniscule amount that "may" collect shouldnt cause any issues.... now if the hood were up and it was pouring out.... that may be cause for concern!!!

Not that it matters but...
1: why in the world did the dude want to pull one of your plugs in the first place?

2: what kind of a-hole pulls a spark plug out of someone else's ride, looks at it and tosses it on the ground? guess it's a good think he didn't want to look at your lug nuts huh?

3: be glad the dillweed didn't put it in the dirt and then back in the engine.

4: Man, I would be pissed!!

He's a f*ckin' douche, I shouldn't have let him near it, but I figure he may know what to look for, he's somewhat knowledgeable about that kind of stuff. But mostly he's a f*ckin' douche. He's 65 years old, so he probably forgot what he did earlier that day :banghead

This moist spring weather blowing through lately has really caused a LOT of problems for a LOT of people, let alone problems with their vehicles. Hell, even MY rig has had problems. Not only did my MSD box crap out, but the spark plug wires (only a year and a half old) couldn't handle the damp. I've helped about four or five people get their shit started just by drying off the wires a little.

I'll tell you something that shocked the hell outta me today. I was going to custom fit this set of Autolite spark plug wires to my rig. They needed to be shortened because they're cut for a SBC, not a GT40P'd 5.8L Ford. :toothless But, they're the only thing you can get a 90-degree boot on both ends for. No biggie, I've made wires before without a problem. ANYHOO, I went ahead and popped the hood, and it looked like someone had thrown a bucket of water all over the driver's side of the engine. Everything was wet! This was the upwind side, I suppose, from the storm that blew through; my truck was WELL under a car port, so it's not like water was blowing in from above or something. Needless to say, with old plug wires, I can now appreciate why it was having some problems! I'd never seen moisture like that before in my life. Guess I should wash the engine bay more often.

I got her running (had to move it so they could dig out our ditch) so apparently nothin' was in there :toothless
