what ya guys think about this?
hub shattered
tcase bolts rusted out and he went to change em and they snapped
got detroit locker rear
4.56s
wants to trade me straight up for my f250
said the floor is fine and the underbody looks ok. no major rusting.
El Kabong 05-17-2008, 10:20 PM Are those the bolts from the t-case to the trans, or the ones holding the halves together? It seems hard to believe that the only bad rust was on those bolts. Can you go see it for yourself?
94 one ton 05-17-2008, 10:23 PM the ones from the t case to the adapter. he is willing to trailer it to my house. really im at a win win. i have a complete good drivetrain. so if all i have to do is drop the tcase and swap parts im fine with that. i more than anything need the rust free body if it truly is.
broncomania 05-17-2008, 10:28 PM hard to answer you without knowing anything about your truck or seeing pics of your truck.
looks like a potential bronco . is your truck worth $1,500.00 cause thats what the bronco is selling for . OBO.
94 one ton 05-17-2008, 10:37 PM umm i paid 800 for it and i was tryn to see 1200. theres the thing. he was tryn to sell it to buy my truck. i didnt know this and he didnt know it was me until he mentioned he was lookin at a 250. he was willing to pay me 1400 for the 250. so it must be worth it to him atleast i wouldnt pay 1400 for it. i just started high. my 250 needs body work. its rusty. and it need powersteering box seals other than that its in good shape
MalibuBronco 05-17-2008, 11:03 PM Go for it!!!!
Dustball 05-17-2008, 11:10 PM If it comes down to it, unbolt the t-case adapter from the transmission and replace just that piece.
A1Fiddler 05-18-2008, 01:19 AM You might want to have someone check out the straightness of the frame. Considering all the apparently-replaced body parts, it might be damaged.
94 one ton 05-18-2008, 02:48 AM well thats just it. its really only the body im after. being a 96 will it be obd2? i thought that was the year
Looks like a Rubiks cube.
94 one ton 05-18-2008, 03:04 AM yea my step dad knows a guy who can do some paint for me relatively cheap. so not to worried about that.
94 one ton 05-18-2008, 03:06 AM will i have to replace that whole assembly? for the hub? im a little lost about what might have broke.
stan the man 05-18-2008, 03:35 AM The hub will be under $100 to replace. Looks like a good truck depending on what you want to do with it. Post up some pictures of your f250 so we can see. What front end does your truck have, because that could change a lot of things. 1996 has OBII, which is both good and bad. More electronics to control stuff = good in a way, but there are more things that could go wrong (like sensors). I would give him $800 cash for it, but thats just me.
94 one ton 05-18-2008, 11:26 AM witch front end are we talkn about? i have a 94 sme body lines. or are you talkn about the 76 high boy?
Need4racin 05-18-2008, 02:28 PM 96 is a good year for the 351.
should be MAF and roller ready block.
Might even have a roller cam in it, gotta tear it apart to find out.
94 one ton 05-18-2008, 10:54 PM i only had one incounter with a 351 and it really sucked. it was a 92 and my 94 302 ran circles around it. not only in a light to light sence but in a literal sence. it wouldnt idle down. it had blowby like none other, it wouldnt stay running, and could never get the timing to stay.
Need4racin 05-19-2008, 01:02 AM i only had one incounter with a 351 and it really sucked. it was a 92 and my 94 302 ran circles around it. not only in a light to light sence but in a literal sence. it wouldnt idle down. it had blowby like none other, it wouldnt stay running, and could never get the timing to stay.
That could happen on any motor. Bad comparison.
94 one ton 05-19-2008, 09:13 AM yes i have also talked to people that have had alot of problems with them. my bronco only had 80 thousand when that hapened. im not sayn all are like that just the experiance i have had.
94 one ton 05-20-2008, 09:28 AM well now it comes out. he was at skool and the tcase bolts were loose so he went to tighten them and they snapped. only 2 snapped. think i could drive it home with the rest in there? id be taking iteasy and no freeway
Need4racin 05-20-2008, 02:14 PM make him drop the price or compensate

What do you mean "now it comes out"? Your first post said-
tcase bolts rusted out and he went to change em and they snapped
Your second post said-
the ones from the t case to the adapter. he is willing to trailer it to my house. really im at a win win. i have a complete good drivetrain. so if all i have to do is drop the tcase and swap parts im fine with that.
