I finally redid the lower coil mounts on my bronco. I never really liked the way I did them when I swapped in the D60 back in 04. Then after the whole hemi thing a while back I worked up the motivation to get out and rebuild the mounts. These are what I had.

As you can see it was made out of square tube.:smilie_slapI didn't have them for lift, it was to level out the lower spring cup (there tapered) and also to give the cup more support because they were bending. It worked fine, but it's one of those things that nag's at you.
This is what I came up with.

When I put in the 60 I used spacers for my radius arm caps. Originally I used two pieces of 1/4" plate for the spacers. This time I had some 1/2" plate, I welded the the spacer to a round plate for the cup to sit on. I also welded in a couple bolts for studs and added a piece on the back to help support the cup and mount the brake line bracket to. Here's some more pics

Here it is at almost full droop.

and at ride hieght.

I dont have the u-bolts on the top of the coils and they still look pretty straight. Very little bow, I'll probably put the u-bolts back on anyway.

I actually ended up lowering the front about a inch or so.

Now I just need to get the damn thing out on the trail.:doh0715:

Looks a lot better. I like that you don't have to screw the bolts into the radius arm and cap. That is a big pain in the ass.

yeah the studs instead of bolts makes it alot easier, I just use a long extension and socket.

What size bolts did you use for the studs? If it were myself I would have used something bigger and drilled out the coil cups to match.

I used 7/16 grade 8 bolts. There the same size as stock, which has held up fine for years so I didn't see a need to go any larger.

Looks good Brian! Funny that you did this right now. I'm getting ready to tear into mine. The shims I made for mine were not nears as big in diameter as the actual coil cup and the result is I keep bending the coil cups.:doh0715:
