What is everyones preferred RPM range for highway cruising, or even just poking around town? I have always just selected as low a gear as i thought i could without bogging it, the bronco seldom revs past 2000rpm if i am just going along. The closer it gets to 2500rpm the more car alarms i set off...

Yet, it seems to me like a lot of people with sticks actually PREFER to run there engines in the 2000rpm range minimum. Wont that use more fuel, and create more engine wear?

Just one of those things I have always wondered about but never bothered to ask..

Thanks,

SM

My Sami loves the 4200 to 6K range.

I usually run mine in drive in the hills which is about 2300 rpms. But on the flat highway in OD, i usually run about 1200-1400 rpms.
