I finished a trip through the Ouray area yesterday and was impressed with the number of trails I saw listed on a local map.

Anybody here ever taken some of these trails to mining camps/abandonded mines and care to share your experiences?

I plan to return in the fall with a suitable vehicle...the Bronco.... and run a trail or two. Currently the locals told me most of the trails are still closed due to snow accumulation.

its a great area. you can be there a week for wheelin and not cover all the trails. I love that area and wish gas wasn't so much so i could get back down there.

Did my learning down there when I lived in Durango. I would never get board wheeeling them parts. There is a real good map called something like San Jaun Jeep trails.
