So yesterday I was trying to figure out the rough idle and what not. I figured it out. I was running on all 7 cylinders :banghead I did a compression test and got a big 0 on #7. Oh shit. Hoping for a thrown rod I took the valve cover off and found this.

I must have left the arm to loose. It was holding the exhaust valve open. Anyway I got a new rod and put her back together. Started her up, much better. :chili: Idles great now. I took it out for 20min test drive and the throttle is real responsive. But it's dangerous to drive around town. I stop at a stop sign and she doesn't like it. She just wants to go. She will go up to 2000RPM so I have to throw her in Neutral. When the light turns grean, slam it into drive and she's gone. I don't even need to touch the gas. I can do 30+MPH without my foot on the gas. Anyway I am getting closer and will try to work out those issues tomorrow. The throttle linkage is most likely sticking as I had to rout it in a strange way. I will hopefully have a bunch of pics of the rebuild on My Superford Page (http://www.superford.org/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=1339) in the next week or two. Maybe even a writeup :goodfinge

Thanks. Still loud as all hell though. Driving down the highway at 2500 sounds like a machine gun. I think I was scaring people :goodfinge

Trust me, the exhaust is bad news for a lot more than just high schoolers

If you have a cranky wife, bad news
Lots of elderly people on your block, bad news
Picky police, bad news

A lot of the stuff I do, I don't need any extra help being noticed :D
Exhaust is just another "hey-look-at-me" - "I'm-doing-something-illegal"
