That's tow hook is a really good idea. I like to have somewhere to hook on the tow strap when them Chevys are stuck. :goodfinge

I like the K5's, but the lines of the Bronco are nicer. Bronco's just don't look quite as square.

But what I want to know is, ......

How many axles has that Blazer gone through (front and rear), and how many spares do you have sittin' at the house?

Looks pretty cool except for the Dukes of Hazzard wheels

If I knew then what I know now I probably woulda started with a K5

The front and rear axles are out of a 1975 half ton and are a stronger setup than the later style So far the front axle hasn't given me any problems yet. But I have snapped a couple of pinions off the rear. I have a D-60 for the front and a one ton corp. for the rear when I get time to throw them in. I would like to wear these tires out before I go to a different size wheel though. :brownbag

If you take year for year, I still like the blazer better. I like the squared off lines it looks more tuff. On the negative year for year, the blazeer is a good 4-6 inches wider than the bronco which means more damage on the tight trials.

Last year Don with his 79? bronco, and Bert with his 78? step side, front clip the same size as a blazer, we had to use a winch strap up and over the hood to hold the quarter panels on the chevy after running the Dusy Ershim. The only thing Bert did not dent was the tail gate. But he was cool about it.

Lucky for me that the newer chevys are 3-4 inches more narrow than the broncos :thumbup

Don had all the good pics of that. DON?

really!!!??? you mean the 12bolt is strong enough to move more than just a 35" tire??

lol on a friendlier note nice truck, what do you pack for spares? you must eat through them like they are gas (miles per axle) well with the locked 39s that is.

It's tall enough that you don't have to lay on your back to find the oil leaks. :goodfinge

Looks goods I had a 79 K5 Trailer special. Built 350, th350(hit second gear hard enough to chirp 33's). I liked it, but it didn't wheel as good as any Bronco I've had. It's the only thing that I've taken wheeling that didn't leave under it's own power. If I could find a decent one I would buy a 72 or 73-75 for summer driving and light trails.

I appreiceate the compliments. Once again I say its nice to find a site where everyone likes to have a good time instead of seriously rippin on each other and talkin about what a piece of crap someone else's rig might be. :thumbup

And as far as who gets stuck, If you ain't been stuck, you ain't really wheelin it. :chili:
But I am tired of phone calls at three in the morning to come and pull some Ford out of the mud.

Oh I have snapped a couple of pinions. But thats about it. Its mostly U-joints that let loose. you know the one, its the same one you Bronco has in it.
:banghead
But I don't go doing burn-outs on the asphalt either. I do have my right foot under control (most of the time ).
