It's kinda hard to explain, but when I'm taking a long left curve in the road, above 35mph, it feels like my passenger front tire is wobbling. Could this have anything to do with my third member being out?

Check to make sure the spindle nuts are tight. gators0204 02-27-2003, 03:54 PM check the lugs too cultex 02-27-2003, 03:57 PM Thanks, I'll check it out. BoulderBronco 02-27-2003, 04:15 PM Sounds like it could be dangerous. Do what they said. Check all the bolts and lugs. pat 02-27-2003, 04:19 PM jack up the tire that you think is wobbling, then move it up and down, back and forth, pull it out push it in. if it moves all around like that then you need need bearings. Damager 02-27-2003, 04:21 PM ALSO be sure to recheck and tighten EVERYTHING that was associated with installing the lift!!! .. gotta do that like 500 miles after install :!: Davids78Bronco 02-27-2003, 04:45 PM jack up the tire that you think is wobbling, then move it up and down, back and forth, pull it out push it in. if it moves all around like that then you need need bearings. There are more possibilities than just bearings 94_chickentaco 02-27-2003, 05:17 PM I swore my bearings were loose, nope. It was my TTB drop down bracket for my lift. All 3 bolts, (the one big one, 3 little ones) were all finger tight. Then, i proceeded to tighten the hell out of everything on the bottom of my rig. I found out by jacking up the passenger side and really trying to move the tire, eventually i saw it wigglin. good luck taco gearrat 02-27-2003, 06:22 PM well joey all i can say is double check everything yoiuhave done on the trruck like has been said before and also check yoiur ball joints cultex 02-27-2003, 06:25 PM Will do, I got some time off tomorrow that I can re-check the front-end. BadBoysBronco 02-27-2003, 06:37 PM Will do, I got some time off tomorrow that I can re-check the front-end. Please don't drive it until you check everything! dblue351 02-27-2003, 11:56 PM just make sure everything is tight. The c3rd member being out has nothing to do with it. I got out the shop lights and went to work. Some of the bolts were loose, but none were finger loose. I tightened every possible nut and bolt I could find. The tire didn't woble when I put it on the jack and it didn't woble afterwords. All the lug nuts are fine, and it still wobles on the turns. I'm gonna pull the whole thing apart tomarrow and look around some more. I'll keep you guys posted. Damager 02-28-2003, 07:54 AM yeah, keep us informed and good luck :!: 94_chickentaco 02-28-2003, 11:30 AM I would also rotate your tire and see if the trouble follows the tire. My tie-rod ends used to die quickly, until i did the supersteering with the MOOG tie rod ends. cultex 02-28-2003, 09:20 PM So I went under it first thing this morning and tightned every bolt that I had a socket for. Took about 2 hours. I then rotated the tires to make sure it wasn't off balance or anything. Took it out on the road and it was fine. Took it to the same spot it first started wobbling, and nothing. All the bolts were a little loose, maybe 3/4 turn, but not much more than that. Thanks for the help and advice! gearrat 03-01-2003, 12:41 AM hey joey thats great to hear that you got the problem fixxed and are back up and running at full speed :D |
