Howdy guys. Name is Brent, Im a Firefighter/EMT from Columbus, Tx. I own a 1979 Ford Bronco Custom. It has a 351M/9" rear/ Dana 44 front and is pretty much stock from what I know. Motor was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago and tranny was rebuilt about 10,000miles ago. It is in need of some metal work on the roof and front of the hood. My dad bought this bronco about 6 years ago and when we first got it it looked to be in pretty good shape. It had just recieved a fresh paint job. Well a couple years later rust and poor bondo work started showing its ugly face. So now i am in the process of making her look good again. I dont have any better pics of the bronco on this computer so for now this will have to do.

I have come here looking for any help I can get during this project. So whatever advice you can give me would be great!

haha well..........if downgrading to something slower with worse gas mileage was what I was into I would probably do that! haha:histerica
Im happy with my little 390hp/380tq stock bottom end, stock headed, cammin daily driver. Oh.......and the 22.4MPG isnt too shabby either. :popc1:
Funny thing is.........before I bought this LS1 Z28 I was a die hard ford guy. Myself and my family have never owned anything other than ford. Hell I used to argue about how much better a GT was than a Z28.........until I bought this one. Ford definately has a superior drivetrain.........but GM did something right with this "LSX" family of engines.......and ford is nowhere close in that aspect.

thanks for all the welcomes guys! I really like this bronco. I drove it all through high school and my dad daily drove it for a couple years too.
Im really wanting to restore this bronco (atleast partially restore it) for my dad. This is his toy and he has wanted it for a long time.

Yeah I am with ya on the old diehard ford GT man.....I never ridden a GM Fbody untill I got my 95 Z.....Man oh man was I wrong, this thing took off like lightning with just bolt ons:rockon I am not biased anymore to anything. I have owned a dodge(06 3500 Diesel) I owned a 04 Subaru sti traded it in on a 06 Mustang GT 5 spd(had 4.10s and dyno tuned and still couldnt keep up with the Z28) and I drive a Ford F450 everyday to and for work.....I like all vehicle makes and models but the FBODY series can eat the mustangs lunch thats for sure, stock VS. stock that is( unless they tape into Forced Induction or start replacing heads)
