The best and most abundant places in Va is the George Washington National Forest. Just about the entire western section of the state has trails in the GWNF. www.fs.fed.us/r8/gwj/index.shtml Where do you live or willing to travel to? joeskyline06 08-28-2008, 11:34 AM i live in roanoke, i can drive a little ways. but i need to find someone to go with too because like i said before i am working with a stock truck the olny good thing it has is the new tanny and new tires. va92bronco 08-28-2008, 11:56 AM Eastern Divide District is all around you. I have never been down that way, so I can't say for sure where to go. Here is the ranger district page: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/gwj/easterndivide/recreation/ohv/index.shtml Here is a map of all the trails in the GWNF: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/gwj/maps_brochures/mvum.shtml I would call the ranger office and ask if he knows some trails that are good for light wheeling. You could also get some other maps and just explore. Right now my favorite spots are near Harrisonburg. dsotmoon 08-30-2008, 11:52 PM i live in roanoke, i can drive a little ways. but i need to find someone to go with too because like i said before i am working with a stock truck the olny good thing it has is the new tanny and new tires. the closest places would probably be in craig co, broad run, lignite, potts mtn, etc starcity 09-01-2008, 08:24 PM Send me PM if want to try to go somewhere close sometime. last time i went out i went down to Ferrum which is about 1hr or so from rke. SlickMick 09-07-2008, 08:54 PM I live in Buchanan, which is about 30 mins. from Roanoke. cjsander322 09-09-2008, 09:40 PM I live in Loudoun which is I guess a few hours elmo_4_vt 09-10-2008, 12:26 AM I always used to go up on the forest service roads up rt 460 past blacksburg when I was down at Tech. There are always nice places to go around there for a stocker. Don - |
