Ok I know these are stupid questions but any help is apreciated.
As I understand it my Bronco has a D44. I am planning for now buying a 4" lift and running 35s. A body lift or fender modifications will be done if needed. But i was wondering if the gears I put in 4.56 more than likely will fit in any of the D44s commonly used in an SAS. I am thinking that may be a possibility in the future and am thinking if a say locker wasn't swapable I might hold out on that till I make my final decidion. Thanks for any help and again I apologize for the stupid questions.

right, the D44 carrier in your TTB can be used in the solid axle D44

Ahh thank you kindly. That makes me feel much better. Looks like the front will be getting a locker then when the lift is installed. Waiting on the rear till more money is available.

Just decided if you want to re gear, like EVER, D44 need differeft carriers (lockers) for gear set 2.73-3.92, and one for 3.92-5.89) so you woulnd want to re gear to at least 4.11's so you can use your locker if you do a SAS and want to re gear that

I got mine at 4wheel parts, so you should be able to get one anywhere.

You can also go to a wrecking yard and find one.

I should have an open carrier for 4.10s available soon.
Also, wheel bearings and rotors/hubs and warn hubs are all interchangeable too. :P

Hmm so is this carrier different for every gear ratio? Or is it universal? meaninv would the same one work on 4.56 and 4.88?

3.92 is the cut off. So 3.92 and up (numerically) will work for any gears. Yes mine would work for you. BUT, if you are in a big hurry, I think I saw some on ebay the other day. Just search dana 44, I think I saw a few.

Umm so would I just look for a stock bronco with 4.10s?

Just look for any Dana 44 with 3.92's or numericly higher. Check chevy's jeeps, doges, 4wheel drive go-carts whatever you can find a D44 on.
