The laid back brackets I had made worked out awesome, it left a really good angle. Check it out under sas pics if you are interested

SuperDave 04-14-2003, 03:52 AM Nice work on the SAS, Looks really Clean!
I was looking through you Superford Pics and saw your "Laid Back" radius arm brackets. What do you mean by Laid back?
Crazed 04-14-2003, 04:20 AM That looks great rockon nice job!! :thumbup
Dustin 04-14-2003, 10:50 AM coming along nicely....I hope to be right behind you this weekend
by laid back mounts he means that he cut reangled the mount so it dosent bind the arm and bushing with the added lift since he isnt using drop brackets, I plan to do this as well
Damager 04-14-2003, 12:16 PM way to go Daamon .. looks nice .. how long is it taking so far?
plug ugly 04-14-2003, 01:12 PM Longer than expected of course. I did the removal and coil bucket install by myself, but needed extra hands for the axle install. Bill has been nice enough to drive an hour to my house 3 x to help. We were running into snags with getting the rad arm brackets right, until we decided to lay them back, so that jammed us up for a while.
Ordered the steering and track bar today, hopefully will go in tomorrow and thursday. Should be running soon.
SuperDave 04-15-2003, 12:06 AM "until we decided to lay them back, so that jammed us up for a while."
What do you mean when you say that?
"Ordered the steering and track bar today, hopefully will go in tomorrow and thursday. Should be running soon"
Where did you get this stuff from?
I'll be needing them soon
plug ugly 04-15-2003, 12:36 AM dustin answered that above. Basically I had the brackets cut and then tilted the mounting surface back approx 20 degrees to alleviate the bind on the bushings at ride height. It looks dead on and should make these brackets work great.
We tried using the stock TTB brackets, but couldn't get the spacing/mounting right with the body mount bracket in the way. the older brackets also give a good bit more of drop to help line up the radius arms.
I order the steering etc. from rockequipment.com. All dom tube with Chevy TRE'S (1 TON STUFF)
SuperDave 04-15-2003, 02:37 AM I got it now. Thanks :)
SuperDave 04-15-2003, 02:49 AM I was just looking over rockequipment.com and didn't see all the steering. Did you call for the parts custom? Do they have a trac-bar? Are you running Cross over steering?
plug ugly 04-15-2003, 03:36 AM I reemed the knuckles and pitman arm to go over the knuckles. You have to go up to their menu bar and scroll down to their tierod kits, or something like that
Dustin 04-15-2003, 10:32 AM thats going to suck if I finish mine before yours this weekend
Crazed 04-15-2003, 12:34 PM Got any pics Dustin?

I have been since I have started gathering parts, just waiting on a buddy to let me come over and tear it apart.
dogonmut 04-16-2003, 12:38 AM Very nice. It's coming along great!
Don't panic Dustin :bawling . You'll be rid of that POS TTB by Monday. Bud and Doug said they'll come and help.
...now if I can only get the new one built by Saturday morning :flipoff:
Dustin 04-16-2003, 12:58 AM I have no worrys, just joking around.
I should have an extra hand on my end for sunday
if you need help I can come help weds or thurs since i have it off. I need to go halfway down there anyway to get shocks and brake lines
plug ugly 05-15-2003, 02:40 AM well, i got the track bar completed thanks to a friend jack. It is great, and a different approach to what dustin and Scott have done. there is still zero bumpsteer. everything is under SAS if anyone cares.

Crazed 05-15-2003, 03:02 AM Looks real nice...Great job!! how do those springs ride?
Bronco Buster 05-15-2003, 04:27 AM WOW! Nice install. Real clean. I started out lookin at the SAS pics and ended up checkin out all the pics. Got a nice retina burn goin.
MY EYES! THE GOGGLES . . . THEY DO NUTHING!
plug ugly 05-15-2003, 10:46 AM crazed, so far the springs are very nice, much nicer than the superlift ttb springs I was running. If I still had a ttb lift on, I would definately opt for these instead of any others.
Crazed 05-15-2003, 01:02 PM I am going to be slowly collecting parts for my SAS ...so I am trying to figure out parts. Are they softer?
plug ugly 05-15-2003, 02:01 PM not than the superlifts, maybe 50 pounds heavier, but my superlifts were way too soft. these just feel much firmer, but are still soft and flex enough to be comfortable.
Keep in mind tho, I have the winch and heavy front bumper.
dblue351 05-15-2003, 04:21 PM WOW! Nice install. Real clean. I started out lookin at the SAS pics and ended up checkin out all the pics. Got a nice retina burn goin.

Nothing like a good simpsons quote!
SuperDave 07-07-2003, 01:59 AM Now that you've had it for a while how do you like the SAS?
Swamp Donkey 07-07-2003, 02:06 AM Hey Superdave, where did you get your avatar? It looks familiar. It looks like a guy's Bronc that used to be in Texas A&M Offroad jumping out at Ft. Hood.
SuperDave 07-07-2003, 02:14 AM I got it off of another website a few years back when I first bought mine.
Here is the original pic. Is it the one you were talking about?
