So far, I have 3 rigs lined up for a nice scenic cruise. Of course, a foot or two of snow could fall, before the 13th. We are going anyway.

Italian Creek starts just south of Crested Butte, and ends up above Taylor Reservoir. Its only about 4 hours, in the summer, but a nice easy trail.

Anyone here in Colorado interested, shoot me a pm...................

Sounds fun but need more info. Are you prepared to get stuck. I don't have a winch (It's on the Xmas list) I think you're getting your snow. I'm interested.

I do not think you are going to get allthe way over it but the lower parts of either side could be fun. I would be willing to bet beers after one of the summer runs, that you are not able to get from Crested Butte all the way to Taylor Res.

Again long way from the Denver area.

I would have loved going but it's a schedule conflict with a party we're throwing. Maybe next time?

Change of Trail. We are going to try to make it up to the Alpine Tunnel, instead of Italian Creek. If that is closed, there is Hancock and Tomichi, so we will still have trails to explore.

One of the vehicles has a winch, and we all have good recovery straps, and shovels.

Still a little far for this time of year. I am again willing to say you will not get very close to those 10000+ foot trails in Dec.

Whether we get all the way up, or not, the fun is in trying. We haven't had much snow yet, so I am optimistic.

I agree on the fun of trying but for the 2.5 hour drive from Denver I like getting somewhere.

That was very fun but only 40 minutes away. We need to do another one this year if we can find a place since carnage is now closed.

My 78 will be the only Ford. Chevys and one Jeep......................

A friend of mine lives in Longmont, and he makes it to my door in 4 hours.

No argument there but 3-4 hours one way is a long drive for a day of wheeling. OK for a weekend camping trip but when you need to come back the same day...
