make sure your body lift isn't interferring with the linkages to the t-case. You might have a problem with a hub not disengaging, see if you can turn the front shaft with the truck in 2 wheel drive, with the engine off and the truck in park.

i have manual hubs so thats not a problem but if the drive shafts spinning then its gotta be a t-case problem

You're right, the front souldn't spin with it in 2wd. Since you just put on a body lift I agreee that it must be a clearance problem with the linkage/x-case shift lever.

thanks for the help i was correct i went out and pulled the shifter boot off and watched and sure enough it was spinning so i cut the floor and it went into 2wd fine then so i put the boot back on but its got a metal ring in it that wouldent let me shift into 2wd so i cut that out and the boot wouldent let me go all the way up so now i just have a big hole in the floor so ill have to fab. a plate up but thatnks for the info and helping me to confirm my own beliefs
thanks,sean

I made a shifter extension out of 3/8 in flat stock, 2 set of 2 holes place 3in apart, but my problem was that the floor wouldn't let me shift into 4lo

mines the opposite i can get into anything but 2hi so i trimmed the floor and made me a ghetto panel to cover the big hole in the floor for the time being the shifter length is fine though only problem was the floors in the way thanks, sean
the front shaft will spin in 2wdr
there is nothing to stop it from freewheeling
if you can freely spin the shaft when in park there is no problem

its a good idea to use periods [ . ], lol it helps the reader to read what your trying to say! dont mean to get on your case, its just toooooo hard to resist [now going to cower in the corner]
