Possibly a dumb question

I am looking at a 78 bronco that has the round head lights and I wondered if it was just a matter of getting the lights and buckets to swap it over to the rectanglular lights?

Thank you for the very speedy response. I like the look of the rectangle lights more then the round ones (The round lights look out of place on these square trucks). Thanks again and happy new year.

the only thing about the round lights is the rarity, only 78's had em, and not even all of em. But i do like my rectangles too

Bronco Customs had round headlights in 78, Bronco Ranger XLTs had square headlights in 78.

Well, I am now an owner. I'll get some pics up soon. I have been looking for those clips that hold the lettering on the hood on since the O is missing from my FORD emblem on the front. Thanks, I can't seem to find it on any of the bronco sites.

they will come with your new "o", as for the headlight yes and you will need new plastic surrounds which they call "headlight doors" for some reason

Next time could you put a better title for future search purposes.

"round to square headlights", would be an ideal title. :thumbup

I was looking on JBG at gear sets and wondered if anyone had ever used their particular brand (Yukon and USA standard) I have 33's on it right now but I might want to go to 35's as I upgrade things later in live so I am leaning towards 4.56s. This truck is no where near my DD so mileage isn't an issue, however I would still like to be able to cruise at around 50-60 when I need to make long trips. I thought I read something about the 9" or 44 not being able to fit certain ratio gears? Also the ones for the 44 are reverse rotation are those the ones I need? Thanks a million for all the help you guys rock.

4.56 would be good for 35's.

Call Complete Offroad. They can tell you what you need to know regarding gears,

I remembered that I had a couple old EB "Bronco" emblems upstairs (Used to own a 76') luckily for me there was a couple barrel clips left on them.

Well I personally look high and low for the round ones, i like em, and the rectangle ones too.:toothless

As far as gearing, ALWAYS OVER GEAR NEVER (or try not to) UNDER GEAR!! you can always go bigger!!!

The bezels are what surrounds the headlight, the "doors" are the buckets that the headlight sits in. I changed my 78 customs headlights from round to square and had to reshape the doors to accept the square lights with the idea of getting square ones eventually but never needed to, they sit sturdy and square in the bezel.

Round headlights, FTW.

So I got my bezels and my buckets, but it seems that they wont fit into the part that bolts to the core support. I can't find anyone that sells that part either.

Will do, I am going to tear it apart again tomorrow, take another look at everything. Does anyone with rectangle headlights have a picture of their headlight bracket? Not the bezel or the bucket that the headlight sits in but the part that the bucket and headlight bolt to? Thanks.

Alright, I stopped by that truck and took some pics to compare. The rectangle headlights have a flat spot on the top and the round ones are well round all the way lol. Needless to say I'm going to need a set of those. Gilla, you want round headlights I'll trade ya :)
