I tried getting one a few years ago, but I've found that most owners know what their cars are worth, and price them like Chevies and toyotas  Needless to say, I don't own one. So, I've decided that when I'm ready to get a family-type car that I can hotrod and race, it'll be a 2dr Fairmont/Zephyr - they're cheap, I can use most, if not all, Mustang suspension parts(Fox-bodied car, like the mustang), easily take in a small block(built, at that) and just easily made into a sleeper

I used to own an 82 Zephyr GS, 200ci, auto, 8.8" rear. This is what I wanted to do with it - http://server3002.freeyellow.com/stuartscustoms/misc/GliddenB&W.jpg

Mine looked just like this one, only blue - http://server3002.freeyellow.com/stuartscustoms/postcards/PC82MZZ7.jpg

definitely NOT gay...that car just plain hauls ass. You're right too about it being the fastest production car in '87. It beat out the vette. My old neighbor used to have one and one night we were outside shooting the poo and his daughter comes out and needs him to move the Buick so she could get her car out. So he tosses me the keys and says "go ahead and take it for a drive". All I can say is "wow", that little V6 was amazing. I couldn't believe the power. I was gone for about 45 minutes just hauling ass around. I come back, park it in his driveway and hand him the keys thinking he would be pissed because I was gone so long but he was just like: "I knew you wouldn't be back for a while once you get behind the wheel". He was a great neighbor with a kickass car!
I say get one just be careful 'cause so many of them have just been driver really hard. Be prepared to sink some money in it...I think its an excellend choice.

When I worked at the Nashville Auto Auction we had one come in. We took it to the back lot that was easily over a quarter mile long and would rev it up with the brake on to the point before it would break the tires loose and when the turbo spooled up let off the brake...smoke toasties! Those cars would fly but like David said people who have them are real proud of them and are hard to find, expensive and a lot of them were abused.

oh boy .. it goes fast to the next stop light .. I have been in one and drove it myself back when it came out ... yes, very nice..but in this day and age?

nah, I don't think so

and BTW .. a zephyr? .. you wouldn't find my friggin corpse in one of those .. speaking of gay

hahaha, sorry Dave .. those are driven by the next door neighbors grandparents .. no thanks ;)

Yes, the gran national is gay. ( personaly opinion). Yes, its fast as hell. But, you cant polish a turd. If someone told me that a 81' chevy citation was wicked fast, rare, turboed monster, I would still say its a gay little chevy. my .02 cents

I have a friend that survived a head on collision with a fullsize Dodge van, when he was driving his T-type. GNs are hard to come by and expensive, but you can get the Grandma edition Regal or t-type. Check out www.turbobuick.com for more info.

Hey its funny that you guys are bringing this up. A friend of mine that I just started talking to again his dad has one for sale. It has had a body off resto, the frame was dipped and powdercoated, it has a new twin turbo setup, cheater slicks and a nice radio. He just got done building this car from the frame up for his wife but shes scared to death of it. Hes asking 16,000 if im not mistaken. Just give me some time I find alot of grand nash's around here his is just the nicest one I have seen in awhle for the price he is asking.
