I'm in Brea, Orange County. I'm willing to just about anywhere as long as its not too far (i'm on stock gears w/35's drivin freeway sucks). A friend of mine also has a FSB and I'd probably take him to anything I went to. I too am dying to go to Big Bear, and I'm hoping to go up there in the next few weeks.

It is but there are so many more ppl on sundays that from what chris and i have dealt with is that all you do is sit around and watch all the big guys. Chris and i always go on saturdays cause there are a lot more less ppl and we usually meet our ACORA friends there. Sunday is also the clean up day for our trucks, well at least his usually. And i havent been up there lately but from what ive been told dont count on much mud especially with all the hot weather weve been having.

Dude, sorry for not showing up guys. I had plans to come right up until it was time to leave. Then my mom somehow found out where I was going and got all mad. Since my parents still legally own the truck she said I can't drive it offroad incase I "kill someone" and then my parents "will get sued." :wacko Or some shit like that. Just heard of a run with the EB's to Big Bear on July 4. From Mill Creek RS to the lake to see the fireworks via trails that are easy. meet at 10am I think. next day to run a trail called heart break ridge.

I was mostly talking about the Angelo's get together. Kinda' like what can't afford it is trying to do up in burbank, 'cept for O.C. Since I'm a new guy here, I figured I'd just get the ball rolling and see where it went with those that already know each other.

I'm just now pulling my bronco out of mothballs and setting it up for play (getting the lift this week), but I don't have any of the gear I should have. You know, recovery stuff, extra parts and tools, etc.

As for the EBs, how are they about FSBs showing up? I'm looking for groups to meet up with, but I've heard people (not EBs specifically) say that FSBs are "too big" to run with them. :shrug

That is usually a snobbish jeep thing.... Due to work and deployments, I have not made a run with the Socal Broncos group, but they are amenable to other vehicles according to their photos and conversations on their group site. A lot of EB guys have Big Broncos; I have 2 of each (for right now- have to liquidate 1 of each so the wife will talk to me again). Given the commonality of drivetrain stuff, there is a lot in common.
Besides, who cares how big you are if you wheel; as I have always said when taking my 79 amongst the CJs, TJs, FJs, and EBs: "HEY, IT IS MY BODY SHOP BILL- NOT YOURS!!!" Besides visibility problems and extra pinstriping, I go pretty much everywhere the smaller rigs go.

I can't make the run on the 4th, but may come up early on the 5th and wheel H break ridge with the group.

Don't let that stop you- just run with someone who has gear and tools for both of you; although it is a good idea to start collecting the recovery/trail tool kit stuff soon... It really isn't all that expensive- you can get all of what you need for about $100-150.
