View Full Version : Cb Channel for FSB?
Rowdy 03-14-2004, 08:24 PM This came to me last night at about 1 am when i got woken up with a phone call. it was a friend of mine saying he was burried in mud in a stocker silverado and his T case blew up. so i said where are you be right there he says go all the way down rt 70 and make a left heh figures.
needless to say it would be nice to know if there were any fellow FSB'rs around to keep a lookout or whatever so is there any CB channel the this club or atleast local east coasters moniter?
it only took me about 45 mins to find him in the heart if MT Mysery and after a little tug he was able to limp home in 2wd HAHA stupid Chevy!
But if i didnt know my way around the NJ Pines as good as i do that would have been a disaster that is why i am asking about CB channels?

reptillikus 03-14-2004, 10:32 PM hmm.....i dunno!
A bunch of the guys in this chapter run channel 33, so now i usually do too.
but if im not on the trail, then its probably not on.
Rowdy 03-14-2004, 10:57 PM well for now i guess i'll keep my ears on 33.
but maby we all should consider a set channel for FSB'rs it is always nice to know somebody might be around.. :beer
Hwy Apostle 03-14-2004, 11:39 PM 33 is a good channel the upper part of the band travels better.
bnkrtstk 03-15-2004, 09:34 AM Mine is usually on 33, but it doesn't help when I'm in the wife's truck. That's why we have each others phone #. I for one would have no problem coming to help another FSB'er get out of a jam. I keep a d-ring and recovery strap in mine, and the wife's truck just in case. I even have a chain in the trunk of my Grand Marquis.

Ditto. I wouldn't mind giving out my phone number either.
I guess we're just one big Bronco Family. :hug

reptillikus 03-15-2004, 07:45 PM Yeah, i have no problem rescuing a fellow FSB'er :thumbup
I always have all my straps with me. Never know whan youll need em. Hell, i pulled out company van once! :toothless
Hwy Apostle 03-15-2004, 08:14 PM Is there anyway we can do a fsb phone book that is broken up by city and state? Of course this could only be obtaind by members. But if nobody will take this on I will. I was thinking of an Excel spread sheet system, with home and cell #s on it along with member call sighn and real name. :shrug
Rowdy 03-15-2004, 08:39 PM that is why i had brought up the cb channel because i know for a fact that a phone number list will eventually be nothing but problems. i was thinking a set cb channel for any fsb'r wheeling at the time would definately be handy as far as a number list i would use that as a last resort..
i know alot of truck clubs use a designated cb channel maby we can get one set up herefor each reigon or even sub reigon..
Bill@setel.com 03-16-2004, 12:55 AM I'd be up for any of it. But on the same token - we'd have to be careful of trolls. Like -- only allowing access to the Excel after X number of posts. I wouldn't mind for any of you to have my number - but I'd be worried for some ppl to have it.
As for pulling stuff out....I pulled out a 3-ton boom truck from my farm one day when they got a little carried away working on the lines. I didn't have enough chain, so I ended up using some of their cable, too. With my truck being totally stock with RT/Ss, I had to have enough to get my tires to an access road for traction. But as soon as I got traction...out it came!
ok, had to tell my story....

Kurt Rohmer 03-16-2004, 01:28 AM FSB on 33, sounds good to me. CT is on it.
Hwy Apostle 03-16-2004, 12:23 PM Well the dixie chapter runs channel 14...
southrnpride69 03-16-2004, 02:38 PM I have been told 4 is the unofficial channel while on a trail otherwise :shrug
Oscar 03-16-2004, 03:33 PM channel 3 here in Iceland :thumbup
reptillikus 03-16-2004, 06:50 PM I have been told 4 is the unofficial channel while on a trail otherwise :shrug
thats correct, but ALOT of people run it. Paragon Adv park staff even uses it, so you cant use it when youre inside the park unless youre trying to get in contact with them.
Its easier to get an oddball channel, so that youre less likely to run into other people usin it.
