I was wondering if anybody knows of any good mechanics in the nyc area...willing to go to long island, westchester and jersey if necessary...I need a thorough tuneup and someone that can pull the codes from my Bronco as my idle has been going crazy....it has been revving at about 1500-1800 rpm and I want to pull the codes before I start buying tps sensors, etc. By the way I have a 93 XLT with the 5.8...it only has 57k original miles and I'd like to find someone with some experience with Broncos who can get it running great. getchastuff - cant help you with nyc shops, but i have found a little niche shop here on long island that is run by mechanics who only drive 4wd vehicles. i have been going to them for about a year and a half. when i get stuck with something i can't do myself, or am just too lazy, they have been very good to me and my bronco, and fairly cheap to boot. they went over my bronco with a fine tooth comb before i first bought it (mine had 59K on it), and advised me of everything needing attention, so I knew exactly what i was in for beforehand.

i don't know if it is worth your effort to drive out here, as i am about 30 miles outside of nyc, but if you want an honest and reliable shop that knows broncos, i can definitely recommend these guys. i can even run you back to the train station if they need to keep it overnight or whatever.

Jackhart...thank you so much for the response...It sounds exactly like the type of place I am looking for and 30 miles is not too far at all....I live on the border of Queens and Long Island so it shouldn't be too far at all...Please let me know where this place is and who to ask for......Again I appreciate this very much...
