We need help to keep our trails, Tight ass trail is closed now and so will others, we need to make a call and show our support for DNR so we can keep our trails here in Washington.

DNR Budget Eliminated

Just recieved a call from Steve Russell the Elbe Hills coordinator for Region 2 of the PNW4WDA. According to Steve Blankenship, the Elbe Hills DNR enforcement officer, our legislature has eliminated $600k from the DNR's general fund. This money represents all of the DNR buget. As you can imagine, without this money there will be no enforcement officers to coordinate with volunteers. IAC funds and grant monies will be lost and all areas overseen by DNR would close. This includes Walker Valley, Reiter Trails, Elbe etc.

You must call your congressman today and let your position on this matter be known. The legislative session is scheduled to end Friday.

Make the call now ..... 1-800-562-6000

Please help spread the word

I don't believe that all DNR land will close, for one reason- it's state land... DNR does not moniter this land they keep it cleaned up hence the name Department of Natural Resources. Their is still Fish and Game (Wildlife) departments to patrol the areas and keep people that destroy the trails in line. They cannot close the land, we pay for it with taxes, they can't keep us off it.

They haven't shut down the DNR in our area, wonder why they did it in yours?

You right not all will close......at the same time. Its just a budget cut, which means less DNR staff to keep up the land and work w/ vols for cleanups etc....
