Not exactly a wheelin story..... How I came to buy my 79 Bronc: My 84 was killing me in repairs and I didnt want to spend the money on sas so I looked around to see if someone wanted to trade my 84 for a 78-79. Found a 79 for $5000. I laughed my azz off, called him to see if I could see a $5000 79 Bronc. Looked great, all original, 400M, edelbrock intake, carb, and a bunch of pretty stuff. Gave him my # for some reason (this is where fate stepped in) Got a call from him 2 weeks later, he said I was the only one who contacted him about it so he called me....to say he wreacked it. He got rear ended driving home from the paint shop. The tailgate was down, totaly destroyed it. Guess what thats was the extent of the damage. His insurance totaled it out just for the tailgate. WTF! He asked me if I wanted it for $500 ($200 to buy it from the yard and $300 for him) Hell yea I bought it. Minus one tail gate. Kept the 84 and started to build my new 79 from stock to a killer rock crawler. THE END.

Lucky SOB!!!
I'd trade the Stone Bronco for an Early or 78-9 in a heartbeat (in good condition of course) just to have the SA and Carburation over EFI.

Did you ever see the Presidents Early Bronco on E-Bay?
My wifey told me she just saw one just like it, but with a Fastback Hardtop... in the Dalles on her way back from Portland. Told me it looked real nice... for $4000!?!?!
Man... if it wasn't so far just to go check it out... I'd have been all over it!

They sent me 3 window stickers when I bought my engine, they thought I was kinda weird cuz it says the word mustang in it but I dont care... my baby moves because of it. Shortly after that came the HV oil pump and full gasket set that the owner said he would throw in even though normally its not supposed to come with either... well when they didnt come I called and reminded them... the counter man was busy boxing my stuff up as soon as we hung up the phone.

sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the engine trading it for a detroit!

The detroit cost me $600 (D60). Fair trade I guess......
