I was looking up the weights of these engines for shipping purposes and thought I would post them here.

289 and 302 up till 1982 #460
1983 and up 302 s #440
351c #550
351 w #510
351m and 400 #575

some thing tells me i am going to hate the day i pull and install that motor! my engine hoist can do it, but manipulating it to bolt up to the trans will be a PITA!

Your probably right since the 440LB motor is hard to manipulate and bolt up!

I'm not too sure I trust some of those figures. But he does state some are complete motors, some long blocks. That might explain a 390 being 10 lbs heavier than a 460 according to that site.

Cory, sorry I was in a mad rush. We dont have a favorites list on the comps out of work and I was just about to leave work and wanted to look at it more... plus at that moment my boss was yellin at me to take the trash out so we could go home!!


78Bronco460, ya a few of them are a bit sketchy, they got the 5.0 right, and said newer ones are a little lighter, some dont even have weights in there either!! But damn a 390 is a heavy ass motor anyways!!

anyone see the weight of the 4 cyl pancake VW... 200lbs!!
