FM1960 is just a hop, skip and a jump away from me. Don't know of any places to rent, but I'm sure you'll find one. What program are you going to be taking at UTI? Ford? Diesel? Let us know what part of North Houston you end up in...I'm basically Northwest Houston so a Meet n' greet should be in order. Good luck on the move... :thumbup :beer

Im going into Auto and Diesel tech and will probably do the Ford training too. I might even go back to do Collision repair and refinishing.... Im over in Katy right now at my parents house.... I'll be here til Tuesday. Planning on spending the next few days looking for a place and a job... If ya have any leads let me know.

Good luck with the schooling, definitely some good jobs to be had if you can get them. I have a coworker right now that just finished UTI under the Ford program and cannot get a job at any Ford dealerships in the Houston area. So he's thinking he's just gonna have to move elsewhere to find the job he wants. Said he even tried to get a job with a Chevrolet dealership... :shrug Which is a shame because the UTI infomercial says that the jobs are in high demand right now...well not high enough apparently for Ford. :wacko

Don't have any leads for ya as far as housing goes, but I'm sure you'll find something. Depending on your price range, these smaller apartment like gated communities are nice to live in. There's some by the Willowbrook Mall (off of 1960 on the east side of SH249) which are gated and have security so it might be a bit expensive if you're on a tight budget. If you need any other assistance I certainly can try to help. Once again Goodluck! :thumbup

thanks for the info... Well the problem im gonna have with housing is that my fiancee and I have 2 fullsize dogs and 2 cats..... and way too much stuff for an apartment plus apartments frown on having 3 trucks one of which is soon to have a SAS done....Yeah as for UTI and the job thing, I really dont have to stay in Houston after school, I would be nice though....

Well, I have off today, tomorrow, and thursday all day. If you would like to get together in that time let me know. If you want to grab a bite to eat, I'll see if I can come up with a decent restaurant to eat at, unless you know of one you want to eat at. Hope the apartment hunting is going well... :beer :thumbup

kinda out-of-date, but i read UTI. I want to go to UTI SO BAD. But the problem, of course, is housing. and the g/f, and then the actually school. About how much would it be for one "program"? i never have gotten a solid answer. And hope the house hunt is well, let me know of a less expensive place to live if ya could. Lookin to move out there later this year or the early of next year. PEACE

Sorry it took so long to get back on. It took a while to get everything in order around here. As for UTI's cost it depends on what program you want to take. Im taking the Auto/Diesel and Industrial program with the FORD Fact program and it runs around $32,000.... As for housing it all depends on what ya'll can afford. My fiance and I have 4 animals so we had to find a rent house that would take them. But UTI offers a housing program to help students find a place to live. They also have a job placement program....

When are we gonna have the next meet and greet?????? I have nothing to do..... The Pepboys that they transfered me to is the one down on 610 which is gonna be a little far with school and everything. Plus that would be a half a tank of gas every day I work. So Im still looking for a job closer to the house and Ive been sitting around doing nothing. Gonna head down to Galveston next Saturday for a little fun in the sun.... :shocked :beer
