I just got rejected on my Utah safety inspection for having tires that are bigger than my Bronco came with - while not having mud flaps!
I read the regulation. Paraphrased it reads, "Any larger-than-OEM tire requires mud flaps to cover the entire width of the tire and at least 50% of the height".
So, does anyone in Utah have a set of 235's or 265's I can borrow for a day? If not, all us Utahn's should pitch in for a "community set" to pass around for each other's inspections. :goodfinge

Damn.
I say fab yourself a crappy hitch mounted mud flap rig, just something you slide into the hitch during inspection. I've seen those types before on tow rigs.

If you can't pass inspection and you cheat inspection, can't you get pulled over and given a ticket for it....assuming the cop was a dick?

Burl - No trailer receiver hitch.
Stang - They're not ticketing for it. But cops could give an order to repair.
Regardless, I'm not putting any ugly mud flaps on my rig permanently.
I have my original 265 spare. One more for the rear and I'll have it re-inspected.

That inspector is an ass. How do I know, I do inspections. Let me know BEFORE you get you rig inspected and I will let the little stuff fly. But, I can't pass anything that has already been failed because that raises a red flag with the state.

Rajncajn - Thanks for the offer. I'm afraid (2) 32's, (1) 265 and (1) 235 would be a little suspicious and may fail for too many sizes. But Thanks again!
Monte - I'll take you up on that offer - They are just sitting in your garage right? I wouldn't want to inconvenience you. I'll pm you or feel ree to pm me.
Justin - Thanks for your offer as well. We should all send our business your way. So, where do you work?
Thanks everyone. Hope the thread will help you avoid the hassle I'm getting.

I took a rubber floor mat and screwed that into the wheel well. He had to pass it because there is not a definition of Mud Flap or how they are mounted.
After he passed me, I took out a batter powered screwdriver and took them off.
Guy flipped me off, but couldn't do anything about it.
I just smiled back him and waved.

I ran into that same problem a couple years ago, when i had 31's on it...this year when i had my 32's they didnt say a word??? anyway, i bought a pair of mud flaps to pass... you can use them if you want, we dont even have to drill, just use some 3m adhesive tape
