What exactly does this wiring do? Does it allow for use of the 3g alt? Also why is the 3G so much more better? Still learning on charging system.

Not just any 3G alt, but a 200amp 3G alternator if you buy one.
The 3G is better than the old 2G, more power less risk of fire.
And the 3G is easy to swap into more vehicles

It's not the best alt in the world, but they are very good for the price.
some people have problems after dunking them in water :shrug I've never had water over my hood :wacko
