VOTE JACKHART! Why?

Because ....
1. He wheeled with a sprained ankle the last time we were at Paragon - all weekend!
2. He'll put all his trust in you as a leader and will even follow you down a slope if you tell him to ("Steve, am I supposed to follow you?" "NO!")
3. His truck has done some kind of super monster transformation in the six months between our first run and our last run with him and it almost doesn't resemble the stock BKO he showed up with the first time we met him, running boards and all (which he whacked off in the parking lot in the freezing cold rain).
4. And he drives it like he doesn't care about body damage ....
5. He showed up to wheel in June even after having to stop and spend an hour at a shop to get the truck fixed.
6. He let Ian drive his truck ... almost all day ... and didn't seem worried at all.

And he's just a cool all-around guy! Plus, his dogs some of the coolest dogs I've met (will you be bringing them with you in September? :toothless )

Vote for JOPES!!!
Why? Because there isn't a single part of his truck that has not undergone transformation.
-Cut wheels wells
-Duel Tcases (203/205)
-Full Cage
-14Bolt Rear (Detroit I believe with 5.13s)
-D60 Front (Welded Detroit locker! The man's crazy)
-And he's running 40" tires.
-ram assist steering
C'mon guys for once vote for the truck. This shouldn't be a popularity contest!

C'mon guys for once vote for the truck. This shouldn't be a popularity contest!
There are a few rigs in this month's contest that are MORE than WORTHY of F.O.T.M. besides jopes. Don't get me wrong... Don has put a ton of work into his rig and is VERY worthy as well... I suppose that's why he's already won F.O.T.M. in the past. :twak :goodfinge :toothless

Not that I care who anyone VOTES for... just VOTE!!! :rockon
(I just don't like the whole "popularity" angle being used to discount other members and thier hard work on thier own Bronco's.)

right on pepe. If it was a strictly popularity contest, I can vouch that Kenny(AbesBlue) and myself would not be in this contest. I nominated Kenny, because he is a great guy, tries hard, enjoyable person to hang out with, and if you could have seen him wheel this weekend with a stock rig on ATs. God was that amazing. As long as we get 300 votes. I would love to get almost 4000 votes for FOTM, but we know that wont happen.

Alright, I voted. The airplane kid got my vote. Kid's steered me in the right direction before, although I think I'm one of the select few to try a 390 swap. On certain other things, SrATEX has helped me out, and get things straight. He gets my vot for being a good person. Now if he'd ever stop wrenching on those planes long enough to do some on his bronco...... :goodfinge

Well ppl, you all should know who i voted for. I voted for my honey, AbesBlue95. The reason i voted for him is because he did awsome things in his stock rig at witc. I didnt imagine he would do some of the things he did (twisters). And when he got stuck and had to be winched, he took it all in stride. He also didnt back down, if he started something he wanted to finish it. I praise him for that. Like i said, he drove his rig with skills.

:kiss I love you baby!!! Good luck!

All the trails We run up here are within an hours drive from my place.... But your still ****ed if somthing brakes. Cause there is always the possibility of that really pissed off bear or moose around the corner or in the woods.

I am so sick and tired of hearing the bitchin' go on and on.
The CONTEST is called FULLSIZE OF THE MONTH. We work very hard on keeping this thing fair and equal and all that crap. You have no idea of the time put in... hell, between AC & Myself... I have no idea how much time is put in over the course of a month. We set this thing up and moderate it constantly, we create custom banners happily for each and every winner that wants one, hell... we (DSOT-JOE) even fanagled a deal with BroncoDriver magazine to give each winner a free 1 yr subscription (and before that AC was awarding presents out of his own damn pocket money.) We are DEDICATED to bring you the BEST contest we possibly can... but ya know what? Doesn't seem to ever be good enough.

Bottom line is... folks are gonna vote for who they are gonna vote for and for whatever reasons they see fit. There's nothing we can do about that, nor would we want to. This contest is decided by the hundreds of members that partipate... and it's up to them who wins, popular member or bitchin' truck... whatever they decide.

CASE IN POINT, ME: I myself have been nominated so many times I've lost count (that in itself is quite an honor) Considering my Bronco has one of the most unique paintjobs of any I've ever seen, a freshly installed (by me, who couldn't turn a wrench before I came here) 351W and a few other goodies here and there I've done myself. I wheel the piss out of it... whenever I can afford to break my daily driver and I've spent lots of blood, sweat and money on it (with the help of my FSB bretheren). I moderate this board (along with some other pretty cool dudes) and have taken the time to share anything and everything I can with everyone here. I help members out whenever it's within my ability and have also written quite a bit around here (header write-up, forum how to's, etc.) On top of that... I'm an asshole, but I'm a pretty cool asshole. :brownbag
Now... "what the hell is your point?" your probably saying... well, it is just this: I HAVE NEVER WON F.O.T.M. and I think that's just fine, I never cried and pissed and moaned that my truck deserves it more or that this is all about who's more popular... :banghead To hear folks belittle others and say that F.O.T.M. is merely a popularity contest, well... it torques my shorts man! In a big way!

Now... don't ya'll read this and go thinkin' "There goes Pepe`, wiggin' out again!" becouse I'm not upset... I'm just frustrated that we can't seem to get over this. These comments keep popping up every month and I don't think that it's at all fair to the nominees, who are out there making trips and snappin' pics, for your entertainment. :slap

Now... that's out of my system, so...

BTW... you guys are kickin' ass this month, but I'm seriously leanin' towards Bronco85. That dudes got some crazy ass pics and doesn't appear to be afraid of muck that would make me tuck tail and turn around, at least... for now. :goodfinge

All this stuff being said, and some of the pics being posted...I'd just as soon they take me out of the running. I get enough of the kids bickering from my own.

guess you can't take a little joke BigNorm. i thought that was pretty funny myself. i truly feel sorry for you if you are that bitter about my participation. would it make you feel better if i removed myself from the running? should we all subscribe to your definition of what makes fotm what it is? i agree with pepe, people, including myself, vote for different reasons. and this is supposed to be FUN! have you driven 2000 miles in a weekend to wheel with another bko chapter? are you planning on going 6000 miles in 2 months to do the same at hollister? have i done nothing to my rig at all? do i not help my fellow bko brothers whenever it is within my power to do so? do i not wheel it like i stole it? oh yeah, you wouldn't know, you never met/wheeled with/spoke/pm'd or ever communicated with me in any capacity. so i guess ya got me figured out.

btw, are you related to a member named d j chevy by any chance?? cause that's the last dimwit who used that same lameass comment about me. congratulations, i now put you in the same dubious category as her. see here if you have no clue what i'm talking about: http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18203&highlight=jackass

My appologies to the board. I was just trying to put in perspective all the hard work Don (Jopes) has put into his rig. I understand that everyone has a love for his/her own ride and has probably invested time in it. Take every component off of the truck and improve on it and I'm impressed. I know Don's not the only one. There are others. Great Pics of Alaska BTW.

Man bad news. I messed up the bronco:(

Got about 3 miles down the trail today. I hit this tree laying in the trail, hear crunch, bank, crack, boom... Then engine starts to run like poo.

I'm tihnking oh crap, I just stuck that tree through my grill and into my radiator or ripped off my oil filter. Luckly it just dented that peice of panel behind my bumper(was going to cut it off anyways, and now it matches the other side).

Anyways. I pop the hood and notice I'm not getting any fuel at all. And my electric pump(using as a pusher). Is making one hell of a racket. I crawl under there to inspect and don't see a thing. Another guy crawls under and notices my quick disconnect like is fully kinked. Not letting any fuel through.

Hmm, no problem we says quick work and kink is out, fire up the pump.. OH SHIT Pump aint pumping anything.

So great, route around it and continue on.. Fire it up.... VRRRRRRRMMMMM... SWEET lets go. Engine sputters and dies.. HMMMM CRANK CRANK CRANK!! NOTHING

Hmm, Pull fuel line off carb, crank some more. No fuel there. Buddy jumps under and blows threw the line it's all clear on both ends.

HMM Starting to get annoyed.

Nother buddy had a 15 PSI TBI pump, we throw that on click the switch. IT's workin, then I hear "OH SHIT IT'S GOIGN TO EXPLODE". It filled the line up so much that the filter was buldging out. Dang!! Throw pressure regulator on it.. HMM fuel wont go into filter unless we break the seal on the line. Interesting.

So I decide that I'm going to turn around to not ruin the rest of the day for the rest of the guys. We ended up leaving out the fuel regulator and screwing with the carb so that the engine would run enough to get me home using the switch to regulate pressure.

You may ask how that works right? Switch on get gas, switch off no gas. Well Thats a great idea, exept we neglected to realize that it's a tight freakin trail. So what took us 20 mins to run took me almost 90 mins. to the trail head. Optimas rock by the way! I killed the engine so many times it was crazy.

Got to a gas station on the main road. And to add insult to injury, they had a pay air compressor. Which was leaking air, But I fixed it with my parts for free and still paid $3.00 to air my tires up thank you!!

Anyways it took me about 3 hours to drive home what usually takes about 45 mins. This is how my trip went.

Fuel pump on (2 secs.), Fuel pump off (2 secs.), fuel pump on (2 secs.) Fuel pump off 2 secs.). For 3 hours.. I can flip people off on the highway with the best of them now:) Fingers got a work on with that switch.

anyways, I will be reaming the hell out of the guys that did my tune up because they installed the pump for me. And put the kink in the hose... I hope they will atleast retune my engine for me.. Because it's all their fault this happened in the first place..

All I ask for is that this Forum be kept up for the VOTING and for the VOTING only. If you have a problem with a member, then you need to resolve that problem without getting everyone on FSB involved....

Also, for those of you who keep trying to compare this site to MBB, there is no comparing. We may have some of the same Members here but, we will not allow for it to go that way....So, Please STOP this nonsense.

It was a hard choice for me between TnT and Dangling Dave.

I went with TnT again, like I did last time, mostly because his rig is what my rig aspires to be.

But from what I understand DD is a stand up guy and he's been putting a lot of work into his rig lately with the SAS and all, both guys are quite deserving.

Good luck everyone.

For those that are interested in specs and mods I thought I'd list them for ya.

The engine has been swapped out from a 351M to a 429 big block

The trans has been rebuilt with a shift kit

The rear has been upgraded to a Dana 60 with 4.56 gears, then I put a detroit locker in it. I broke an axle shaft, so upgraded to Dana 70HD and put a detriot locker in it.

The front Dana 44 was converted over to a HD 3/4 ton front. I wanted to put a locker in it, but knew it wouldn't hold up, so I swapped it out for a Dana 60HP. I have Dana 70 outer shafts and a Electrac locker for it. The axle is installed, but the locker and shafts still need to be installed.

I have a 6" pipe capped on the ends with air fittings behind the gas tank. It acts as a skid plate and an air tank.

I have sliders on each side to protect the doors.

I converted to a Saginaw power steering pump with custom brackets.

I have a Milemarker 10,500 lb Hydraulic winch.

Custom Wal-Mart flat black paint job. :toothless

Exide gel cell battery, also known as generic optima.

CB with 6' whip antenna

Grill guard and winch bumper with auxillary driving light.

4" lift springs and 3" drop towers with 3" body lift in the front. Soon to be 6" JBG lift springs. I have 4" lift springs in the rear with 3" blocks. Soon to be shackle fliped.

Custom radius arm extensions with heims.

And for those that care all this has been done at my house my myself with the help of some friends and this web site.

Guys, don't let a Bronco on 33's with a 302 win this. I know he's got a cool avatar, but vote for the most radical rig, whoever you think has it.
you say that like it's a bad thing :toothless i mean sure it's not the biggest rig out there but there have been smaller trucks that have won fotm. Plus it's not like he's got his own shop or anything( :goodfinge ) Being that he lives in NYC i think he's done pretty good job with it considering it was stock 6 months ago :shrug

hey i dont have my own shop, and if it was based on the most radical rig modded wise im really fawked, sorry not all of us are payed nicely. Im still waiting on Uncle Sam to give me a raise. I have only owned the rig about 8 months and mine has made huge turn around. I cant wait though for the 21st so my lift will be installed by dale and myself.

VOTE FOR SrATEX or JACKHART

sorry B85 would say you but im jealous of you plus ive met Dave

I'm a computer tech and I make $12.00 an hour. It's all about priorities. I also trade and get alot of used parts off ebay. I've been into wheeling since this spring and have spent most of my savings and time on my truck.

Damn, I'm a computer tech making a little more than you, and I've had since last winter. You've gotten a lot more done than I have. Way to go. Of course, you were luck enough to find a '79, which is a lot easier to build up than a '90.

Okay, I'll tell you who I'm voting for, and no it's not the most built rig, which makes this hard, cause there are some KILLER rigs in this running, but this time is more about the person then the rig, and it's not even a dixie brother (well, he's honorary).

I voted for Dave (Jackhart) and let me tell you why.

After driving his 1000 mile trip here with Kevin, they got in late and got little rest (though he did sissy-it-up in a cozy cabin) and the first thing he and Kevin did after breakfast, was help me replace my fuel pump. I know if I drove 1000 to wheel the first thing I would want to do is, WHEEL! But the man put me and my needs before his own (as it seems to be a reaccuring theme with him) and made sure my rig was done first.

So BIG UPS! To you Dave, thanks for being a good friend!

You da man!

12 bucks an hour, thats nice, at least to a 20 year old airman that is. Yeah i may work with multi-million dollar aircraft but they dont share that multi-million with. Yeah i have priorities, bills come first, food, rent, etc. Then truck then everything else. the only reason I bought a new kit was cause it came out cheaper then buying fogs DC lift

Carefull Gub you're going to hurt some feelings although there are a few here that share your oppinion. :uhoh3

SrATEX you and I both know that you receive base housing with a dining facility and have a top notch automotive hobby shop in which to work in. Oh yeah. The Air Force treats it's folks good as well. I'm not knockin' it, just jellous I wasn't smart enough to enlist in the air force. I was the nice guy that actually jumped from that C130 and the same guy you walk on like he's luggage. A fully loaded bird ready to jump doesn't provide a whole lot of space to move. Anyway I regress...

SSgtTEX
08-09-2004, 06:07 PM
yeah i get housing, yeah i get food, but not enough, well i get plenty for food. Hobby shop is nice, plus unfortunantly I am still paying off on the truck. Saving up for when Im married next year also. So I have to take it step by step. Yeah I admit there are some great rigs, Im jealous of each and everyone of them. I just like how MFS choose me with an overall factor, he looks at the person and the rig. now i dont walk on the ones jumping, im still trying to convince them to send a crew chief to jump then HALO. Plus my father is career army, still in, so i grew up with the grunts. only reason im not army is cause I wanna fly something more then a helo

I haven't voted yet, but I think I'm leaning towards Jackhart. Even though he's one of "them northern boys." The fact that him and Kevin drove down here to wheel and then stayed in the shop to help Mose is pretty cool in my book.

Still undecided though. :toothless

according to kev, my e40d is fawked, it looks like i won't be wheeling it anymore this month. instead of doing a zf 5 speed swap, i am going to do a heavy duty rebuild towards the end of the month (i will do a writeup with pix), so for now i'll have to resort to recent past pix from witc - did i mention this was a 1000 MILE DRIVE EACH WAY IN A WEEKEND???

this is the entrance to snowman at witc:

my bko being wheeled by my 15 y/o buddy denis at witc. i am proud to confirm we "hooked another one HARD" as my buddy 95bxl likes to say. denis is smitten with the bronco way of life and wants one of his own to wheel.

http://4x4.forensick.net/88bronco/images/040801/027.jpg

The Ledge - this thing was crazy, even locked front and rear i couldn't quite get up it.

playing in the creek, me and kev.

this next one, after the several foot drop off, gouged the passenger side extended radius arm pretty good, but it didn't bend otherwise. bds arms are solid!!

Sorry to pick on a guy that has 33s.

no worries, i can see your point of view, Gub. big rigs = big $ and big time and effort, there is no doubt about that. as for me, well, we all have to start somewhere, right? i hope you can at least appreciate that the rig was pretty stock not too long ago. i am trying my best as time and funds allow. i do have the sterling getting ready to go (can't decide bet. that or the 9"), perhaps that changes the perspective a bit? no? oh well.

you definitely have an awesome rig, Gub, and have obviously put alot of work into it. it definitely deserves more votes.

so VOTE FOR GUB_NI!! His rig rocks!! :thumbup
