I swapped in a F-350 booster and master cylinder. One of the easiest and best mods yet....NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. Only thing that needed to be changed is one of the fittings for the resvoir and swist the lines around. Im still planning on swapping in the F-350 wheel cylinders and thunderbird calipers later. Anyone running bigger tires I recomend this swap. Heres a few pics:

Just your average parts store brand. I ordered mine through Parts Plus.

will the f350 wheel cylinders go strait into the Bronco drums?

Yup, so will F-250 wheel cylinders. The thunderbird calipers have the same brake pads as the Bronco just a bigger cylinder. Check this link out, its where I got my info from

I was about to do that as well. but with the 3/4 ton brakes on the chevy parts I no longer need to. I can lock them up now. Why spend more $$$ to upgrade.

my booster and M/C were assembled as a unit and cost $180, they were 78 even though i have a 79. the 79 assembly was $40 less for some reason. $10 for a double flare kit and thats all i got. well the 8 lug stuff and rear D60, but thats another subject. AXE

i will eventually get the D60 up front and a 10.25 in the back. but the D60 gets rear discs first. AXE

I read the article in the link provided above, and another article very similar to it in the tech section of Ford-trucks.com. Both articles deal with 78-79 Broncos. Will this also work with an 86 Bronco? Or are the brakes different between the 78-79 and 80+ Broncos.

Also, both articles mention 73-78 Ford Thunderbird calipers, but that the fittings need to be changed to plumb in the brake lines. Anyone know if any other full-size Ford cars, like 80's Ford Crown Vics have better calipers that will work with an 86 Bronco without having to get adapter fittings - in other words, a truly direct bolt-on with better stopping power?

Thanks for any extra info.

I was on a forum some months ago and there was a brake upgrade writup that showed a 79 bronco / F350 brake upgrade that used an off the shelf DODGE! hose to connect the t-bird calipers, but I cant remember which year or model dodge, does this ring a bell to anyone?? any help greatly appreciated

Did you bench blead the master cylinder first? Also did you get your vacume line on the booster hooked back up? How about all the air out of the brake lines?

sounds like you have an air lock somewhere bleed it a couple times at least 2 or 3 time maybe that will work.
