From the looks of it most colorado members are ghosts. They come in and say hey im in colorado lets go wheelin then never seem to come back :shrug :shrug

I know we are a pathetic group. But that being said we are pretty spread out, from Durango, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver, Ft.Collins, Grand Junction etc... Need to find somewhere in the middle of the state down by Buena Vista or somewhere like that to meet.

i live outside of Denver, but haha am only 16, so no legal beer for me, :beer , but i wheel all the time with my buddies now in the canyons of Boulder! my Bronc still beats the jeeps, and my buddies lates 70's landcrusier, what we should do is do a trail! 15 Broncs all on one trail hahaha :rockon

There's actually a Rocky Mountain chapter for the 2 Big Broncos club here, but there's so little traffic that I think it's about dead. I used to post up trips every two or three weeks, but virtually no one showed up.

Start posting them here, many not get a takers but it is worth a try.

well she isnt on the road as of right now. but by the end of the weekend it should be. as long as i get my newly rebuild edelbrock carb on and tuned and get my drop bracket on.

id say shed be worthy. corse i havent even had mine on the trail yet. hell ive only drivin it a total of 50 miles since i bought mine in january. (been fixin her up)

Hey there :drinkbud Fairly new member here in Milliken (aka might as well be greeley) sayen yeah an M&G is for sure in order. As for the wheeling part....well the bronco is far from trail worthy but its getting there..Im avail sundays if anyone ever wants someone in the pass seat :)

How about a pot luck M&G on a trail that can be enjoyed by all. Something for stock Bronc's. It sounds as if most are still running stock.

hey my wife finaly got a saturday off work so i am free next saturday on november 13th if any of you guys want to try and get a beer somewhere. hooters at 6th and kipling would work for me.

looking good for next spring got the mini spool thursday my tires will be in soon (ups ground) and now i can give that bodylift to the trash man, got a killer deal on a used 6 inch suspension lift ohh what fun i will have. :chili:

Another Colorado user. I'm in Longmont and my rigs in the sig. I'll post some picks of it as soon as I get a cam. I would be down for a lil meet and great and we should try to find a trail that a stock Bronco can make it up as to get as many members as possible.
My rig is pretty close to stock but it wheels pretty good and it seems that most Broncos are pretty capable out of the box. We need to figure out a time in the summer so we can have enough time to get those days off then RSVP and figure out where we are going to meet up then were we are going to Camp out for a couple nights or whatever. Anybody up in my area BTW?

Relatively new Bronco owner out by DIA (Denver)... '96 Bronco - OJ special. Just took it out to the mountains last weekend (Swan River by Breckenridge) and had a great time. Blew a tire, which was a good excuse to go buy a set of 32x11.5x15 BFG ATs. No major modifications done yet, but I was loving it's performance. I'd be interested in doing a trail with a group this summer as well.

I have a lot of friends who go to the School of Mines. I am up in golden at least once a month.

I know peeps at Mines. Maybe someday I will get a degree from there. Does it make sense that whoever owned my Bronco before me put a different type of carb on him? It looks different from some pics Ive seen yet it is still a 2 bl. And it does not have the adjustments in the right places. Very confusing and I am at a loss. Anyone help?

Anybody know a reputable shop to get an 302 Bronco engine rebuilt in the Denver/Englewood/Southern Denver area? I want to get both just a regular full rebuild and get it tweaked a little for performance while I'm at it.

Second, what fairly basic (read moderatly expensive) engine work would you guys suggest for an increase in performance? Shaved heads?

I met up with Wileec a week or so back, so I know he's up for whatever initial "broncofest" we can put together. Lookes like we can put together a nice beginning group. I just need a couple weeks and will be all squared away...tools unpacked, garage space, welder ready to go. Labor Day week I have the entire time off, so will be setting all this up.

Matter of fact, I almost forgot, Matt (Wileec) remembers/knows Chris (forget his last name) that had a tan bronco that I wheeled with when 2BigBroncos first formed the Colorado chapter back in '98. course I was Oregon bound by '00, so I have not done much wheeling here.

I'm around. Haven't been online much over the last few months as I have been very busy. But I'm down for whatever, except maybe the airport bathroom sex part. Not sure how that got in there. Either I was s*%t canned one night and don't remember or one of my buddies jumped on my computer when I wasn't looking. My Bronco is in need of some love after a rough (good) plowing season last winter. Just need to get the time and money to do it all. Till then no major wheeling. Light stuff would be fine by me.

Pro-built cylinder heads is near Brodway and Evans.A guy named Rich owns it.
The best machine shop in town.He is usually backed up with work so you have to wait a bit but its worth.You need a number?

I live in Monument (just north of Colorado Springs). I don't go off-roading though. My Bronco is for the gun range and winter time. I'd be up a for M&G sometime. I have Friday and Saturday off from work. And work 5am to 1:30pm when I do work.

I am totally interested in meeting bronc heads in CO! Thanks for coming over the other night to help with the carb. Still not runnin tho. I let the battery charge all the PM and it wanted to start, at least it had enough crank. I just need to dial it in now. I could not figure that dam thing out to save me life! :whiteflag I do appreciate all yer help! I cant go 4x4 till next summer but I am totally game fer a MnG. How bout we go play in the Fairplay area? There is tons of roads out there for non-mods and lots of camping and fishing too. Almost middle of the road for the whole state? Any takers? :beer

i used to live in colorado springs, miss it very much. i went rock crawling with a few buddies, my first time. i came back to illinois last fall, bought two broncs, building my 94 up so i can go back to the pikes peak area and wheel. you have to go to some bullcrap 4x4 park here to have fun, not like colorado, just go up in the mountains and get lost,.

I'd love to. Coaching football MWF, with games every Saturday thru Oct, tho. Makes scheduling tough, but I'll dang sure try!

I grew up in Rochelle!!! Moved back out here to CO back in '85. Hope you get to move/ comeback to visit here soon... (Is the House of Photography still there? My dad used to own it.)

Ok sounds like we're building some momentum here. The Jenny Creek idea is interesting, though from the pics I'd be a little nervous in my mostly stock ride. Still, it has potential.

So here's what we need:
--A place - sounds like something appropriate for stock Broncos, with some challenging areas if possible

--A date - with the leaves turning soon and the mild September weather, motivation shouldn't be an issue.

--A signup from folks that are anxious to get out there.

Let's get everyone to suggest 1 or 2 trails, then let's agree on one, pick a date and go to it.

Here's my suggestion:
Dakan Road/Long Hollow Road - starts from near Castle Rock. Easy drive for stock vehicles with 3 pretty good obstacles (at least at my amateur level). My Bronco sits on 33s and it cleared everything fine in 4Low. Took us several hours (bring a lunch) and we ended up in Woodland Park. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=152

I haven't been out on many other trails, so can't suggest anything else at the moment.

How does the weekend of 22/23 or 29/30 sound? Sundays would be better because I usally work Sat. evenings, but do not HAVE to.

as far as these trails go i would like to hear some feedback they look like i could probablly do them long as i had a get out of jail card lol but i do not know the level of wheeling experience our members have my goal is to be able to include everyone lets here some sound off on these trails and any others you guys have in mind.

Oct. sounds great. Bill Moore is lable MUCH harder than it is. There is 1 hill that is loose but other than that it is a cake walk. 1 of my favorites. And real close to Denver.

Im up for a meet n greetr. not too sure about wheelin though..my bronk needs so significant engine rebuilding before i go too far off road. it sounds likea diesel with all the knock.
still runs fine on roads though. anybody got any suggestions for good rebuild shop(s) here in denver that dont cost an arm and leg? Less than 3k would be sweet.

try western engine and transmission in loveland only cost me 1200 for a reman 390 and install on my 69 f100 a few yrs back
