View Full Version : Have any of you swapped using leafs
broncobandit 06-03-2003, 05:16 PM I did my SAS swap last summer and I used 4 inch chevy leafs up front to hang my D60. It seemed a lot easier than the coil route and it flexes quite well. I was just wondering why everyone is using coils.
The pics are on the superford registry

Dude, How was haz-fest??
Crazed 06-03-2003, 06:21 PM I was wondering who owned that one.....Glad yo could make it!!
TTBlows 06-03-2003, 06:40 PM Yep, I'm using a hybrid pack from an '86 F350 diesel. All stock junkyard components, 52" center to center, but they wouldn't accomodate 39.5's without some serious fender trimming.
Lookinfurfun 06-03-2003, 06:47 PM Hey, Badblack 88 and broncobandit. I live in Grants Pass, we'll have to hook up sometime for a trail ride.

broncobandit 06-05-2003, 05:43 PM Haz fest was fun. I didnt break anything so that is always a plus. The pics are here http://www.backwoods4wd.com/trips/Haz-Fest%202003/
There was only a few fords. Mainly toyotas. The crusteasun was there and he broke a warn axle and a ctm joint trying this hill. That thing is nuts. There were about ten roll overs the whole weekend, people were putting their trucks on the sides constantly.
it seems like a lot of people with a sas have '92-'96 and with leaf springs you have to deal with the crumple zone frame. this is why i stayed with coils.
dblue351 06-26-2003, 01:01 AM Coils ride better!
I was up for the challenge?
leafs are for chevys.
coil D60 are not common -
I dont know, just didnt think to do it leaf, I just alwys liked coils.
(all said in fun) :beer
arcane 06-26-2003, 01:10 PM I'm runnin reverse shackle leafs on my D60 swap. I went with the leafs over coils for cost reasons. I had the '91 F-350 complete rolling chassis, so most of the parts for the swap came off of that.
Timmy 06-26-2003, 07:27 PM What about us Washingtonians? I am damn clode to being and oregonian... I work in portland, oregon and live in vancouver, wa
