Well I finally got it on the road. I say "on the road" and not "done" because I have a feeling it will be a constant work in progress for a while. For one, I made drop brackets for my radius arms. The thing flexes real good, but the radius arms hang so damn low I am afraid to take it on anything but mud. So I decided that I would run extended radius arms. The ones that I have found run between $550 and $750. OUCH. So I think I am going to go make some of my own. Has anybody here done this? I figure if I make a jig to hold the bolt part and the cup part in the same place, I really can't go wrong as long as I use good DOM tubing and make good welds, right?

Anyway, that's issue #1. second, I think my axlehousing is hosed. When I reinstalled the passenger side axleshaft, I noticed it didn't set centered in the knuckle. I got a straightedge and voila! The housing is ever so slightly bent. After digging though my garbage pile, there they were. Tapered shims that fit behind the spindle to correct the bend. I wouldn't really be too worried except that gear oil leaks out of the end of the housing when on a incline. I had the seals replaced when I re-geared so I figure the un-centered axleshaft is causing this.

Finally I need to do something different with the steering tie rods and the track bar. They are nice and parallel, but they bind at full droop.

Anyway, if anybody has any suggestions, I am open to them. Until I get these sorted out I think it will be a road warrior.

find the old wt4wheeling page. In it is a pic of what bill did with his chevy and ford front. He used extensions with heims on the end of his radius arms. Very slick an works very well.

hey arin read the article in the new four wheeler it tells you how to properly do a four link. I know that you are not do ing that but some of the math equations will help you determin the length of your radius arms.
