6" lift, 31s, new botom end on motor w/H.V. oil pump (400 C.I.), new bearings and seals in rear end, needs installation of new front end (dana 44) used one is included, C-6 auto tranny, split sunroof with removeable pannels, Pioneer CD player, new 32 gallon tank- needs correct sender for this tank, it's got some rust but is very solid, yadda yadda yadda... any questions PM me or post 'em here. serious inquiries only. the truck is located in SW minnesota and the reason for selling is because i found a newer bronco that would be more practical as a daily driver. (the '79 is not currently my daily driver)

Who make the lift? All spring or blocks?
How much are you looking for?

Hmm... 31's and needs a front axle installed. I'd guess he wants between $500 to $1000

scroll back up, read my post, and you will find that that they are 33 s
I've done a bunch of work to it, and i've got a bunch of money stuck into it, so i'd like to get at least 1500. and it's a rancho lift- half block/half spring. I think it's a 3" spring lift on a 3" block lift.

EDIT: Oops... I DID type "31s" didn't I.... well I meants 33s.

so far... seems everybody likes to talk about the 78-79 as the favorite body style and the best built bronco and so on and so forth, but i've been trying to sell this thing for about 6 months now without much serious interest. And i know if i parted it out people would b**** about destroying a perfectly good bronco, and i know i couldn't bring myself to do that!

PLEASE SOMEBODY GIVE THIS BRONCO A GOOD HOME!!!
My parents won't get off my back about getting rid of it.

Nah... i don't think I'll do that since my dad just bought me a '57 studebaker president as a project car, and they're helping me pay my tuition, and well, i'm ashamed to admit it, but they pay just about everything. It sucks to take handouts, and i really wish i didn't have to, so i'll do all i can to help them out. besides, they're also supportive of my decision to sell my '79 bronco, my '93 mustang, and 2 parts crown vics and get a newer bronco!

Getting close to my range. If I didn't just buy my 78 for $1500 and F250 parts truck (including front D60!) for $300 I'd pick it up.
Need to make my Bronco II and van go away..

would you consider a trade for an 89 eddie bauer, my brother is trying to sell it, he lives in oshkosh, but it might be worth it.

Mn460Bronc

Very tempting at $500. So what is wrong with the front end? I'm getting a D60 front ready for my 78 so may have one to swap in.

Yeah, we should do some wheelin. Where is Westbrook?

I am very interested- i am selling my bronco and some other vehicles to buy an 87-91 bronco, so a trade would be great. do you have any pics? what's the drivetrain? any rust? how many miles? minimal/no rust and a 5.0/AOD is what i want. lets talk some dealin'

westbrook is between marshall and worthington- in southwest minnesota. but i'm living in downtown minneapolis right now- just 2 blocks straight south of the 'dome. I'm taking classes at north central university. :rockon

I'm not entirely shure what the deal with the frontend is... the outer ujoints are shot (naturally) and last time i tried to engage the 4x4the front end momentarilly locked up causing me to break my rear u-joint. i'm pretty sure there's alot of slop in the pinion bearing too. this truck had one rough life before i got it, and i've done NOTHING but fix on it in the time i've had it, and now that i've got almost everything fixed, i realized that it's just not practical for me right now. i love it and it's a great truck, but it's gonna sit for quite a while until i can get back to doing anything with it so i'd rather sell it so someone else can enjoy it.

like i said, it's an 89 eddie bauer, 302, AOD, automatic hubs and push button 4x4, p/w, p/l, heat, a/c, all that. nice interior. black and tan, very nice looking truck. motor runs good, leaks a little oil from somewhere, has some blowby, to be expected. i'm not sure on the miles, the tranny is starting to slip. might need some work. very solid body, rear wheels have less than a year on them, good tread yet. i'll talk to my brother and see if i can get him on here.

the stereo isn't much- just a pioneer cd player with 2 jensen speekers. i'd like to keep the cd player, but the speakers will go with it.

So is it roadworthy in 2wd?

don_quixote
11-16-2004, 10:13 PM
pretty much, yes. maybe i'm just a pansy, but i never felt comfortable at speeds over 45 in it. the steering's kinda loose (it's 25 years old!) and it vibrates. i think it needs a new rear driveshaft- it's a telescoping driveshaft and i think it's worn out in the telescoping part. but it has new u-joints

also- i fixed the problem with the sending unit. it had the correct fuel sending unit now for the 32 gallon tank.
