Just wanted to share this little quick tip I used yesterday to get my top off all alone w/out any scratching the body/paint or myself.
rockon WORK SMART, NOT HARD!!! rockon
Requires 4 tie-down straps, one garage w/lifting door (not sliding), must be able to get Bronco into garage a few feet.
1. Disconnect all hardware holding down the top.
2. Slide the top towards the back of the Bronco, about 1.2 - 2 ft.
3. Open Garage Door
4. Hang tie-straps, 1 on each of the 4 corners fully extended.
5. Pull Bronco (SLOWLY) under open garage door until tie straps can be reached from inside the Bronco.
6. Connect tie-straps to each of the 4 corners of the top, tighten enough to take up slack.
7. Go back to each corner, lift top slightly and pull tie-straps tight again.
8. Pull Bronco out of Garage SLOWLY.
9. LOWER the top from it's hanging position on the Garage door track/frame to the floor slowly and carefully... a few feet on each corner progressively.
(DISCLAIMER: DO NOT STORE TOP HANGING IN THIS POSITION!!! Could result in damaged Garage Door, Garage Door Frame, Bronco Top, Bronco Owner or worst of all... Bronco Owners loved ones.)
10. Figure the rest out on your own... I'm going out TOPLESS BABY!!!! rockon
