Have everyone put there input of what is needed, not needed, what you may need. What you should do incase of such and such. Whats the proper way to do this or that. When alot of info is compiled, organize it and set it up as a referece guide.

Heres a good one, when your out wheeling and you see a burnt up or bashed up truck in the woods, do something about it besides flipping it over, running it over or anything stupid like that. Clean up after yourselves and other not so bright people as well.

Two things that I think are the most important, that I carry all the time whether off road or on road, are a first aid kit and fire extinguisher.

If you've ever wheeled with Joe you'd know that even with all that, he still doesn't have everything. How about some C-Clip pliers Joe. Oh yeah, and a trailer to haul that stuff with you. That's why there's no room for a passenger. That dam drive shaft rides up front with the axel's.

The most importand item is the BFH. Not only can it "fix" ****led fenders and other truck parts, but in a total disaster can be used as an anger management tool to smash the  s**t  out of things when you realize you could have avoided the problem in the first place.

a sleeping bag and some tarps (maybe even a small tent tucked away somewhere) water purifier, nylon cord, snack food

unfortunately sometimes ya just gotta spend the night .. whether ya like it or not. If you are mountain wheeling/backcountry there's a good chance you might not be able to make a climb or crossing if it decides to rain heavily for a coupla hrs...little flash flood and runoff..have to wait a few hours/overnight till it clears/drys a little...without a top on, that can suck hard

I smoked, drank and did drugs and I LOVED IT! Until I started to cough up blood, bloody nose out of nowhere, got caught stealing money, was almost shot by a crack head, got cheated too many times by pharmacists, coughed for at least 30 minutes before I fell asleep and when I woke up I couldn't breath, started to get painful muscle spazims. And the worse! My stomach couldn't stand one lil shot of brandy without having to throw up!

I'll still have a few beers here and there. Killed too many brain cells, if take one more hit off a joint I'll probably be a vegetable. Acid flashbacks still haunt me. The only thing I really miss is the smoking. That was the one joy in my life aside from the aches, coughing and chest pains. I wish I could smoke and have nothing happen to me.

I certainly don't want to tell anyone how to live their lives, I just wanna share what I've been thru. I just woke up one day and decided that I want to actually enjoy what's left of my life being healthy.

OK.......... I have read some of these lists and links, and man I hope there are some stretch Bronco limosines with big deisel Catipillar motors in them to hual around all this crap. Now, I am not saying that all the items listed are bad, but some things have double duty.

i.e. Somewhere someone wrote potholders in there *kitchen Supplies section* (wont even go into why you would bring a kitchen) and then they wrote Pleirs down in there tool kit, umm color me stupid but a pair of pleirs IS a pot holder, in a pinch so is a damn stick.

I try to carry a good list of stuff 99% of the time, everyday. M.R.E.'s (Meals Ready to Eat) Axe, Shovel, Sledgehammer, Ok. But some things you can downsive, like Japanese cars and sexual organs (Smaller and Quicker) I want enuff stuff to survive but still have some cargo room for perishable items like beer and wimmen. I want to feel confident that if I am driving down the road and I make a right turn were there is no road that I will be ok.

People listed big serving spoons, spatula's, all kinds of stuff.

Hunting Supplies?? Ok, if you are going hunting, not and you think you might need to kill for food to survive, .357 magnum works fine.

I would like to see, a real world list. Something that takes into account weight, and space. And I do relaize that for some people some things are more important then others. But just like on the Cheesey Survivor show, you only gets a few luxury Items.

 Hope I didn't drag you all back to the topic

I'd have to agree with a lot of these guys that there isn't enough room for all of this nonsense.

For those of us with 86's and older should probably bring along some starting spray.

It'd also probably be a good idea if you're going with one vehicle to bring a mountain bike and a backpack. Unless you're really that deep in, it's a quick and easy way to get out to a main road and hopefully find a store.

Also flares or a flare gun, you never know who else is around.

Some kind of protection, you never know who else is around.

A Jumper Kit, basically a spare battery fully charged. Good if you're by yourself, or cables won't reach.

And just to state the obvious, because it haven't seen it, extra gas.

It's a good idea to have a map, or some kind of aerial photo of the area too.

One addition I'd have to these extreme lists is a device for lifting a truck out of water. I'm not sure what it is, but I know fire departments have them. Kinda like a self inflating raft, and has more than enough power to lift a bronco. Only saying this cuz I recently had an experience where it would have helped a lot. Hi-lift was pushing burrowing into sand instead of lifting, and even the damn tow truck was getting pulled in too. The only way we could have lifted it out would have destroyed the entire top of the truck.

You may think it is nonsense stuff. but I know my list is very tight. I carry it all because I know I might need it. when I am on a trail 30 miles from the closest house I wanna know I can fix what I break. Not have to wait 2 days for a friend to go get parts while I stare at it jerking off all night.

So bring a woman......... if you get stuck she can push too.

On a more seroius note, I think, duration of the trip, terrian, and time of year ie climate make a difference in what you bring.
