CasterTroy 11-01-2004, 04:38 PM So we reuse out existing pulley? Or buy a new one?
Man this sounds AWESOME!
92-96, is this plug in and go?
Fireguy50 11-01-2004, 04:43 PM reuse original pulley if it doesn't come with one.
92-96 should be a plug in, but you'll need a larger charge cable like on my site.
The original cable will melt and catch fire.
CasterTroy 11-01-2004, 04:46 PM you'll need a larger charge cable like on my site.

Andy351 11-02-2004, 06:59 PM ryan could you PM me or IM me what all i'd need to buy (alt and your wiring kits) and how much it would cost? i have been waiting for a special like this.
Slightly off topic here but whats the recommended gauge to run with those 200A alt's?
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 12:22 AM Here is MY web site SALE (it has paypal option ready)
http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=70
It has pictures, open your hood, and pick which alt will fit your vehicle
Here is MY web site for the cable (talks about what size to use)
http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=67
muddy4x4 11-03-2004, 02:11 AM A while back I heard that a 200a alternator would harm my computer system. Is this true fireguy?
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 03:25 AM not true.
My charge cable is fused, if that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. :hug
Dave's Bronc 90 11-03-2004, 09:12 AM STUPID QUESTION: I've heard of 95 amp 3G's and 135 amp 3G's, this is the first time I have ever heard of a 200 amp 3G. Would it be fair to say that the term 3G is actually a designation for an alternator case size, rather than an actual model of alternator? I hope that is the case, because it if not I am more confused than I thought.
Dustin 11-03-2004, 09:39 AM how do they do with low speed wheeling? do they get too hot from a lack of air flow?
plug ugly 11-03-2004, 11:05 AM can we paypal you Ryan, or you want cash/check?
well?
rem_243 11-03-2004, 12:48 PM well?
Go here
http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=70
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 01:03 PM 3G means Ford 3rd generationalternator
I have a lot of pictures on my site: http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=63
The 200A model uses the same a 148mm frame as the 130A model
But it has better stuff inside (Diodes, Rectifier, ect)
Dustin I'm going to have one tested before I ship them.
Plug, you can paypal on the site I posted above. (use the bottons on the mouse next to your keyboard)
http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=70
I'd rather not take checks, as the sale is so short. Waiting on the mail and banks isn't something I want to do.
miseroth 11-03-2004, 01:47 PM Would you prefer not to receive payment by way of money order either?
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 02:53 PM Depends on how fast you send it.
I just found out they do come with a 6rib pulley, re-use your original V pulley if needed
plug ugly 11-03-2004, 04:08 PM ryan, any issues with running a double pulley to run my york> How are the bearings? I have not had any issues with my stock alt, but in talking with chevyboat this AM, he informed me of issues he has had in the past.
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 06:00 PM I ran a dual V-belt on my 3G long ago. It spun the smog pump on my 86 5.0L for a year
I changed the pulley for my new serp 5.8L
Same alt, still no problems
AND, there is a triple V belt pulley specific to the 3G, so people have done it. :shrug
seboh 11-03-2004, 06:56 PM do they get too hot from a lack of air flow?
Yes. 3Gs all suffer from a too-small case (no sink), poor air circulation, and too-small bearings. Pop, pop go the diodes.
plug ugly 11-03-2004, 07:46 PM I thought I had heard about them overheating. Is there a fix shawn?
Dustin 11-03-2004, 08:38 PM Yes. 3Gs all suffer from a too-small case (no sink), poor air circulation, and too-small bearings. Pop, pop go the diodes.
I knew I heard that from someone :brownbag
I was really liking this deal but Im not liking that burning up issue
axaviere 11-03-2004, 10:13 PM they say the chevy 140 amp alt from ambulances and severe duty vehicles is a good deal. you may want to try that.
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 11:18 PM I'M WRITING THIS SO ALL MY FREINDS KNOW WHAT IS GOING DOWN.
I JUST SENT JOE AN EMAIL. THIS IS THE VENDOR FORUM
I'M SIMPLY PASSING ON A GREAT DEAL I WAS OFFERED TO YOU (MY BRONCO FAMILY)
IF PEOPLE WANT TO CHAT ABOUT 3G ALTERNATORS, TAKE IT SOME WHERE ELSE
I'M NOT MAKING ANY MONEY ON THIS DEAL, I'M A VERY BUSY PERSON, WITH OTHER PROJECTS THAT DO PAY THE BILLS. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR ENERGY TO DEBATE THE 3G AGIAN.
I'M SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING REFUNDING EVERYONE AND CALLING IT OFF.
Dustin 11-03-2004, 11:35 PM didnt mean to piss in your cheereos dude but I was just trying to get a question answered that is all.
Fireguy50 11-03-2004, 11:59 PM You asked a general tech / debate question.
If you want to ask about:
Shipping
Cost
Customer service
Expected shipping date
Multiple product discounts
I wouldn't get upset.
but come on Dustin, your not a newb. There are past thread you can search, or if you can't find it make a new post in the general tech question forum.
I read the Vendor forum rules, and assumed these would not get filled up with 3 pages of stuff not pertinent to the sale.
I’m offering my Cheerios on to you, so don’t get an attitude about it. Other Vendors read these as well, don’t give them a bad example here. If Joe agrees, maybe we can move all this to another thread in the general area, to clean sale post up.
plug ugly 11-04-2004, 12:38 AM Hold on Ryan. I think you need to take a step back here.
Like any business, if you are trying to sell a product, regardless of other threads, etc, people have the right to know AND ask about certain characteristics and qualities of said product. Its called shopping and consumer awareness.
I would imagine, that everyone interested, would rather see you address potential problems with discussion/answers rather than yelling at us telling us to go find out the information elsewhere. IMHO, the vendor forum is a place, for people like yourself, to market and sell a product. As i am sure you are aware, whilst shopping for products, consumers have questions and concerns. I assure you , that before I spend 150 bucks, I am going to research any product. I would surmise that the vendor forum rules are more geared toward the vendor rather than the buyer. Shit, look at PBB and all the questions, etc that go on in there forums.
Again, just IMO, but someone who may not know that you have been on the variety of forums (all or most of them anyhow) and have always been honorable and helpful may be somewhat put off by your retort here. I know I am, and I "know" you from these forums.
Take this as you will, I dont mean to stir the pot, but a 1 year warranty from a place other than down the street worries me and prolly others. Particularily when I am hard on stuff and money doesnt come easy when you are a mere civil servant.

EXACTY!
I wasent trying to debate anything, I had a question about the PRODUCT that was being sold and wanted some INFO from the SELLER.
F it I dont even care anymore......
Fireguy50 11-04-2004, 01:41 AM I would imagine, that everyone interested, would rather see you address potential problems with discussion/answers rather than yelling at us telling us to go find out the information elsewhere.
What is the point of the tech section then?
Why do we have post like this:
http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26658
How hard do I have to try to help my friends?

I don't go to PBB much, never seen their vendors section.
If you opened the above post, and seen it before....
Why do I have to go over this issue agian?
Why couldn't the people that have questions like overheating go to that post?
Why do I have to prove or disprove something after all I've done for this forum?
I don't think my request or irritation is out of line.
Again, just IMO, but someone who may not know that you have been on the variety of forums (all or most of them anyhow) and have always been honorable and helpful may be somewhat put off by your retort here. I know I am, and I "know" you from these forums.
Honestly, I don't care. I'm currently in talks to grow with another larger company. So my current stress level is higher than normal.
Also this sale isn't for any john doe. I got the sale flyer from one of my suppliers. Instead of tossing it in the trash, I'm passing this to my friends.
If my friends want to get attitudes, I won't bother with the hassle.
Take this as you will, I don’t mean to stir the pot.
:beer I guess I'm just not feeling appreciated. I don't really need or want a thank you. Just don't bite the hand that feeds you. Make any sense :shrug
The statement "all 3G's have overheating issues" is pure BS in a vendor forum. :bs
But a 1 year warranty from a place other than down the street worries me and probably others. Particularly when I am hard on stuff and money doesn’t come easy when you are a mere civil servant.
That is the warranty they are giving me. The fact that it isn't long enough for you is a valid issue I would welcome. Some places give long warranties on poor quality products that need replacement often. Other companies give honest warranties on products that will last. Some warranties are exactly how long the product will last.
I'll try to look into the manufacturer Prime Automotive more. I talked to the rep about this; let me know if you have a problem. I call them, and they send me a return form. Fill it out with the alt, we get a new one.
Dustin 11-04-2004, 09:53 AM Why do we have post like this:
http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26658
thats all you had to post bro and we could have avoided this whole mess. Im sure that thread helps others in there decision to buy as well so it could have been usefull in your orginal post. yeah I could have searched for it but IMO should have been something you should have posted here to allow people to learn a little about the product you were selling. There was no need to get all pissed about it, honestly I dont think I would buy one now from you cause of the response I got in just trying to get info about it.
95 BXL 11-04-2004, 01:14 PM Now, back to the alternator set up....
Anticipating going with the 135 amp alternator, I ordered the 175 amp set up from you on Oct 25 (PayPal) Last night, I ordered one of these alternators.
I don't know that it shipped. If it hasn't shipped, can you substitute the 200 amp set up and send that instead, along with the Alternator?
Fireguy50 11-04-2004, 03:25 PM Sorry Dustin :shrug :beer

I called Fed Ex, they are stopping the package, and returning it to me.
I'll change the cable for your new 200 amp alternator. Ship everything out togeather.
jopes 11-04-2004, 03:25 PM Man what a pisser. anyways. Damon and anyone else who is looking for a modified alternator your just simply not going to end up with a life time warrentee. I have looked at probably 5-10 different online vendors when shoping for a 200 or even a 220 amp alternator. they all warrentee them for 1 year, some 6 months, some do not even want to warrente it for 30 days. But if you buy a stock 130 amp G3 from the same builders they typically give you life time warrentee with it.
a 200 amp G3 for $150 shipped is a killer deal.
Alot of stuff you buy has no warrentee in wheeling. somethings have life time warrentees, some have less. You have to decide what you want. I know my stock 3G has never let me down in the last 2 years. it was a $15.00 pick and pull one. Maybe I got lucky maybe I didn't. But none the less I am really wanting to get one of these from Ryan and I hope he truely decides to keep this open to us instead of refunding everyones money because you people are giving him greif.

gobucs 11-08-2004, 06:53 PM Am I going to need bigger battery cables ( have duel batt) and or other bigger wires? When is the deadline to order?
Fireguy50 11-08-2004, 10:07 PM yes the larger cable or second double up cable is a MUST.
200amps is way too much electricty for a 10G wire.
Deadline will be around thanksgiving weekend.

Clarko 11-10-2004, 10:23 PM Hey Ryan, I have a question. Since the 3Gs are from the 94-95 stang, will this fit on a 95 Mustang Cobra's wiring or do I have to modify something. Also, I have a bunch of questions to ask you about some wiring so can I just contact you on AIM or should I email you?

the wiring harness is the same, the charge cable is not big enough.
Send me an email, if I get the time, I'll try to help.

regular 130A Junkyard 3G output:
http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/public/alternator/Alt-max_output.jpg
200A 3G output:
http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/public/alternator/Alt-200_output.jpg
it maxed out the 200amp gauge :D
kf4amu 11-13-2004, 04:02 AM Ryan why is RPM not the same? (I'm assuming the bottom gauge is RPM). Looks like 100 rpm difference, and at 500-600 rpm that is a 20 percent increase. I realize the stock alt wont come close to the 200amp even with an RPM increase, but whats the deal? Just curious. BTW I will order one if funds allow. Getting my ducks in a row now though.

Fireguy50 11-14-2004, 04:04 AM I'm no alt expert. I do know nothing was wrong with either alt tested.
But that was the RPM they maxed out their output.
So, the stock 3G maxed at 5500RPM, the 200Amp 3G kept cranking out more and more electricty. It maxed out the gauge at 6500RPM.

Gotcha...making sure that is the alt RPM correct? Not comparable engine rpm?

Fireguy50 11-15-2004, 12:18 AM YES ALT RPM
It is comparable to egnine RPM:
2000RPM X 6" crank pulley / 2" alt pulley = alt 6000RPM
jopes 11-15-2004, 06:55 PM can you find 2" V belt pulleys for the 3g? all I have been able to find is a 2.5" one so far.
plug ugly 11-15-2004, 07:48 PM what did they put out at 1500 RPM?
rem_243 11-15-2004, 07:56 PM what did they put out at 1500 RPM?
Well if the alternator has a 2" pulley and the crank is a 6" pulley like in Ryan's previous post, then the alternator would put out 138 amps at 1500 engine RPM's
jopes 11-16-2004, 01:12 AM I have had my stock 3g tested and it puts out 80-85 amps at 900 rpm idle in my bronco. around 1400-1500 if I remember right it was 133 amps which was the max output.
Fireguy50 11-16-2004, 02:12 AM can you find 2" V belt pulleys for the 3g? all I have been able to find is a 2.5" one so far.
No, I don't see anything that small avalible to me.
With the right washer, you might be able to use a smaller pulley off a different alt.
what did they put out at 1500 RPM?
engine or alt RPM :shrug
The alt I watched being tested, did not slack off before it maxed out.
The needle kept climbing.
plug ugly 11-16-2004, 02:27 PM engine, sorry. I am just wondering what the alt would put out at crawl speeds, or if I need to look into a smaller pulley as well.
rem_243 11-16-2004, 02:42 PM Well if the alternator has a 2" pulley and the crank is a 6" pulley like in Ryan's previous post, then the alternator would put out 138 amps at 1500 engine RPM's
It should be about 140 Amps if the alternator puts out 200 amps at 6000 alternator rpm's.
Fireguy50 11-16-2004, 06:13 PM engine, sorry. I am just wondering what the alt would put out at crawl speeds, or if I need to look into a smaller pulley as well.
The only reason for a large pulley is so you can rev the engine up, or free up 5HP.
For us trucks never going over 4500RPM, I would us the smallest pulley avalible.
They come with a 2" 6rib serp pulley
jopes 11-16-2004, 09:18 PM It should be about 140 Amps if the alternator puts out 200 amps at 6000 alternator rpm's.
of all the high amp alternators I have shopped seems all the 200 amp models of the 3g put out between 85 and 105 amps at idle. nothing more if you find one thats kicking 140 amps at idle let me know I want to get one.

Thought thats what i said? :shrug
I just want an alt that puts out as much juice as possible at lower rpms. If a 130 and 200 say put out the same at idle or 1500 rpm, then I would just assume stay at 130 and save the money.
rem_243 11-17-2004, 12:06 AM of all the high amp alternators I have shopped seems all the 200 amp models of the 3g put out between 85 and 105 amps at idle. nothing more if you find one thats kicking 140 amps at idle let me know I want to get one.
I was just getting that number off of what fireguy had posted, but it looks like i must not understand how alternators work. if the alt put out 200 amps at 6000 alternator rpms, that would be 2000 engine rpms if the alternator pulley is 2" and the crank pulley is 6". (is that right or not?)
so according to that, 1500 engine rpms would be 4500 alternator rpm's. So if the alternator puts out 200 amps at 6000 alt rpm (2000 engine rpm), then it would put out 138 amps at 4500 alt rpm's (1500 engine rpm's).
Or is that totally wrong. Sorry if i put out some faulty information, without knowing the subject better. :brownbag :brownbag
plug ugly 11-20-2004, 04:34 PM so what do these things put out at idle, the same as my stock 95 amp model?
Fireguy50 11-20-2004, 06:27 PM :shrug I don't have that information. I can guess it's over 100, but I can't say it as fact.
I'm pretty sure it's more than a 95A 3G
RLKBOB 11-24-2004, 05:58 PM Are you still taking orders? I'll also be getting the cables and I want to get the egr/evr/tab/tad eliminator resistors, do I need to order them separate or can I order them all together?
Fireguy50 11-24-2004, 08:31 PM Yes, still taking orders. I'll end it this weekend some time.
Just keep adding stuff to the cart before you go to checkout
RLKBOB 11-25-2004, 12:36 AM I'll order tomorrow after I measure and see exactly how long of a charge cable I want. I didn't see the tab/tad specifically listed. Does the "actuator eliminator" work for the evr,tab and tad?
Since I'm eliminating the egr and thermactor system and all associated crap is there anything else you would recommend deleting in addition to these few things to clean things up under the hood?
Fireguy50 11-25-2004, 12:53 PM I just added: Can also be used to eliminate the TAB, TAD & CANP
RLKBOB 11-25-2004, 08:27 PM I just ordered mine along with the other stuff. Paid with Paypal.
RLKBOB 11-28-2004, 05:33 PM Ryan, I was wondering why the alternator came up at $140 plus $15 shipping when I added it to the cart? No $5 is not a big deal but the add says $135; oh I know you're charging me extra for all the info you've given me over the last couple years. Just curious.
gobucs 11-28-2004, 09:13 PM He said he would refund any price difference, mine was 140 too.
Ryan is 4 guage battery cable good enough with a new 6 guage charging line?
RLKBOB 11-28-2004, 11:04 PM I bought his 3G harness and charging cable and I'm gonna make 1/0 or 2/0 battery cables.
Fireguy50 11-29-2004, 12:22 AM I'm going to end the sale tomorrow and place the order
Ryan, I was wondering why the alternator came up at $140 plus $15 shipping when I added it to the cart? No $5 is not a big deal but the add says $135; oh I know you're charging me extra for all the info you've given me over the last couple years. Just curious.
I didn't want to change my shipping charge scale for all my customers.
If you only bought the alternator, it was $140 + $10 shipping
If you bought other stuff, the shipping went up like this:
$10 for orders $50-$150
$12 for orders $150-$200
$15 for orders $200-up
He said he would refund any price difference, mine was 140 too.
Yes, I have math to do this week :cry
Ryan is 4 guage battery cable good enough with a new 6 guage charging line?
:shrug what is good enough :shrug
I sell 2 guage charge cables for the alternator, that is my recomended minimum for the 200A alternator
4 sorta small in my opinion. I use 2/0 for my power cable, 1 for my ground cables, and 2 for my starter motor cable. Bigger always makes stuff broghter and faster :beer
You should hear my starter, it sounds like the gear isn't contacting, it's that fast :thumbup
RLKBOB 11-29-2004, 01:00 AM OK gotcha, My order was over $200 (I had to get the other goodies I've been talking about since I was already spending money)
Franklin 12-01-2004, 11:29 AM Ryan, just left you a message to see if I can still jump on this. Benn out of town off and on w/ business issues. Buzz me back and/or I will continue to try to reach you.
gobucs 12-01-2004, 12:42 PM I will just have to use 2/0 for it all then. It is alot cheaper than I thought it would be. Thanks for the help Ryan.
88RED351 12-03-2004, 10:31 PM Would this be a plug and play on an 88 Bronco 5.8L?
RLKBOB 12-04-2004, 12:15 AM Would this be a plug and play on an 88 Bronco 5.8L?

95 BXL 12-20-2004, 09:33 PM /me is chomping at the bit.
Fireguy50 12-21-2004, 02:44 AM The last 3 were back ordered, I'm still waiting.
NO I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE!
You had to pay to get one, I don't have money
95 BXL 12-21-2004, 03:31 AM Time frame?
gobucs 12-23-2004, 02:46 PM Ryan or somebody...
on your weather pack harness what wire do I cut and connect to your green wire. On my 91 I see it would be a green wire but on my 79 the wiring is basic and I don't want to mess the alt or the truck up doing something stupily wrong.
Is it the single wire (not charge black wire) with the red cover from the back of the alt?
Back of alt has charge wire, another single wire on post, and two wires on another post.
reptillikus 12-27-2004, 06:38 PM Time frame?
:stupid
95 BXL 12-28-2004, 01:13 AM :stupid
I'm pawing at the ground, here....
EvlErn69 01-06-2005, 11:57 PM if you get more let me kno.. im interested too
RLKBOB 01-10-2005, 08:36 PM I sent him an email a few days ago at Fordfuelinjection.com and still no reply. I don't just need the alternator, I also ordered the resistors to eliminate the egr valve and tab,tad solenoids and I'm starting to pull the old 302 now (FINALLY) so I'm gonna need all that crap soon. Hope he comes through soon this is going on 2 months now for me, probably over 2 months for some.
85f150 01-10-2005, 11:57 PM i ordered from him a week or so ago, and just bought a mega fuse and hlder and i hand it within the week :shrug
RLKBOB 01-12-2005, 05:44 PM Got it all today :chili:
Davids78Bronco 01-12-2005, 07:21 PM It's taken two months, and you two live in the same state ?!
RLKBOB 01-12-2005, 07:37 PM It had nothing to do with where I live. I probably was the last one to order(the end of November) so I'm sure I was at the end of the list to receive mine. Didn't matter though, my Bronco has been sitting for a long time waiting for this 351 to go in. I finally pulled it in the garage this past weekend to get started on the swap so this came just in time. I'm still waiting on my Bassani headers(they are on back order too) and my BBK throttle body to show up and then I'll be in business. :chili: :chili: :chili:
Vvvvrrooooooooooooommmmm!!!
Fireguy50 01-13-2005, 12:48 AM That brand went bankrupt after the sale.
Alternator warehouse didn't tell me
I had to track down a different brand on my own.
So I have alternators agian.
Life goes on
miesk5 01-14-2005, 02:19 PM Ws this thread edited recently?
I have a reason to ask btw...not to flame or stir it up.
Ayway, glad all is good now
Shalacko 01-15-2005, 09:28 PM Ryan, I have still not gotten mine have been out of town since last Friday just got home today no package no notice. Would you please email or PM me the tracking number so I can find out if FedEx has my alt.

So does that mean i will get my alt (and other stuff) now? :shrug
Shalacko 01-20-2005, 07:32 PM Fireguy it has been four days since I asked you for an update on my alt. I am the only one who ordered a new style alt is that the reason I have not received it yet? You received my $187.00 on Nov 14th we are now two months out on this.
Note to joe@fullsizebronco from email I sent you with no reply from you:
Joe not having problems getting on the board. I am having a problem getting my alt and wiring from Fireguy. Even though he said all where shipped I still have not gotten mine and have asked for tracking number but have not gotten that from him either. I would also like to know why the thread discussing the troubles we have had in getting info and product from him was removed from the vendors review thread. Does the board treat members that are vendors differently than vendors who are not members? I understand removing the personal info but the rest should stay to let all future and current members evaluate if they want to do business with Fireguy.

no we do not treat vendors differently, the thread wasnt removed because of its questioning of fireguy, it was removed because it got stupid and had nothing to do with its initial intent, Ryan's initial thread is still in the vendor forum to post and reply too, Ryan's vendor status has been revoked for the time being, he has asked me to call him but i havent had the time yet, this however should have nothing to do with his response or lack of to you or any one else, Ryan, please update those still requesting it!

Clarko 01-22-2005, 08:02 PM Let me know if you do another one, Ryan. I'll for sure order one, or two, or three depending on if my Stang's running by then.
reptillikus 01-25-2005, 11:30 PM mine came in yesterday :thumbup
95 BXL 01-26-2005, 04:16 PM Both my cable and alt arrived this a.m. Thanks, Ryno... much appreciated.
AND.... I've now installed it an it's looking good.... voltage needle steady as a rock even at slow idle, nothing makes the needle move... lights on/off, heater on/off... turn signal.... nothing.
Now to get 2nd battery and get my 1400 watt transformer wired in....
I'll be ordering another cable/fuse alternator package from you middle of next month for my 90.
Tomh971 04-20-2005, 12:02 AM seems to me the 160 amp models would still be a huge upgrade over the stock 95A models... I may have to pick one up too... if you still have them...
Tom
Fireguy50 04-20-2005, 12:34 AM I have 6 of the 160 amp models in stock right now:
