I'll give the link to my website, it has a sorta detailed write up on how I installed the EFI 460 into my Bronco, and some tips and tricks for doing it (I hope :) )

I purchased them from North Shore Off Road, about 4 years ago, I beleive they were close to $200

other than that if you are pulling an EFI 460 swap, it's not that hard, depending on what year of Bronco that you are trying to put it into.

78-9 - farily easy, Trans bolts right up, just have to run new fuel lines for the EFI system

80-82 - 351M same as 78-9

80-86 - Any other, have to change trans, to fit Big Block bolt pattern, also have to run new fuel lines for the EFI system

87-96 - Have to either get a C6/E4OD for auto, or a Big Block Manual Trans to mate up with the 460

Will the right side rocker cover of the engine hit the a/c blower housing on a '79

it should not, I beleive they are the same hight as the pre 88's and if that is the case, then there is not a problem

One of the questions I have is.With out the electronic trans will the ECM set a code and not allow the engine to perform.I found one out of a 94 truck,w/auto trans. Can the ECM be reprogramed as if in a truck with standard trans

now..... what year engine and computer did you use? (oops, saw 94 there)

as long as you either have a C6 trans or a Manual trans, you will have no problems, if you have the E4OD, you'll start to run into problems, if it is the E4OD, then talk to Fireguy, he might be able to help you out there,

Bronco has a C6,but truck at the salvage yard has electronic trans. It has a low mileage engine that includes wiring harness, ecm and all pulleys & brackets

the only problem is going to be the Electronic transmission, if the wrecking yard had a mamual transmission wiring harness and computer out of a 93-6 460, that'd work the best, the reason why I didn't say 88-some of 93's is due to the fact of the differences in the way the engine was designed, the 93-97's made more power than the 88-93's

Thats what I thought, so any E4OD that will bolt up to a 460 is set up for one anyway, right?

As long as you get a computer and wiring harness that will allow you to use a E4OD, there were 3 choices in EFi for transmissions, C6, Manual and E4OD, C6 and Manual use one type of computer, and the E4OD use another type, to control the transmission

OK I like this thread even though it is old.

I do have a question.

I have a 84 good Bronco that has a bad 300 I-6 in it.

I also have a 88 bad F-150 that has a good 302 EFI in it.

Would this swap work good? Will the EFI wiring harness be plug & play with the Bronco computer or will the F-150 computer work better in the Bronco with the wiring harness & engine?

I don't want to chop wires it I don't have to, I'm not much of a electrician.
