View Full Version : WANTED: Tilt column for 78 RocKrawler 12-25-2004, 02:57 AM Just what the title says, looking for a bolt in tilt column for a 78 Bronco, preferrably in SoCal or close enough to ship there cheap. Terry 714-932-4444 fordtrucknutt 12-25-2004, 06:43 PM I am in Nashville, Tennessee, a long ways from California. I have a 1978 FORD F-150 SUPER CAB that I am parting out. Tilt column will sell for $125.00 obo. A 3.50 ratio 9 inch rear axle, complete drum to drum, $250.00 obo. Complete front cap (race-track mouldings) without radiator $250.00 obo. Front bench for Bronco-Super Cab $65.00 obo. I am buying the truck to put the 460 engine and raditor into my 1978 BRONCO XLT Monster to get it to pass the emmissions test. I also have other parts available for F-150 Bronco 4wds. You can call me at 615-256-4894 and ask for the FORDTRUCKNUTT. Good luck with your Bronco ! RocKrawler 12-25-2004, 11:57 PM Do you have a 73-77 truck grille? Need one of those badly! fordtrucknutt 12-26-2004, 12:29 AM I can get locally for $200.00 in good shape, without radiator. This includes the radiator support, both headlights, and the turn-signal lights. The 1973-75 turn-signal lights are clear, and the 1976-77 lights are amber orange. Which ever you perfer. I have been looking for the 1973-79 FORD heavy truck doors which have push-button door handles (F-500 to 950 series) regular cab or crew cabs. You will find a different dash with factory round gauges for speedometer, tach, oil pressure, gas gauge, water temperture, amp meter, etc. this dash will unbolt from the truck cab and bolt into Bronco bodies. If your Bronco does not have factory air conditioning, you will find this dash to adapt to your Bronco easier. I have found some truck dashes to have a air pressure gauge for air brakes, which could show you how much air pressure your air pressure storage system has in it for off-road emergencies. Just a idea you might want to try on your Bronco. Ziggy 12-26-2004, 01:04 AM There is a junkyard in OC and San Diego that deal with stricty Ford parts. Thought about putting tilt steering wheel in my '79, But every tilt wheel I've looked at in the junkyard was worn out at the pivot joint. Finally gave up and stayed with my standard steering wheel. fordtrucknutt 12-26-2004, 01:18 AM If you find a 1978-79 Ford pick up Bronco tilt steering column which is not staying in tilt position, it can be fixed with a 35 cent roll pin to stabilize to up and down tilt . If it wobbles side to side, someone has been using the wheel to pull their big fat self into their truck. This can be fixed also by combining a column from a collapsed wreck. I used a tilt column damaged in a wreck to convert my Bronco 4speed column to tilt by cutting down the top of the 4speed column to the length of the tilt column, using the internals of the tilt in the 4speed column and elimating the shift lever parts. And a 2wd tilt column is the same as 4wd, just remove the adapter at the shaft to bolt directly to the 4wd extended shaft to the power steering gearbox. 77fordf150 12-30-2005, 02:40 AM Admin edit - make yourself a part of the group, before offering parts for sale, whether in someone else's threads, or your own. It's all explained here - http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55401 Thank you Mels 12-30-2005, 10:08 AM I've got the plastic grill insert from like a '76 model I think it was.
