jopes 03-04-2003, 02:08 AM body lifts.
I was thinking on a small one. 2 inches, but then I was thinking about a 1 inch one tonight. I really do not need alot more lift.
1 inch body.
1.5 inch front, 2 inch rear suspension should put me in the perfect catagory.
anyone know of any places that sell 1 inch lifts?
dblue351 03-04-2003, 02:32 AM well Don you need to make your own 1 inch BL. They dont sell them. Only 2 or 3! Thats why I went with a 2 inch. As much as I didnt want to!
Jon0807 03-04-2003, 08:35 AM ah go with the 6" coils n leafs!
jopes 03-04-2003, 11:25 AM ah go with the 6" coils n leafs!
Nope, some EB 5.5's and some suspension work on the rear suspension. as well as some more suspension work on the front.

MOUNTAINMAN 03-04-2003, 02:15 PM Go ahead and get a 2" body lift, cut the pucks in half to make it a 1", then send me the other 1" that's left over. (minus the bolts)

How much lift to you expect to get with the 5.5 EB coils?? I'm thinking that it wont be 5.5 'cause the weight diff between the 79 and the EB?? What about spring rate, etc. Wont that be affected by the increased weight? Or do I not know WTF I'm talking about?
jopes 03-04-2003, 04:35 PM yes I will probably net 4" of llift with the EB coils. but I plain on lowering the coil buckets to get the lift I need.
As far as body lifts go. I will probably just use a solid 1" plate of steel with a hold bored in it. and weld them to the frame
I hear a lot of ppl talking about EB coils so they must be the shznit or sumpin? Why all the hype? I'll be really interested to know how it works out for you because I need to get some different coils in the front of mine (unless I do coilovers) because the Superlift coils I have now are stiff as hell.
jopes 03-04-2003, 04:54 PM I used superlifts. Mine have becomed seasoned. they are not so stiff any more.
EB coils have more wrapping of wire making them in effect act like a slinky. They have alot of drop vs the superlift stiffies.

ain't nuthin wrong with that...a 1" block of metal or a 1" block of plastic...not much difference there

Canadian Bronco 03-06-2003, 04:11 AM yes ill confirm 5.5 eb coils will give a fullsize bronc 4"s
EvilBronc 03-06-2003, 04:40 AM We pondered about using 5.5 EB coils for my SAS. I'll have to check the price of them at NSOR. It was $250 CND for 4" 78/79 BDS coils, If the price isn't that much different I just might sway that direction.
WTF? was talking about running Cherokee coils fliped upside down for crazy flex (sorry to let out your secret wepon).
Canadian Bronco 03-06-2003, 05:07 AM WTF?'s crazy ;)
4" for my 81 BDS were 240$(lordco price) that fuggin store is starting to pee me off the have quite a mark up but they have almost everything and anything and a couple guys here actually know what stuff is
unlike crappy tire napa bumper wallyworld junkyards
welndmn 03-07-2003, 01:52 PM Don't buy some 4WPW brand EB coils, coils liek Rancho. superlift and what not for EB's are still crappy,

I emailed Chuck at BCBroncos and he told me that his 5.5 coils on a "big" Bronco would net 2-2.5" of lift. Not enough for me so anyone have any other ideas??

there was a petersons issue which out in 3.5" eb's and they got 2" of lift from them. I would see the 5.5's @ 4 inches of lift.
come awn I mean that are only 160 bux or so.
NOBS! 03-07-2003, 02:36 PM WTF? was talking about running Cherokee coils fliped upside down for crazy flex that's because I made the lower ttb mounts fit the solid arms.most coils with a 3"ID pigtail should work,I still have to experiment though.

Thats kinda the way I was thinking about it...shoot, if they compressed all the way down to 2.5" then there probably wouldn't be much spring left to them.
origin 03-07-2003, 08:26 PM hmmm, lets not talk about Lordco, shall we, I've been screwed around by them, and Napa both, oh well, where else are we gonna get parts from

I got a question :D
how do you know which degree C bushings you should get? If you get ones for a 4" lift, would it prevent the full droop of the axles since the 5.5 coils would drooop further than regular 4" coils? And if you get the ones for 5.5" wouldn't your caster be thrown off when driving on the street?
The C bushings for the 4" lift are the same for all the way up to 9"....both are 7 deg.
BTW - JBG has some "super flex" coils for $140...anyone ever try them? I wonder how they work compared to BC's??

ahhh gotcha ;)
jopes 03-07-2003, 11:51 PM I am running 7 degree, without any radius drop brackets.
Jon0807 03-07-2003, 11:54 PM I thought you'd have the wristed arm by now. or are you gonna do something else?
jopes 03-08-2003, 12:29 AM not really, the wristed arm is still in order.
just other things need to be taken care of first.
Dustin 03-08-2003, 09:51 PM i think I saw somewhere on 4wp where you can just buy the replacment pucks for the BL for cheap. they had them from 1-3in
axaviere 04-09-2003, 04:22 AM yes ill confirm 5.5 eb coils will give a fullsize bronc 4"s there you go...
