How did you guys with 4WABS delete it?

Did you bypass the HCU and/or unplug the computer?

What did you use for a prop valve?

What is the elec connection that plugs into the front of the m/c for? Is it for the ABS and/or Cruise Control? Did you replace it with an m/c without the elec connection on the end or stay with it?

Here's my plan right now... put in a mid-90's F350 booster and M/C (with the elec conn) and get a manually adjustable prop valve. Then, disconnect the hard lines in and out of the HCU and hook them back together with the prop valve? I figure I'll just leave the HCU and computer where they're at if they aren't hurting anything.

I've got a D60 and sterling which is why I want the 1-ton system.

Does this sound like a plan? Anything else?

i have a switch to turn off the ABS. its just a switch wired inline with the fuse. on/off ABS go bye bye.. im running f350 master cylinder and brake booster off of a 95 f350.. same year as my bko. i have the same prop valve on it.. havent had any problems. i think damon switched the prop or did something with it.. i dont remember... maybe he can add some info.

all i did was disconnect the speed sensors and pull the bulb so I didnt have to look at the abs light.

i think damon was the only one to accually bypass all the abs crap

Didn't you lose the ABS when you went to the solid 44 anyway? Why do you still need the switch?

So just to make sure I understand... you're lines hard lines are still going into and out of the HCU?

Don't you still need the pump in the HCU to be activated to blow any air out of the HCU with the Ford scan tool from when you were unhooking the hard lines?

Thanks Raf.

Dustin and Raf, have you had any probs bleeding with the lines still going thru the HCU?

no mines been fine, for he most part I dont think the air getts into the HCU unless you pull the lines of it from there. I only had the lines off going to the caliper and the rear axle and both times Ive been able to bleed it fine.

me have no no on the hcu. get rid of that fawker. It does nothing, and I would be willing to bet you wont even need a prop valve, unless you are running rear discs, which I dont think you are IIRC. All a prop valve does is reduce the pressure to the rear to kkep it from locking up, so unless that is a problem, you dont need one, and can always add it later.
I bent all new brake lines from the mc to the front and rear, though I did tie into the stock rear where there is a union (about under the drivers door). I ran a new line to a single drop line like the old sytle brakes. Much cleaner imo, and will never limit my tavel like the stock dual drop lines.
the only fawker is that ford uses metric stuff now, and used standard back then, so make sure you get you nuts right if you bend new lines.:thumbup

After i get a job i plan on removing that prop valve and redoing the hard brake lines that come out of the MC.. I want to add 2 Wilwood proportioning valves next to the MC so i can adjust the front and rear to my liking..

So after some research, I discovered that the thingy on the pass. side of the m/c is an integrated prop valve... maybe you guys already knew that.

So... my next question... does anybody know what the elec connection is on the end of the m/c-- cruise control and/or ABS.

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I should go with a an older m/c so I can put on an 'external' prop valve or if I need to stay with a late model m/c because I need to keep that elec conn on the end (since the older ones don't have a provision for it).

Damon-- which type are you running (again) ?

Thanks-

im running a 94 f350 IIRC, it does have the plug. I 'think' that plug is for speed control (aka cruise). I am pretty sure I had a discussion about it when i was MC shopping a few years ago.
