Just scroll down and select the file "Warn hub Conversion".
cultex 03-06-2003, 12:31 PM Nice write-up. Is it the same if I have 5 torx bits on my dust cover?
MOUNTAINMAN 03-06-2003, 12:36 PM Nope. All you need is the new hubs. They're a direct swap.
godless 03-10-2003, 12:59 PM Yup, like MM said. Just remove the old hubs and put in the new. there is no need for the three piece conversion kit which was the first three install steps in the write up.
Glad you all like it.
Miketnf150 03-11-2003, 03:41 PM Yeah thanks Beerman!! I will soon be replacing my piece of junk autos :damn: :damn::damn: for warn premium hubs. I am sure it will come in handy!!
And it sux's having to buy the conversion too.....more money!! :flipoff: FORD!!!
godless 03-12-2003, 04:00 PM NP, I hope it helps out.
I know that a lot of people think that hub conversion is to simple to post a write up but hey if you have never done it before then it really helps to have something laid out like that.
I try my best when I do write ups hoping that someday it will be put to good use and maybe eventully it will ge me a vote
Miketnf150 03-12-2003, 04:04 PM Yip yip I know what you mean. I have replaced hubs and did the straight swap on my mom's bronco, that she doesn't have anymore!!! But like you said never hurts to have something to look at.
MUDBIRD65 02-05-2004, 06:14 PM GOOD WRITE UP, helps to see it done, plus i needed the torque spec's
got my Warn premiums at 4wheel parts for $100.0 with conversion kit.
84brownbronco 02-05-2004, 06:21 PM i got my premiums off ebay new for 40 dollars. plus 6 dollars shipping.
godless 02-11-2004, 04:16 PM Wow, havent seen this for a long time.
Good to see that a bunch of people are using it.
jackhart 02-11-2004, 06:37 PM way to go Jer, you help alot of people out, especially ME! damned if I didn't try to replace my auto hubs by myself before I saw this, would have helped me alot. :banghead
BRONKA 02-12-2004, 12:11 AM Hi in my truck i have automatic hubs but in the left side is 3 torkx bolts and the rigth side is 5 bolts . anybody know why is that. nice write -up beerman .
ColoradoBronc 02-12-2004, 02:01 AM Sounds like someone replaced it at one time. Just do the swap to Warns and know that when you need to lock in the hubs, they'll work. :thumbup
miesk5 03-20-2004, 10:30 AM Bman, did you del this article @ your SF site?
If so, can you re-post it there?
Thanks!
MyFullSize 03-20-2004, 11:23 AM Ive got a tech article link in my sig miesk, if you need to see something right away. I swapped Warn standard hubs.

miesk5 03-21-2004, 10:42 AM MY,
yes, I am stuck on Broncos! Had more Links to Tech Articles, but so many have moved onto other vehicles & dropped their sites.
Green94; no conversion kit needed for 5 t screw covered hubs......3 t screws need the conversion kit.....seems Warn for example has changed their Tech Site info and has now confused everyone ... again...
here is one from http://www.4x4cyberstore.com/website/warn_hub_ford.html
"BRONCO & F150
CONVERSION KIT
FOR 3 SCREW AUTO HUBS"
http://www.louisville4x4.com/lockouts.htm
"WHEN REPLACING AUTOMATIC 3 HOLE CAP SCREW HUBS WITH MANUALS, YOU MUST PURCHASE SPINDLE NUT CONVERSION KIT."

Even the instructions say if you have 3 screwes you need a conversion kit. If you have 5, your in good shape, just remove old and install new.
green94 03-21-2004, 07:18 PM Cool ,thanks for the info :thumbup
miesk5 03-21-2004, 07:23 PM flash!..trucky snuck a 3 T screw swap to Warn (http://www.superford.org/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=3749&s=14884#content) in recently...

Sorry dude.. I was under the impression that if you have auto hubs and not the 6 bolts that you would need the conversion kit due to the size of the original nut :shrug Your probably right, as the only experience I've had was with my 86.
