I finished the mock up of a front design for the 80-86 models. Heres a few pics. I have not figured a price for these yet. This is the PROTOTYPE, it is not fully welded out and there are a couple of adjustments yet to be made....
I'll be out of town until the 23rd on a much needed vacation, I'll figure up pricing and make these available when I return. Hope you like.

Thanks,
Mike

what would it take to add some kind of grill protection?

BADASS... i agree though... what kind of grille protection can we expect?

i LOVE the base design, and if you could get a sturdy winch mount going, along with a light bar or upper loop, thatd be perfect. you'd be getting my business with that. the boxiness keeps with the body style.

I like it with the winch set into the grille on this bodystyle..saves on the approach angle

Figure up of a price. Let me know when you get back. I like the look of this bumper more than the othe front bumper. Enjoy your vac, Big Mike.

BigMike,

Are there any pictures of the front bumper for the late model Broncos? What about your rock sliders that you also got offered? I need them to match my new rear bumper! (http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37786)

Cheers!

Sorry still have'nt around to putting the kit together for the late model front bumper yet. I guess I will have to find a late model to do the front prototype off of, my frame was bent in the front when my rig was crashed and endoed. The tooling for my slider design is also going to be a while. It's one thing to build a one off on a rig, but it takes a lot of work to make the design repetable. Check out Dustin's sliders, they are very cool and rock solid. I'm in the process of trying to get my rig rebuilt to make the Dixie chapter "run in the sun" and I also go in for major surgery day after tomarrow (wed.) with a no work for eight weeks after from my Doc. My oldest son is going to help me fill any orders in that period but I dont know if I'll be able to do any design work or not.

any updates on the front design? also, i noticed that the fenders actually hang down BELOW the bumper. whats the plan there?

How bout it Mike. Any updates it's time for a new bumper so I can get a winch on the truck. Hopefully your'e back up and working and feeling OK. I know you had been gettin some help to fill your backorders but I wasn't sure if you were taking on any new work yet.
Thanks Keith

Yes the tips of the fenders hang about 1 1/2" below the bumper, it is not noticable. Theres nothing to be done about that unless I were to increase the width of the bumper, but that would decrease the approach angle. A body lift will help, but raises other issues with this design that I have not worked out yet. My suggestion is is use a sawsall to remove the offending fender part. I'll know a lot more about this design in a couple of weeks as the prototype will be going on my 83/94' rig. Due to the amount of work being done to this rig ( my 94' was crashed and rolled, so the engine, trans, t-case, dash, electronics, axels and interior and being put into an 83' body and frame) I'm not taking any bumper orders until this project is finished. I hope that will be in about another three weeks or so. I have'nt had it in the dirt for nearly a year and am anxious to have it ready for the dixie chapter "run in the sun"
Health wise I am doing good, have had the last of my surgerys and am healing. Doc says about one more month and I'll be able to go back to work. Belive it or not I'm looking forward to that. Ya'll take care and I'll let you know how this design works out and when I will start accepting new orders.............................Thanks, Mike

much appreciation, and im glad the health is getting better. only pushing the idea because i'm really interested, lol. im trying to avoid any fender modifications to my truck, mainly because i spent a lot of time restoring parts of the truck like that. just my 2 cents, i like the strength of a bumper like that, but i also like keeping my truck in pristine condition. any ideas would be great on that one. :thumbup

Due to going back to work and being sent out of state, bumper production has been stopped indefinatly.......................

Sorry, Mike
