View Full Version : Pine Barrens Run
kht428 07-08-2003, 02:46 AM Just trying to see who's interested. I was thinking the last weekend in July before the Charity ride. If anyones interested did you want to do just a oneday run or campout overnight(hot!!!!?) I've started looking into certain areas and trying to find out any info I can on legality after reptilikus voiced concern I've never had a problem but if we get a group of people going it would suck to get stopped or have it turn into a monthly quota meeting for johnny law.
reptillikus 07-08-2003, 07:06 PM Im down for 'wheeling for a day (preferrably Sat.), but i dunno if ill be able to do the whole weekend

I would but I am helping a buddy install a lift kit on an '83 chevy pick up this weekend. More folks I help, more help I should be able to count on when mine comes:thumbup

Thats true, but I wanna make it better. Plus I think from siting I need to replace the oli pump cause the gauge is low and I get a ticking upon start up.
drexelsteve 07-16-2003, 11:45 PM don't waste your time d, put a hi volume pump in my rig......didn't help at all. and i'm runnin strait 30 too.

If your running a High volume pump steve you need an extra deep capacity pan or you might burn out the pump, becuase it is so effiecent there wont be anything left in the pan :D
drexelsteve 07-17-2003, 06:21 PM just waitin till after the next paragon run. if the motor will last till then:shrug I've got an 86 f350, 460-4spd-d60-d70 etc... gonna be doin an awful lot of swappin. if my boat anchor will last till then i'll be happy.
Leonard 07-17-2003, 08:01 PM damn steve your gonna be giving that thing a shot of steroids.
drexelsteve 07-17-2003, 09:11 PM 460's the first project. THen maybe the front n rears. Might not even use the trans n xfer case. Motor's the #1 priority. So are we on for saturday night? i found bnkrtstk on project bronco n invited him over here. Says he knows a few places in the barrens to wheel. Plus he's runnin a 79:rockon

I'm no tour guide, but I know the way to a few mudholes.
reptillikus 07-17-2003, 11:38 PM If ya'll find a good place for us to go that sunday then ill go, but nowhere thats frequented by asshole rangers.....im not exactly street legal:eek:
drexelsteve 07-18-2003, 12:55 AM I'm no tour guide, but I know the way to a few mudholes. thats a start:thumbup
.....im not exactly street legal street legal is a relative term. from what i saw your rig looked ok. what've u had problems with?
bnkrtstk 07-18-2003, 09:16 AM So Sunday the 27th it is right? I am trying to get a few guys from work who know the pines better than me to go. What time and where do you guys meet? Hopefully no later than 9 am.
bnkrtstk 07-18-2003, 10:11 AM Where did you Plan on meeting? We usually meet at the WAWA on Jackson Road in Atco. This way everyone can get lunch or drinks in case they forget on the way down.
Leonard 07-18-2003, 05:30 PM i'm trying for this sat. go through to find good places but i have no idea whats gonna happen some of my friends are going through some rough times and i don't know whats gonna happen.
if we're going to do this at wharton why don't we just meet up at the ranger office of whatever that place is.
bnkrtstk 07-18-2003, 05:52 PM Sounds fine to me. Which one? The one near Atsion Lake on 206?
drexelsteve 07-18-2003, 06:14 PM so does anyone wanna go scout out someplace tomorrow? Is that wawa the one down the street from the raceway? i'm semi-familiar with atco.
reptillikus 07-18-2003, 10:01 PM Steve, i havent had problems yet, but you never know when you will, and those guys down there know their stuff. Im only 2" over the limit, so im not real worried, but i dont have a stability sticker either.
Id go scout with ya tomorrow, but i have a timing cover gasket to do tomorrow:(
Also.....Ive never been down in that area, so could somebody PM me some directions from rt206?
Accessory Man 07-19-2003, 01:02 AM Originally posted by reptillikus

Whaaaa???A limit??? A sticker????? what for???
tommyp 07-19-2003, 11:09 PM :shrug the sticker is a NJ thing, in pa you mainly need a certin bumper height(can't rember)correct tire coverage(flairs as you told me that day at the store)and after a certin height the man requires mud flaps. I have to dig up my State inspection book to be exact. and yes feasterville cops do check ( was given a written warning):goodfinge
Accessory Man 07-20-2003, 12:02 AM Bumper Height is 28" I believe, and Feastervile cops do check for flares, becuase they are bored and have nothing better to do. They don't bother me and they all seem to mention I have a lead foot when they come in the store
:shrug
As for the sticker in Jersey, who cares unless you have Jersey plates right?
reptillikus 07-20-2003, 12:10 AM Yeah, the cops dont care unless you have NJ plates. I could be ticketed for (too much) lift height, no stability papers or sticker, no fender flares (tires stick out), (no) mud flaps, not having covers on my 2 aux. lights up front, and having taillight covers.
Ya gotta love NJ!
Accessory Man 07-20-2003, 12:29 AM So don't they sell fake stickers like they do in Pa for the inspection????
I never liked Jersey, but then again I never liked silly inspection laws either
Leonard 07-20-2003, 04:29 AM yeah inspection laws are ridiculous at least some of them. and in PA its 30" for bumper height and no more then 3" i believe for flares.
reptillikus 07-20-2003, 07:29 PM I know a couple people interested it hookin up with us for the day, maybe 3-4:cool:
Leonard 07-20-2003, 07:53 PM cool, when are we doing this again.
bnkrtstk 07-21-2003, 09:21 AM I can only do it Sunday. My company picnic is Saturday.
Yes that WAWA is the one down the road from the track.
drexelsteve 07-21-2003, 01:52 PM I'd say this sunday'd be good. if we did it next sunday we'd only have a week or so to prepare for paragon. I say better safe than sorry. we could meet at the wawa down the street from atco raceway and go from there. from what mapquest says wharton is only like a few miles from there. If anybody's not sure how to get there we could meet up n cruise down. I'll bring my grill n some burgers. sound good?:shrug
bnkrtstk 07-21-2003, 02:18 PM Sounds good to me. See you at WAWA for any of you coming down 73, just take the jug handle at Jackson Road and make a left. There is a lumber yard on the right and Texaco on the left. Follow it until you see WAWA on the right. Look for a black 79 with winch on the front.
Leonard 07-21-2003, 06:32 PM don't think i'll be able to make this one. gotta do some work on a friends car. but ya never know. if i can make it i'll meet ya'll at the wawa, what time???
bnkrtstk 07-22-2003, 01:10 PM How does 9am sound?
gators0204 07-22-2003, 09:11 PM Im in for this sunday, I think I know where this wawa is.
drexelsteve 07-22-2003, 11:48 PM i'm in:thumbup we'll shoot fro 9 (bare with me if i'm a few min's late, got an A.C trip sat night:rockon) so it's me, gators, bnkrtstk+?...
:shrug
reptillikus 07-23-2003, 07:33 PM EDIT:
i have to back out, i have an as-yet-unidentified electrical issue. I seem to be losing voltage when at idle, and i havent figured out why yet. I dont want to drive an hour or so from home and then not be able to get back.
Leonard 07-23-2003, 10:42 PM yeah i'm gonna have to miss this one as well told a friend i'd do the brakes on thier car, and besides i'm dropping in a new distributor and want to make sure everythings good.
