Got back from the Halifax airport sunday night, and have had time to adjust, and have gallons of Tim Hortons. If any of you have ever thought of going to Cuba, you should definately do it. The food at the resort was plentiful and delicious, as long as you like pork. They seem to include it in every meal, and make a kabillion variations of it. Ocean was clear green and warm, lots of fish, eels, etc to see if you snorkle.
I took tons of pictures of all the old cars running around there. It is a country of contrasts. Id be walking down the street and see a late fourties Buick Roadmaster (the one with the four holes on each front panel) and then a brand new Mercedes right behind it. Lots of gorgeous cars. Plymouth Furys, Desotos, Chev Impalas, Ford Falcons..etc Each one of them in immaculate shape. The Cubans have also been bitten by the ricer bug, I saw alot of Lada's and Hyundai's with metallic tinted windows, chrome plated rims, and fart can mufflers. Who would have thought? I was also really surprised to see ALOT of new (97-2003 style) F-150 pickups. :shocked
Our second day there we did a jungle tour. They let us drive our own vehicles which were brand new Suzuki Vitaras. Im telling you, after the muddy shit I got that thing to go through on the jungle trails, I wouldnt mind buying one! :toothless
Once I get to my sisters scanner, Ill post some pictures from the trip.
