View Full Version : Aug 2 & 3rd. Mud Bog
Sodbuster 07-09-2003, 02:49 AM This will be held in Goldendale, WA. Two lanes (drag style) of mud 3-4 ft deep. There will be four different classes ranging from 33's up to 44's. It'll be a lot of fun. This is our first time doing this so be patient with us. Also and most imprtant, we are limiting it to 100 drivers so if you want in you need to email me and I'll get you signed up. I think this will be a blast even if you just come to watch.
I would like to see alot of members come to this, and it's getting close, so let me know
And afterwards I'm having a BBQ at my house and there might possibly be an alcoholic beverage consumed... alright I'll restock the kegerator.
78bronco460 07-09-2003, 02:55 AM Gimme a spot!
Big Mike C. 07-09-2003, 02:56 AM I'll at least come watch...wouldn't want all the tree huggers to protest the event due to my oil leakage!
Sodbuster 07-09-2003, 03:18 AM If I get time and $$$ then I will have a motor for you before the event. You can bring it down when I take it out and drop in my 429 and we can put my 400 in yours.
I'll get a registrion form so I know for certain what info i need, then if people want to enter you can email me with your info and I'll sign you up.:thumbup
Big Mike C. 07-09-2003, 03:34 AM Sounds tempting...how are you at tranmission rebuilds? I am goping to do all that is within my power to makew it...I took leave from the 1st through the 5th...The 3rd in my anniversary and the 5th is my Bday!

NAMELESS 07-09-2003, 02:24 PM Lets have Bob push it up a week or the weekend after. Theres still time for that isnt it? That sux its the same weekend.
Crazed 07-09-2003, 02:29 PM That would be nice, but I think alot of peeps have reservations....................Im gonna camp.

That's the beach cleanup weekend, I didn't realize that. Kick me out. Dammit, I love mud draggin.
Sodbuster 07-10-2003, 10:53 PM Wow that was a real disappointment... I really had my hopes up there for a minute. Oh well, your guys loss. I make sure and take loooooots of pictures and not post them, but brag about them alot.
Big Mike C. 07-11-2003, 12:05 AM I too shall take pictures, for as of now...I will be there as a spectator if nothing else...:goodfinge
Davids78Bronco 07-11-2003, 12:09 AM IF this guy, that's wanting my Blazer, comes thru with half the money, soon, then I can finish my Bronco and Dodge, and MAYBE have it done in time for that weekend
I'm not holding my breath, but we'll see
Sodbuster 07-11-2003, 03:16 AM Well Mike I'll sign you up as my pit crew. Or if you want on the front lines I can give you a job flagging the drivers. Do you know anybody who has a set of starting lights?
Big Mike C. 07-11-2003, 09:51 AM Home Depot/Radio Shack
Davids78Bronco 07-16-2003, 06:44 PM I'm going to be trying like hell to get there that weekend. Deposit money for the Blazer will be here today, or tomorrow, and I'll be able to get the Bronco running shortly after that. With the rest of the money, I'll finish the Dodge. If I can't make it, I'll be planning for the Rockcrawl even there, in Sept
Sodbuster 07-20-2003, 07:29 PM Well we have the pit dug, and whatnot. You had better try like hell to get up here David, you too Mike, let me know about your motor, it's not looking like I'm gonna get mine in, in time, bummer
Davids78Bronco 07-20-2003, 07:44 PM Nope, not gonna make it bud... sorry man. Even with the sale of the Blazer, I'm still broke, and will be for who knows how long
Big Mike C. 07-21-2003, 03:01 AM Why does everything dcost so much up here...I want to go home...I am still going to try to limp the Bronco down...how far of a walk would that be?
Sodbuster 07-23-2003, 11:58 PM Not far, you could make it in time to see all the rigs pulling out of the lot.
Why do people from your end of the country piss and moan so much?
Big Mike C. 07-24-2003, 02:04 AM Once you experience the southern lifestyle...bar-b-q and beer...laid back attitude, people willing to give you the shirt off their backs...shade trees...junkyards where I can go in...say I need a oil cap for a 57 Desoto and the guy can tell me exactly where and which car to get it off of...oh well maybe we can discuss it when I come down...you guys protest everything up here so whats the difference?
Crazed 08-01-2003, 01:47 AM What is the exact plan for this? I may try to come spectate on sunday....
Sodbuster 08-01-2003, 03:04 AM Well we got the bog built!!! It looks horrible. I'm not even sure that a rig with enough power to turn 44's could make it through. We'll see. I'm taking my bronco through tomorrow, just to try it out. Man this is going to be fun!!
Crazed if you want to show up on Sunday, just follow Int 84 east, until hwy 97, then head north about ten miles. At the very top of the Maryhill Grade turn left, then left again and follow the road 1.5 miles on the right. The road is called String Street, but I'm not sure if there are any road signs, but we will have something up to show people were to go. It's about 1.5- 2 hr drive.
Mike, same for you. Follow hwy 97 south, go past G-dale about 6 miles. and follow the signs. The hwy will curve to the left but there's a road right in front of you take it, thats string street. If you need more pm me or email me I'll give you my cell #.
Also there will be mass quantities of adult beverages consumed at my humble abode after the mud bog.:beer
Big Mike C. 08-01-2003, 04:48 PM What times sat and Sun? I am trying for Sat...but maybe Sun.
Davids78Bronco 08-03-2003, 03:44 AM Bryson called me today, while I was on my way to Schuck's, and told me all about it. Now I'm wishing I could have had both trucks running :banghead
S'ok tho, at least there's the rockcrawl event in Sept to shoot for... and maybe some work while I'm there. Now I'll definitely have to TRY to get the dodge running
Crazed 08-03-2003, 03:47 AM I am going to run up in the morning to check it out.........
Sodbuster 08-04-2003, 02:27 AM It was a blast... Busted the sh!t out of my bronco but thats ok. I know a guy that has a dana 70 rear and a dana 60 front for $800... I think I'll do that. Crazed has some bada$$ pics, I have some video of it, even when I droped my pinion gear. :thumbup It was sweet. My brand new alternator also went south on me  Oh well, it was fun.
Crazed 08-04-2003, 02:42 AM I'll get the pics up in the morning....How much you want for your D44??
Big Mike C. 08-04-2003, 02:49 AM alas...I missed out, between a busted wheel cylinder and the fact that it was my anniversary today...I talked to sodsy said they had a blast, said Tim was cool and took some good pics, but I haven't seen any yet! hate that i misse it, maybe next time...:banghead

Davids78Bronco 08-04-2003, 04:49 PM MAN, I sure missed out on some good fun! :banghead
Big Mike C. 08-04-2003, 05:21 PM Thing is Sodsy wants to be a ricer so bad he made his Bronco front wheel drive!:goodfinge
I really hate that I missed out on meeting Sodsy and Crazed! I am jonesing for some mud...nothing up here but burned up sage brush!:banghead
Sodbuster 08-05-2003, 12:17 AM Hey Mike haven't you left yet?:goodfinge
Crazed I'll let you know when I can get those dana axles.
Those are really good pics, you can tell how hungover I was by how red my face is, drank a little too much the night before.
We are talking about having another one in October, so none of you will have any excuses on why you can't show up and enter in. I'll know more on wed. when we have another meeting.
Big Mike C. 08-05-2003, 12:40 AM aint scared punk...i'll be there! ( I really hope I can make it this time...:banghead :cry )
78bronco460 08-05-2003, 02:07 AM So who went and how was it? I drove through Goldendale twice today and there wasn't any mud, oil, coolant, parts, or broke rigs on the highway so I figured it wasn't TOO much fun!
Sodbuster 08-05-2003, 12:12 PM The yellow chebby and the green scout split the bog for bucks cash, but as far as the other classes i know a jeep won the 33 class, the chebby won the 36 class, and the scout won the 40 class, and nobody showed up with 44's.
As far as not fun, you just say that cause you missed it. The only rigs there that broke were all from goldendale, Mine, the black Ford (roommate), by the way that was his clutch smoking, and the red Chebby he lives on my couch.
NAMELESS 08-05-2003, 12:47 PM PICS
