View Full Version : cars 1234 ebay dont buy soaker2000 07-14-2003, 06:22 PM well i finally got my 92 home but its been a nightmare i will post the details when i regain my composure. stay away from this ebay seller. complete fraud john Grizzly 07-14-2003, 08:24 PM It' doesn't sound good what happened? BikerPepe` 07-14-2003, 08:38 PM Sorry to hear the deal went bad Soaker! Hope you can at least salvage a good rig out of what you got. We'll be waiting to hear, when your ready! soaker2000 07-15-2003, 11:39 AM ok here it goes. i took the family with me to philly for a short vacation to pick up my truck in nj. we went to atlantic city and had a great time. the trip from my home to the car dealer takes 7 hours one way. day two we pick up my 92 i check it over but not to close. no leaks tranny fluid nice and pink no burnt smell . so i paid and was on my wayback to norther ny. first thing i notice speedometer and odometer dont work and it shifts pretty hard. well i dont know much about the e4od so i figure ill check things out when i get home . we where into the second hour of our trip on 476 north between allentown and scranton climbing a 6 mile long mountian incline and it starts smoking like a stock car with a blown motor . ipull over and the road is covered with my tranny fluid. i call the dealer he says have it towed and call monday with the price and he would go good for it. i dont believe him but what could i do? so the tow truck shows up and takes my truck to thier shop i hop in my girlfriends jeep and head back up north.well monday comes and i stop payment on the check unti lthis mess gets cleared up. i call the dealer and he says he will go good for the repairs just release the stop payment on the check in the mean time the bank calls me back and say sthey can not put a stop payment on a offcial check . shit so the dealer gets the money and i have a truck thats at a shop 6 hours away. ok i start getting prices from this place and things just dont add up 2900 to fix it i dont think so best i could come up with was a advance auto rebuilt for 1600 and they would get 600 for the install i call the dealer with the price and he says he will only give me 750 toward repair and he would only do that after i leave positive feedback for him on ebay iam beiing held hostage. so i tell the dealer i want my money back not only because of the tranny but for the other problems he did not disclose or misreprsented. of course he says no way and i still dont have the 750 he promissed . the truck mileage is not correct power window on drivers side doesnt work back brakes rub ect ect ect.well i just cuoldnt trust this shop down in pa so i hire a truck to tow it up north all the places i called wanted 900 to tow the 700 miles to get it home . i got lucky and found a guy that would do it for 600 if i would go with him and since a have a commercial licnce could do some of the driving . so left at 5 on thursday and arrived home 7;30 friday exhaughtsed.i brought to a tranny shop up here if it would need complete rebuildthey charge 1100 bought i figured it out bad speed sensor screwed up the messages the tranny was getting causeing it to overheat and blow the fluid out in front by pump wont cost me much to have fixed. but i still have all the other problems to fix lots to do and no money back from dealer . i had the small claims paper work mailed to me so i have that option iam contacting ebay and filing a fraud claim to retract the positive after i get the 750 and it clears the bank .this dealer is a fraud and will screw anyone he can .i know ive left alot out but feel free to ask questions and it will come back to me. the whole ordeal has cause me alot of stress and anger i just like to deal with that shit for 10 days straight john soaker2000 07-15-2003, 12:03 PM short list of the problems milage misreprsented is unknown speedometer odometer not working tranny problem driver window doesnt work driver dorr panel not attached rear brakes rub not origanal paint some rust showing through cruise control doesnt work front end shakes bad tire? scratch in paint on hood the vehical discription and condition on ebay did not disclose these problems or they claimed items worked for example description says no rust and depenable tranny ect Damager 07-15-2003, 12:19 PM can I ask why you took it instead of refusing to complete the tranaction? :shrug BikerPepe` 07-15-2003, 02:19 PM Hmmm... got me thinking of the movie "Stir Crazy" when the midget in the bar grabs the guy by the nuts with a set of pliers. Soaker -> You want to give me my money back... DON"T YOU?!? Dealer (squeeky voice) -> YES SIR! Sorry to hear about the burn Soaker. When I buy from E-Bay... I will only buy from a personal seller. I figure any professional selling on e-bay can't be doing well locally and there must be a reason. :toothless jermil01 07-15-2003, 03:42 PM I guess the question on everyone's mind is what is this joker's name or name of the dealership so none of us do the same thing?? soaker2000 07-15-2003, 05:45 PM the name of the dealer is u.s.auto auctions in pennsauken nj its my own fault for trying to cram too much stuff into two days . a long drive. a trip to atlantic city two hyper kids that where fully rested by sleeping during the drive down. i just wasnt on top of things when i checked out the truck at the dealership. two hours after he had my money was to late to get a refund according to them. i called them again today to find out where my check for $750 is they said they will send it first thing in the morning .ya right. at least i like the truck and i can fix it . the motor runs great the interior is in good shape. ill make it work for me its just going to take more cash and time than i hoped. john BikerPepe` 07-15-2003, 08:53 PM Don't you have a LEMON LAW in your State? gators0204 07-15-2003, 10:37 PM Damn pennsauken is only like 20 min away from me, I would have been happy to check it out for you prior to you driving so far. Accessory Man 07-15-2003, 11:58 PM Originally posted by 4xPepe` Don't you have a LEMON LAW in your State? Not in NJ, or PA on a used car. I am with gators though, we could have met you there. ANYONE else wanting a Bronco, or Broncos, anywhere near Philly let me Know, My best friend sells used cars in Philly, in fact they usually call me to look them over before they by them so they know how much they might have to put in to them. In fact they just got an '87 they are selling for about $2500, no rust except for the one front fender, a little. Power everything and it all works. Only prob is the AC has a leak somewhere. They always have '92-'96s Last time I was down there they had 3. Good luck with restoring that Truck back to its former Greatness Max 07-16-2003, 01:38 AM speedometer odometer not working Sounds like a blown fuse is the culprit. pennsauken nj The moving company that just helped us move was based out of there....needless to say...some things weren't in there original condition as they were back in PA. I think from now on if anybody from FSB, FDB, MBB wants to get a vehicle off of E-bay...it would be the good neighborly thing to do is to go and check out the vehicle for the person if there is time to spare. I did it for Aaron Rich when he f'd up his truck in Caladonia State Park back in PA when I still lived there...wouldn't mind doing it for others. Was it Dirtdigger that got ripped by an Arizona dealer/auction when he bought that '88 something Bronco...can't really recall. Doesn't seem E-bay is the place to buy vehicles anymore. soaker2000 07-16-2003, 08:00 AM checking out the trucks for other members sounds like a good idea . makes me wish i would of asked for help on the site before i left. i dont know how the lemon law works here or nj but i do have the small claims application to take them to court if i wish. if i head down that way for court maybe i can meet gators0204 and accessoryman to say hello and get the tour of philly. john drexelsteve 07-16-2003, 10:49 PM how bout we all get together and go over there to whoop his ass? :thumbup allcruisen 07-16-2003, 11:51 PM I agree with "drexelsteve"......"how bout we all get together and go over there to whoop his ass?" soaker2000.....I am not sure up north or if its federal law for a dealer to have to sell you a vehicle with a working speedometer or atleast give you in writing how many estimated miles the truck has. Does not hurt to ask and do you have a copy of the listing on E-Bay where they state, the vehicle has no rust and the tranny is in good shape? Good Luck Allcruisen :imp :usa gators0204 07-17-2003, 12:00 AM Originally posted by drexelsteve how bout we all get together and go over there to whoop his ass? :thumbup Lets "KILL EM" as nobs would say. 94_chickentaco 07-20-2003, 01:38 PM 6 months after I bought my 94, the tranny died. The factory stereo died the day after I brought it home. Both tie rod ends were toast in the first week, and the list continues. I didnt get a lemon, But I got the leftover problems from the previous owner. Id rather have a broken bronco than no bronco at all. Good luck, :D Broncomx 07-21-2003, 02:38 PM Originally posted by 94_chickentaco 6 months after I bought my 94, the tranny died. The factory stereo died the day after I brought it home. But like you said I rather have broken bronco than no bronco at all. soaker2000 07-22-2003, 06:26 PM i have a copy of the ad on ebay so the guy cant say he didnt misrepresent the truck. i just got the truck back from the ford shop the speedo proplem abs and cruise control problem was caused by a bad harness all fixed now. iam still a little gun shy when it comes to going a long ways with this truck but the more i drive it the more comfortable ill get in its mechanical condition. next fix on my list is a broken door cable and bad window motor thanks for the input. just kicking the guys ass would shure feel good. i think iam going to make a stardard letter of what happened to me and email it to people who are bidding on his auctions so that every one who bids will be warned. if i do that for a month i bet he will change his tune and refund me some more money just to get me to stop. gobucs 07-23-2003, 07:41 PM Sorry to hear bout the problems, but just think if you bought a chevy. Those emails for a month will make a huge difference on price for him. Good luck. BARTnRED 10-19-2003, 10:18 PM Having a local look over eBay rigs would be a good idea. Maybe a sticky should be made about that. Better yet, maybe make up a catagory just for potential buy inspections. I'm sure we'd all keep an eye out for each other. And the best part is one of us has looked at it even before a bid or offer has been made. :thumbup gearrat 10-20-2003, 10:06 PM not to bring this up again but some noob just posted parts for sale and guess what town he is in in jersey :goodfinge |
