uummm...yeah, I don't see me making it to palatka by 7:00 am... sorry guys :shrug

damn..that's two dixie chapter "events" in a row that I can't come to... (if you count the get-together in marietta)

You aren't serious about taking your ranger to the point are you? Those bushes are going to scratch the hell out of your nice purdy paint :twak

Thanks, now I'll at least be at the right spot. It is really narrow. I've been on the quad trails in Ocala but none have scared me that bad. Not like it matters though.

Nathaniel
07-22-2003, 11:09 PM
Ain't nuthin a litte rubbing will get out:thumbup Damn Jon, wish ya could come, we just gotta get sumthin planned in your neck of the woods:beer So is 7-7:30 ok with everyone else?

We are gonna be meeting by the gas station in the walmart parking lot. If yall can't find me or have any questions before hand give me a call at (813) 205-5339 (that is my cell) After we meet up if you need to you can go into walmart and ge snacks for the trail, I am prolly gonna do that since it is easier than lugging a bunch of crap with me. More updates later.
Later,
Nathaniel

Are you guys still planning this ride?
0800 on the 2nd, still?
Would you be heading S on 19 after yall meet at Wal-Mart?
I'd be coming from S 19.
Just wondering if I could meet somewhere closer to where yall are planning to end up.

I'll go ahead and speak up for them....( i hope this is right)

Yes, south hwy. 19 from wally world.....

If they start at the point, you might as well meet them at wal mart..it's only about 5 miles from the trail head (er...where we entered the trail last time)

07-25-2003, 09:33 AM
Hey guys, looks like I am out of the game for next Sunday:cry , I am going to have too much s**t to do:mad: . Yes, Ogeechee is right, Wally World is on 19 just South of Palatky..can't miss it, if you're heading north on 19 its on the left if you're heading south its on the right. Also, instead of 17 monitor 14, that's the channel the Clay County 4x4 guys use. Nathaniel, PM or email me and I'll get you Colby's # so you can get hooked up with him or Roy.

I'm hopefully gonna be able to bring the bronco, I'm gonna fiddle with my t-case a little, to see if I can get it in to 4-low

Ogeechee 4x4
07-25-2003, 12:41 PM
that's going to be a long drive if you can "fiddle" it into 4lo but can't "fiddle" it out :banghead

but that's still a better idea than bringing the danger ranger :thumbup

jermil01
07-25-2003, 02:10 PM
I wouldn't be messing with stump trail with open diffs and no 4 lo, you might wind up in a bad way. I mean like stuck..

Nathaniel
07-25-2003, 03:51 PM
it has been settled for me, my dad said, "you're taking the ranger, I don't care if you scratch the shit out of it, just don't break anything major, plus the Bronco isn't insured and if you get pulled over you will get in big trouble." So it looks like I am gonna wheel the ranger.

jermil01
07-25-2003, 04:04 PM
You best break out the strap...'cuz there's gonna be some pulling going on..Hey, at least he's gonna let you wheel the ranger. But I would seriously stay away from stump trail this trip..just my .02 cents.

GearHead
07-25-2003, 08:47 PM
hey nat, i would with outta doubt park the ranger for stump trail.
remember how hard it was for my heep? and your wheelbase is a good bit longer too. might make it really tough.

i am probably gonna miss this one. my truck is still at the tranny shop. and i still gotta find some good tires for it.

gobucs
07-25-2003, 08:47 PM
Is anyone coming from the south like Tampa area? I am wondering approx time got get there. I am coming from us 19 and Tampa Rd. and think I have to leave between 5-5:30 to arrive by eight. Yeah, I know long ways away. Also no heep with me this time.

Ogeechee 4x4
07-25-2003, 09:08 PM
I just though of something else, Nathaniel but before I get to that I just wanted to say that i appologize if I come across as a know-it-all or if you think I'm trying to be "all up in 'yo kool-aid" I just don't want to see you tear up a very nice truck...

You really don't want to take those GY Wrangler RT/S tires on the stump trail. They will fill up with mud faster than Alan's and Jeremy's BFG A/T's did. They'll work fine for the sand...they'll even get you to the point... but they can't handle all that mud...

I'll shut up now...You've been working hard putting this trip together, all I've done is nit-pick over minute details... Have fun on the trip no matter which ride you take :thumbup

Blaze
07-26-2003, 02:45 AM
It's possible that I may can make this trip after all, but I gotta agree with the others...stump trail is a no-no in a stock ranger that you gotta depend on getting you back and forth to your new job!

Nathaniel
07-26-2003, 11:43 AM
ok, how bout the point, the ferry place, and Eureka and maybe some other ones?

Blaze
07-26-2003, 12:13 PM
I would suggest hooking up with the boys from Clay County 4x4, call one of 'em up, ask if they'll meet'cha at walmart around meeting time, buy you a map of Ocala and get them to mark it out on your new map....:beer

Nathaniel
07-26-2003, 01:32 PM
I got Colby's number so I am gonna give him a call tomorrow and I am talking to Joe over e-mail, so we will hopefully have a guide:thumbup

Ogeechee are those LTB's good tires to use on the street? Meaning the ones I got have super soft rubber and I think they will wear down quickly on pavement? How have yours been?

Ogeechee 4x4
07-29-2003, 10:19 PM
soft? that's an understatement...I can compress the lugs with my hand :shrug

I was there two weeks ago (eureka). There's actually some really good flex spots and some decent hills to climb. My friend took pics so i'll try to see if he can post them later.

We could always do a run in GA or something, Ocala was just the first place we picked to see if we could get some people together but most of us would be willing to drive if it means good wheeling. Throw some ideas out there.

Blaze
08-20-2003, 06:42 PM
We've been kicking around the idea of a north Ga. run, but nothing concrete yet...:shrug I been pretty busy the last few weeks and will be even more busy in the next month.:banghead
