Sixlitre 07-01-2005, 02:49 PM gas almost a buck a litre
The NDP and Bloc telling the Liberals what to do, lots to celebrate !
The gun law still isn't repealed. Emission testing in Ontario.
Now your ex-wife can hit on and marry the chick you were going for next and yet the courts are still stacked against the husband in divorce cases.
At least PartsSource is selling R-134 kits over the counter again !
Try to smile, maybe the fireworks will catch some politician's place on fire.

MatthewC 07-01-2005, 05:46 PM Try to see the silver lining Six,
-The Conservatives are no closer to running the country.
-The gays can finally shut the **** up
-Gas is expensive everywhere else
-The gun law isnt repealed (I think our opinions may differ on that one.)
-We both got to see some hot camel toe.

Too true Matt I guess my glass really is half full, not half empty
That young lady did kinda make my day (thanks Big Mike, good to see you're always thinking of us Canadians. I get the impression you'd like to get "right neighbourly" with that young Canadian ?
I ain't a pro-gun guy wanting to see an AR-15 on every Toronto street corner, but I've seen how ridiculous the law is in rural and remote areas of Canada, where it's just plain dangerous to be unarmed in the wilderness. There's gotta be a compromise made and soon.
As for the unelected parties (the NDP and Bloc) ruling the country, well I'm scared. I remember in 73 when the Liberals caved into the NDP demands and we went from debt-free to a debt your grandkids won't see the last of.

MatthewC 07-01-2005, 11:34 PM Too true, Six. The NDP have always been chomping at the bit, but they cant seem to handle the big chair. Ontario and BC run provinces being prime examples. They cant handle money. I say as long as the Liberals, NDP, and Bloc are working together, no matter what happens behind closed doors, the better, because things can finally get done instead of weeks and weeks of parlimentary sessions that end in stalemates. I dont like the Liberal party we have now, but I would seriously consider moving out of the country if Harper gained power. Damn I wish Frank MacKenna would run for election....local boy!
In regards to the guns, I agree with you on that as well. Canada is a predominantly rural country, and none more so than here in NB. In many places having a rifle is a fact of every day life, but to play devils advocate we had a year to register our guns for free. Between my father and I we registered 16 guns, and nothing about owning guns has changed since the law. I have never understood what the big deal was.
Anyways, how were the fireworks in Ottawa? I REALLY miss those. The fireworks in Fredericton were really lacking....

Never got to the Hill
Grew tired of the crowds, walking and having to park so far away years ago. Last time I was there Cynthia Dale was on stage in the shortest miniskirt I've ever seen. That lucky ba$turd Peter Mansbridge !
All was fine if you already had your FAC or firearms. It's another story if yours had lapsed like mine. Man I will never let it lapse again ! Technically I don't even "possess" a gun, but I'm a bit of a civil libertarian when it comes to rights they want to tamper with or take away.
NDP belong in opposition IMO, never in power, not after what they did to Ontario (I'm still suffering).
You have to understand what kind of financial f#@&ing the liberals are going to let the NDP do to the budget, for their votes. If you knew that you'd be a lot more worried my fellow Canadian.
