I called around and Carquest carries Seafoam here in Ottawa(and nationally)

Picked some up this afternoon for $12 Canadian. They also have that creeping spray too. I opted for the regular Seafoam, which seems to go well with anything except cornflakes.

Running two bottles of Wynns fuel injector cleaner through the tank right now, so when that's through in 10 days to two weeks I'll fill up again and make her choke down this can of Seafoam.

Fair warning for the mosquitoes around here.

I emailed Seafoam company last October and asked when we were going to get it. They responded that CarQuest was going to start carrying it in December in my neck of the woods. Unfortunately I havent seen it on the shelf yet.

No good with cornflakes, but it actually improves the flavor of Total!

Jeez SirMorf

they might crucify us for mailing something that flamable. I guess I could mail it from Hull, using Mick. E. Mouse as the returning idiot, But what if they beat my name out of you after we burned down the postal station ?

Are you close enough to skip over the border to Seattle for some ?

Maybe I'll go hassle the guy down at Lordco and see if they'll bring some in...

Do you mean check where I buy my piston rings or is there a parts chain with that name ?

Still haven't poisoned my little 5.0 with it yet. Holding out for a break in the humidity and heat. The neighbours might freak out without a wind to carry it away.

Don't seem fair to spring on them during a smog alert week. We hit 44 with the humidex today. I was installing interior parts inside the garage with only shorts on and I was dripping with sweat.

Yeah it's a automotive parts store out here, not sure if you have ones farther east though! http://www.pistonringservice.com/ :Pickle:

Tried this seafoam about a week or so ago, had it in for about half hour and fired up the bko hardly any smoke. Threw in another can yesterday this time let it sit for 5-6 hours HOLLY SH*T no more skeeters in our neighborhood LMAO! make sure when you do fire up the truck that you do it at night. You don't want the fire department showing up! :thumbup

No I've never heard of them back East here

Slapped the Seafoam in yesterday

just before I pulled off the throttle body to clean it. Had to drill out and remove the screws on the TPS on the side of the throttle body so I had to run into town to get some more M4 X 0.7 screws.

That and cleaning the EGR and IAC and it's port took about 4-5 hours (with all the running around) so the Seafoam sat for all that time.

Pretty impressive smoke show on start up ! Kind of a clean white smoke. Luckily there was a bit of a breeze so it didn't cloud the neighbourhood too bad. I did it round behind the house so that helped too.

Even though I put it in through the intake, I wonder how much made it past the rings and into the crankcase and engine oil ? I'm gonna run her into town today and then I'll drain the oil when I get back.

Don't really have a crud build up in the oil anyway as I change mine every 30 days or 2000 miles, whichever comes first. This is proven by my oil pressure, which is 55 on startup, 40+ at cruise and never below 20 even at hot idle.

Have you (or anyone) ever put Seafoam in the gas tank ? Wondering if it's any better than Wynns or whoever ?

Didn't put any into the gas tank as of yet. Will be doing that shortly when we move out to Alberta ( middle of Aug ) Think I will put in a can at that time,
gonna go through a couple tanks of gas anyway. :Pickle:

Yeah that'll be a tank or ten alright !!!

Seems to be running much smoother, with what feels like more power. Idle is still a little erratic but not all the time.

Seems a tad high at idle. I'll give it a day or three then I'm gonna adjust the throttle plate stop screw down a bit more.
