SpareParts 11-22-2003, 01:28 PM I'm about 3 1/2 hrs. from Kansas City in Missouri. Not real close but closer than most. Topeka is alittle to far to travel to play for now. My tow rig is a 1/2 ton 97' Ford, I sucks on gas mileage when I'm towing. I might venture that far for a weekend event, not just a one dayer.
nu_bronco 12-02-2003, 12:27 PM Just joined yesterday. Live in the KC area. You are a member of the Kansas Krawlers, right? I have been checking out that site also, helpful people there.

check out www.trailkrawlers4x4.org
its a kansas based 4x4 site *mainyl jeeps* but they have a nice place up at tuttle creek, about 25 miles north of manhatten
they have an annual get together thast going on this year sept 18-19th, and you can wheel before/after too if you want
they have places for stock..mild..big..and extreme rigs, you can do whatever u feel like, and its all organized..plenty of people to help out if you get stuck..etc
im going to be there, *its called hte Kansas Krawl*
i dunno if axe is gonna be there or not, hopefully he can make it too, theres another guy in the club that has FSB axles..engine..tranny, etc, on a jeep platform becasue he rolled his FSB, also another guy with an 78 i believe that really cut his up and made it a cool trailrig
goodluck w/ ur rig..and if ur ever gonna wheel just send me a pm/email or w/e
HappyJack 07-18-2004, 12:02 AM Another Wichita. I have some Tuttle stuff on my web site if anyone wants to check it out. I meet a couple of Heep guys from the Krawlers at Tuttle. Didn't seem to hit it off real well with them. But I know others who do. I've been to Tuttle so many times it's kind of boring for me. I'm really into Colorado and Utah wheeling now. I have told my self I'm saving all my money for trips out west and not spending any money on local runs. But I change my mind all the time. If we have some who would like to do a FSB event at Tuttle I might change my mind. I have some conections for prizes and awards. So if some of you guys want to have our own club event we could do that. I helped put on another clubs anniversery run up there last year.
There is another area for the guys out west at Dighton/Shields KS. It is a pay to play area. The SWFWD Assn. has had quarterly events there though. I have never been there, but one of my sons has. Like I said I'm not much of a park wheeler. When I'm at a few hundered acre park I just keep thinking I could be in Colorado or Utah. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with park wheeling. My intrests are just different. I would be recruiting others for trips to Colorado and Utah if you guys want me to help get a FSB club event going at Tuttle.
I can't see myself attending a Krawler event though. Let me know what you all think.
JoeBob1901 07-18-2004, 02:06 AM i havent made it up to tuttle yet, some of the guys online seem nice..other seem really "know it all" jeepish ;) lol, honestly..it comes w/the turf i guess
i plan on going up ther.e.might hit up dighton, any idea on park hours, wayto get ahold of them, etc? its only about 1- 1 1/2 hours away form me, so definitly dooable
thanks
axaviere 07-18-2004, 02:13 AM :thumbup
HappyJack 07-18-2004, 03:50 AM i havent made it up to tuttle yet, some of the guys online seem nice..other seem really "know it all" jeepish ;) lol, honestly..it comes w/the turf i guess
i plan on going up ther.e.might hit up dighton, any idea on park hours, wayto get ahold of them, etc? its only about 1- 1 1/2 hours away form me, so definitly dooable

I'll check on a link for Dighton\Shields. My son may have some info. I'll check tomorrow. I think it is call the Cathouse Receration Area. You might try a search on it.
Found a link. It is http://heartlandoffroad.org/cathouse.htm
I have plenty of info on Tuttle. Maps, Links, Motel Info, Camping Info, Park Info, might even still have some GPS. Pictures and vid's on my Web site.
Like I said I kind of made a promise to myself that I wouldn't spend time/money park wheeling this year. So I won't attend an event by the two other clubs I belong to or any that I don't belong to. The only thing that would change my mind would be if we decided to have a FSB event up there and I was needed to help with the event.

82-XLT 08-03-2004, 04:25 PM I just got my bronco yesterday, I love it. I am in Topeka..........kind of new to all of this because not only is it my first bronco, its my first car, haha.
Welcome, and good choice on you first truck.
JoeBob1901 08-04-2004, 02:31 AM didnt catch this post..welcome to the site, and topeka eh?
what are your plans for the bronco..daily driver? how old are you out of curiosity...it being your first car..15?
82-XLT 08-04-2004, 03:55 AM Im 16, going to be a junior in a couple of weeks at Topeka West High School. My uncle brought this up from arizona, no rust at all :). The engine has been replaced, the current one has close to 50k on it, the body about 180k. It has a new driveline and rear end. I do how ever need to service the transmission because on the way from being towed from arizona it popped into gear :duh so just to be safe. I have thought about alot of possibliltys for the truck, im really excited about it. The engine sounds really healthy and im looking for a good exhaust system to put on there, im still in the process of looking and comparing. I also want to do of coarse different wheels with bigger tires, and maybe paint it down the road. I am mostly intrested in the offroad aspect of the bronco. So suspension and related things will also be considered. The carb also needs to be rebuilt but my dad and I are going to put a new holley 4 barrel on there. I work at Automotion so I get discounts on parts and maintainance, things like that. Like I said above there are alot of possibilitys to be thought of, if anyone has advice or knowledge on where I should start comments are appreciated. Thanks :thumbup
**Edit** I have about 500$ in my pocket as of now to spend on aftermarket things.
JoeBob1901 08-04-2004, 12:19 PM thats cool, i know a few people that go to west..along w/ washburn rural, girls would be SRs at west, Stephanie Kendall is one? Im going to be a Sr. at Hays
you sound like u got a plan so thats good..have you ever heard of the Trail Krawlers club? It's a club based out of manhatten primarily..and they offroad at the Randolph park straight north of manhatten about 20 miles
go to Trail Krawlers (http://www.trailkrawlers4x4.org/)
register there as well, lots of members, about 95% from KS, and theres about 5 fullsize broncos on there
they have an annual trail ride, the Kansas Krawl, its coming up september 18-19 i believe, they have courses for easy, mild, hard, expert, and then a medium course which is labeled fullsize, because it has less bends and stuff, easier for a truck to do
if you didnt have yours ready, or want to take it, you could see if anyone would be interested in letting you hitch a ride, most people will let people jump in and go with em
axavier here is from topeka as well, with a big lifted 78-79 truck..and may be going to the sept meet i believe? ud have to ask him
its good to see another kansas HS kid here, got any pics of your new bronco?
Welcome :thumbup
82-XLT 08-04-2004, 03:04 PM I was thinking of taking some pics today, hopfully I can find my digital camera, lol. Im going to check out that club as soon as I finish this post, thanks.
axaviere 08-15-2004, 11:20 PM there is also http://www.kansaskrawlers.com/ in topeka. welcome.
Vipereater 08-23-2004, 05:38 PM Hello from Wichita, 1 1/2 weeks ago I'm driving my 88 Blazer II down I-35 (65 mph) and the motor went KABOOM. Parts everywhere. The crank broke. I owned it for 1 1/2 months. :brownbag
I was a chevy man (owned 9 Corvettes) and now I'm a die hard Ford guy. I'm new to Bronco's. 2 days old and I'm loving it. I want to build it so I can run over sh!t. Lots of torque. It's great to have a crappy body that I don't have to worry about damaging.
Does anyone know where I can find a drop in 351w to replace my I6? I'll overhaul it later. Also looking for a 6" lift and monster wheels and tires.
I grew up on the farm and drove 4x4's and going out of my way to find a mud hole. I guess now I'm reliving my youth. :thumbup
Did someone mention beer. Name the place and I'm there. Lets get some kind of mudfest going.
Oh ya, The Lightning hazes the tires at 65 mph.
You'll be hearing more from me.
Kevin
PS> I plan to attend Tuttle in Sept.
BTW: Lightningfest is one after Tuttle at Heartland Park. :thumbup
82-XLT 08-23-2004, 09:07 PM Welcome to the boards, I live in topeka not couple miles from Heartland Park Topeka. Lightnings are awesome trucks (so are broncos :P) my friend has a Red 2000. I might see you out at Lightning Fest 04 or maybe at KK 2 if you make it out there.
400bronco 09-12-2004, 02:20 AM Another Wichita man here. Just bought my second Bronco (79).
Any one have a front driveshaft they need to get rid of or know where I can get one for cheep? Thanks ....Jason
axaviere 09-12-2004, 03:22 AM for a bronco with a C6 or manual?
400bronco 09-12-2004, 02:50 PM Manual transmission.

BigBody 09-26-2004, 12:18 PM Hey, I'm a newbie from Kansas. I'd like to get my bronco a lil dirty and test her limits...Any close clubs? I am from southeast , KS.
Kyle

BigBody 09-26-2004, 06:09 PM Thanks for sites!
HappyJack 09-27-2004, 01:30 AM Wichita has a couple of clubs. Wichita 4X4 Club meets at Fat Boyz on SE Blvd. There was a club called Ground Pounders also. You might contact Truck Stuff on N. Mosley to see if they are still around. If you like mud there is a central mud boggers assn. But I think that season is over for this year.
I'll try to find some links and post them up for you.
Welcome. :beer

axaviere 10-10-2004, 05:19 PM HEY!! my AOL AIM name is the same as my name here, axaviere. why dont you guys and gals (i wish) hit me up and i can get you all on a buddy list and that way if we can ever get a group together for a meet & greet or to go wheeling, we can talk easier. its just a thought. i will try to PM everybody and get us organized. i think we could all use a hand working on rigs and stuff. maybe we can organize weekends that can bring us together to get stuff done and socialize. email is axaviere@aol.com i am always happy to help out and have tools and stuff. just a thought
jagular7 10-24-2004, 01:01 AM Has anyone heard of the Kansas Rocks Park located near Ft. Scott? KSRocksPark (http://ksrockspark.com) Kansas City 4-Wheel Drive Association?KC4WDA (http://www.kc4wda.com)
I have a 92 Bronco which is now sitting in the garage. Owned it since 98. Lifted and geared in fall 2000. Not much wheeling over the last 4 years. I've got a D60 to install up front using Duff arms. I'm also going to a dual t-case setup with the Klune-V and a 205 (dual stick). Already have the Sterling in the rear, but there are lots of little gotta-dos: saginaw steering, 1-ton master cyl, redo tailgate, drop down tire carrier, integral belly pan, geared/locked, amongst them as most critical.
Got a few items on Ebay to help with the expenses.
Terry81XLT 11-13-2004, 11:53 PM Wow, seems to be quite a few from Wichita. I have been here for almost 7 years since retiring from the Navy. Bought an 81 XLT about 4 years ago, put a new engine in it, just lifted the body 3" and put on 33's. I use it mostly for hunting, but will be pulling the new boat with it next summer.
Let me know if someone comes through with the old town get together.
axaviere 11-21-2004, 07:09 PM HEY!! my AOL AIM name is the same as my name here, axaviere. why dont you guys and gals (i wish) hit me up and i can get you all on a buddy list and that way if we can ever get a group together for a meet & greet or to go wheeling, we can talk easier. its just a thought. i will try to PM everybody and get us organized. i think we could all use a hand working on rigs and stuff. maybe we can organize weekends that can bring us together to get stuff done and socialize. email is axaviere@aol.com i am always happy to help out and have tools and stuff. just a thought

MuleMarine 06-06-2005, 01:55 AM Yo, home-sweet-home....Wichita here also. Can't wait to get a Wichita round-up and go do some wheelin. Just got back into the Bronc after about a 1yr hiatus. This stupid college thing, oh yeah----and the 2 speed AOD has got me limited (dumb tranny doesn't like spinning w/ no fluid, somehow burnt out 3rd and 4th). Got major plans in the making. Right now working on affording a new tranny and a 351w-to-stroker. Keep on wheeling.

There are mining strip pits all over southeast kansas...a few of them are open to the public...I just don't know which ones. Be careful with the strip pits though....what looks like solid ground could sink you right up to the floorboards!!!
Colleen

it's a cool place to wheel, ihavent made it out there yet, but i have been to Tuttle. Tuttle is more trails, and some powering up hill stuff, fun, but, yea. Cathouse is more "Extreme" sorta stuff, lockers are more needed, and articulation is a MUST, and...you get to see narrow jeeps flo alot :rockon

30 miles north of Manhatten, check out the TrailKrawlers link, that's where the majority are located
It's actually "randolph offroad park" if you can find Randolph on a map, mapquest, whatever, you can find the park..it's just down the road, and has signs.
natesbronco 06-19-2005, 10:23 PM Right on. Joe you go there a lot? I am living out in CA right now but im going to be back to Kansas for good on the 18th 19th July. Im going to want to go up there and try it out. since i never had time to go on any trips with my bronco since i built it up
JoeBob1901 06-20-2005, 01:36 AM Right on. Joe you go there a lot? I am living out in CA right now but im going to be back to Kansas for good on the 18th 19th July. Im going to want to go up there and try it out. since i never had time to go on any trips with my bronco since i built it up
I've been there once, last fall, i just havent had time/moeny to go lately, i'd rather put time/money into getting new equipment, thatn spending it on gas, and fixing stock parts...just my view on things i guess
There is a BIG meet and greet, called the "kansas krawl", more info is on their homepage...its like 10 dollars to enter, its a drug/alcohol free event, for faimly, and its a 2 day event, fun stuff! I dont think i'll be able to make it, it'll depend on when i go to Basic training, I find out when i go the sunday after this one, if i leave for basic prior to the kansas krawl, i wont be able to be going anywhere till next spring/summer after tech school, etc, etc.
Got any more info/pics of your build? :rockon
natesbronco 06-22-2005, 12:38 AM what branch are you going into? i am getting out after 6 years in the air force. im going to get the guard in Topeka full time. the air force is cutting back alot and my job is one of them. i have some pic's of the bronco i need to read up to see how to post of if i can even post on here. not to for sure...
JoeBob1901 06-22-2005, 12:52 AM what branch are you going into? i am getting out after 6 years in the air force. im going to get the guard in Topeka full time. the air force is cutting back alot and my job is one of them. i have some pic's of the bronco i need to read up to see how to post of if i can even post on here. not to for sure...
I was going into Airforce reserves, then the recruiter was a wanker, wouldnt trafvel to meet, if tehre was a question i had, he'd take 3 days to respond, etc, etc..it just wasnt worth my time trying to weed through his crap
so, i knew a gaurd guy locally whose a SGT, so i talked to him, got in contact with the recruiter, and it's night and day difference, he's a cool guy, and travels to me, meets with me, calls back asap, etc..
I'm going in as a helicopter pilot, with the hopes in 6 years, if i feel like reinlisting, to go to officer training, then to try to get accepted for pilot school. What are you in for? I go to MEPs in KC this sunday to figure out when i go to basic n stuff.
go to superford.org and register for an account, then create a vehicle...then add pictures, pretty self explanatory when you get in there
MuleMarine 06-22-2005, 10:36 PM Helicopter Pilot...........right on :thumbup , I joined the Marine Corps hoping to become a Helicopter Pilot...needless to say I fell in love with infantry and never followed through...(actually I proly never would've made the cut...lol). My recruiter promised me I'd have enough time to get a degree while serving my time....needless to say if I had 2 minutes of free time some higher echelon would come along and erase it. OH well, at least I'm getting money for school now. I had another buddy who joined the Army, got his O-commission, even got accepted into flight school. Ended up found out his girl was pregnant same week he got accepted and never followed through. Now he's some supply officer in the reserves here in town. I should kick his ass for not doing it.........matter of fact---now that I'm thinking about it......................... :boxing
You'll like the Army, just stay motivated and make the best out of your experience. You'll meet lots of Gomer's, and lot's of guy's who would sell both thier nuts for you, as you would them. Don't get disgruntled at the "non-rates", it's everyone's job to make them better. Help them out and you'll become a better person along the way. Did I mention stay motivated? Congrat's on joining the Army (even though it's not the Marines....lol) and THANK YOU ahead of time.
JoeBob1901 06-23-2005, 01:33 AM the main reason i chose gaurd was becuase i knew people, and they had a field i'd be interested in, in the Aircraft i was looking for airplane maitence/pilot like the army, but...the aircraft recruiter was horrible to say hte least, and he's in wichita, and wouldnt drive a bit to save me from my 3hr long drive one way....I also would have had to go to wichita 1 weekend a month, now i just will go to salina, 1/2 the gas, and, as SRaTEX has figured out, it's easier to become a helicopter pilot than airplane...so...
Blue'87GT 06-24-2005, 04:53 PM I'm a Junction City KS guy. I'll be visiting home from 6-20 July. It'll be good to be out of the northeast for a couple of weeks! Anyone from around the JC/Manhattan area?
MuleMarine 07-27-2005, 11:47 AM Been a while since I heard from any KS members, anyone still there? I'm getting tired of all these M&G's I read about everywhere else (jealousy sucks...lol). When we gonna have one. I bet we could muster up enough Wichitan's and surrounding to have a kick ass M&G here in Wichita, or close. Whadya say?
MuleMarine 08-05-2005, 06:35 AM HELLO????
natesbronco 08-18-2005, 12:05 PM Hey Mule. im from Burlington. nice to met you. hey what is going on over the big weekend? any one going to tuttle? i have never been there i am hoping to get up there. a M&G would be cool. i would have to trailer my bronc if i where to bring it that is kind of a drive for me..
MuleMarine 08-24-2005, 03:25 AM yeah, that would be a long drive. About the M&G, I was trying to make it a no big deal sort of get together drink some beer and hang out a bit. Nothing to crazy or serious......but we can always leave that open. I don't know about anything up at Tuttle and I won't be able to get up there for at least another couple months anyhow, but maybe next summer it might be pretty cool to plan some sort of get together up there. If anyone's interested maybe we could start some posts and do a little planning. Maybe start making it a yearly sort of deal. Before long it would be bigger than the Rubicon........but I won't hold my breath on that one.
axaviere 08-24-2005, 10:34 AM i am in topeka. i personally wouldnt be able to drive the 79 to wichita just due to gas consumption. i would drive that sucker to randolph though...maybe?
stay in touch everybody
HappyJack 08-25-2005, 12:00 AM I started another thread about the FTE's lake day up at Tuttle the third weekend in September. The Trail Krawlers are having a big event at Tuttle that weekend also. I have heard they charge $35 to attend. Doesn't cost anything to attend FTE's lake day deal.
If anyone would like to make it up they are welcome. I don't have a link for Trail Krawlers but I posted a link for the FTE Lake day on the post for this.
natesbronco 08-26-2005, 02:18 PM Well i might just see what i can do about the trhird weekend sounds like a good time. i am getting a new job hopefully i wont have to work on that weekend. keep my informed on what is going on if you dont mind i dont get on here to often right now.
Thanks Nate
jar73186 08-31-2005, 02:45 PM Just got my bronco the other week. I am from kansas City but am currently in Manhattan for school. Oh yeah and I have the bronco up here at K-state. So if there are any events that are on the weekends put them up I wanna try out the bronco. Or if anyone knows of any trails that would be good for a stock bronco to get it's trial run out in the manhattan area that would be good too.
Adam
axaviere 08-31-2005, 11:32 PM if you in manhappiness, go up to randolph. you should be able to play a little there

We have a run on the 17th and 18th of September. It's listed in this section under another thread as FTE Lake Day. Your welcome to join us.
What tires are you running? Some off highway trails (like some up at Tuttle OHV Area) can be hard on tires. You really need a good truck tire. P rated (passanger car) tires are 4 ply and designed for a soft ride on streets and don't fair well up there. Tow points front and rear is something else you should have. I have straps and a winch, but you need to have a place to hook them to. Other than that you should be fine.
A cb radio is nice to have so we can talk to each other. I have a couple of hand helds. GMRS radio's are another option. I have a couple of those but they don't have the range of the CB.
Check out the link for the FTE Lake day on my other post. That's where all the planning will take place for this run. You can find pictures of Tuttle on my web site. And maps also. Just received permission to post another map on my site so I'll load it with the other ones on my site tonight.
Hope to see you there. Looks like we are going to have a cook out and camp also. Your welcome to join us for that also.

I have BFG 31" tires I am not sure on the rating but they are fairly beefy tires. What CB Channel do you all use. I have a cb I just need to find a better place to mount it. right now it just sets on my passenger seat when I use it. I have a stock bronco with the 351 I only got it 3 weeks ago so it is fairly new to me and I haven't had time to get a winch or alot of the stuff that I would like to put on it. On the tuttle creek event would I be able to wheel even without these things or am I at a high risk to get stuck? If you think that the bronco will make I will come on down and if you don't think that it will i might still come down to check it out, get some ideas for my Bronco.
Adam
axaviere 09-02-2005, 06:55 PM where is that link to the FTE deal??

If the BFG's are MT's, AT's, or Krawlers you are in good shape. Your truck will do fine most places. But anyone can make a mistake. If it's wet there will be a bunch of mud. Just make sure you have tow points front and rear where you can get to them easly. I have clevices and straps but sharp edges like those on some bumpers will slice a strap like it was butter. If you can't get tow points on in time let me know and I'll try to remember to bring a chain.
We'll try channel 13 on the CB and see how that works.
HappyJack 09-03-2005, 09:44 PM where is that link to the FTE deal??
It's on this forum, the first post of the FTE Lake Day/weekend thread started by me.
jar73186 09-05-2005, 08:57 PM HappyJack I am going to try and get down to the tuttle creek event. I won't have anything but the stock bronco so if you can bring a chain that would be great. Assuming that I am not to busy with school I will try to get up there.
adam
HappyJack 09-06-2005, 02:16 AM Cool! I look forward to meeting everyone. In case it rains and you need to get under your Bronco to hook up the chain, bring some old clothes and an extra set of dry ones. We will go through and near some mud holes.
jar73186 09-06-2005, 12:03 PM HappyJack is that FTE event free or does it cost $40. On the trail Krawlers website they said it costed $40 yes/no. I am confused, and a poor college student. Either way I am going to try to go to tuttle to get a little dirty.
Adam
HappyJack 09-06-2005, 07:21 PM If you want to hang with the Kansas Krawl bunch it will cost you $40. If you want to hang with us Ford guys then it dosen't cost any fee. It dose cost to camp at Fancy Creek. It will cost you gas. You do need to bring food or money to buy food. But no one I know of at FTE, FSB, KCXC, BII, BII4X4, or RRORC are charging anything.
I plan on bringing up some chili and pizza for one evening. And will cook bacon, eggs, biscuts, and stuff one morning. Your welcome to join us. If you'd like to bring something you are welcome.
jar73186 09-07-2005, 11:57 AM Sweet I am close enough at KSU, that I don't need to camp. So food and gas I can do that. Assuming that I don't have any conflicts with school I will plan to attend.
Adam
jar73186 09-10-2005, 09:28 PM I went a little early to Tuttle to check it out. I had some fun and tested teh Bronco out. Here are a few pictures

demon 01-05-2007, 12:59 AM Its not a sure thing yet but we were thinking of hitting bonner up next weekend. theres a group of guys from one of the other forums that was wanting to go out and check the place out.
jar73186 01-05-2007, 04:31 PM I work with Jake he keeps telling me I should go out there to Bonner with him, then he tells me I might want some thing a little bit narrower. I might go out depends on how much I can get started in the next week.
Adam
demon 01-07-2007, 02:32 PM we've cleared out a few more trees to accomodate the full sizes better. There is some tight corners through a few spots but if you're careful you'll be ok. If you are wanting to run through the whole area though you will most likely pick up some new beauty marks
even thou there calling for hell to freeze over this week. are you guys going to be in bonner? i need to test my new hubs out:chili:
jar73186 01-10-2007, 12:20 PM The only day I would be able to do it would be sunday. Hopefully I will be ordering some tube for my new bumpers front and rear and possibly a roll cage but I am not sure yet. Still have a lot to do.

demon 01-11-2007, 12:02 AM i doubt we'll be heading out this weekend. I'll keep you guys posted when we head back down there.

I am having fuel issues with the Edelbrock. It seems like it is running out of gas when you step on it. I am going to try a smaller set of rods (probably two steps) but I dont think that will fix it. You can rev it up with no load and it will....KINDA....rev up. But close the choke and look out. That bad boy will flat out rev to the friggin moon. Which leads me to believe I have TOO MUCH fuel and I was correct in puttin in the taller springs. (if you dont know these carbs, you will be lost...but then if you do than of course...I seem lost). It has a few other things off of it too...like the blower motor, that need to be fixed before I go very far with it. It is soooo close but soo far away. Every weekend I have had off, it has either rained or one of my kids has been sick. Of course I am off now and the snow is making this wiked easy on me:cry I will try a few more things and then will probably slap on one of my Hollys until I can stick EFI on it. I dont want to run a blow through setup so EFI it must be.
Chris
take your carb off the intake, drain the gas from carb.
flip it over. over bye the choke theres a screw. that will adjust the choke, that just help you out alot.
go to there web site ther should be a troble shoot page for you.
what part of town do you live in again?
seawalkersee 01-15-2007, 12:06 AM Im in Kearney. The choke is not the problem. There is a mixtrue problem or a pump problem. I may take it off and try to hone the accel pump setup. I just have to have some warmer weather to start with. I think the intake may be leaking internally as well. I have a little water in the oil. It may be from the rain onto the valve covers. I am more concerned about the fuel than I am the water though.

x6xdemonx6x 03-14-2007, 09:04 PM Haven't read all the post but when i was in kansas i always found some decent areas at tuttle creek and if you pay attention on 24-40 around perry you can find the old highway that can get you to some interesting places to play. Other then that rural routes in places like concordia ks where its dirt not gravel is pretty fun to kill some time after a good rain though people get a little cranky after it dries up and their teeth get rattled out of their skulls.
natesbronco 03-15-2007, 07:51 AM Demon how was the wheelin over the weekend?
demon 03-15-2007, 08:44 AM it was pretty good. I've got some new video, just waiting on a buddy of mine to finish editing and I'll get some clips up on my site.
anyone down for tuttle creek the weekend of the 30th?
natesbronco 03-15-2007, 07:48 PM Will be in CA and OR for that week.
x6xdemonx6x 03-16-2007, 10:49 PM might also check the tunnels in tonganoxie just watch for the old farmer thats like to chase people through there
jar73186 03-19-2007, 02:32 PM Demon I might be up for some wheeling at the end of teh month. I've been helping work on the rubberbelly comp tracker. Competition starts in a month so depending on what is left to do will dictate if I can go out to Manhattan.

Some friends and I are going to go to Disney around Memorial Weekend.
demon 04-16-2007, 11:42 PM our last trip we actually ended up going to Kansas Rocks because the weather was looking questionable for tuttle. It was a blast, had about 8 rigs in the group with 2 more joining up when we got out there. We have a very fun group to say the least!
We are planning a trip to go to Tuttle memorial weekend if anyone is interested in wheeling with us. I think the weekend of the 28th we are gonna hit the trails in Bonner if anyone is interested in testing their rigs locally.
28th:thumbup
just need to fine me a set of wheels to mount my 32's on:banghead

Hi everyone, I'm actually in Florida, but I will be up in Topeka, Lawrence from the 31st to the 12th,
I'm coming up to meet my real parents for the first time ever, after being adopted out 17 years ago, and would really like to go out wheeling with my father.
and Im hoping to find someone that has room in their truck for me and my father, and my fiance.
Thanks alot, and I hope to hear back from someome.
Wanna Bronco 06-29-2007, 05:33 PM how is the off roading out there? i went to the Kansas krawlers page, but it looks not to have been updated in quite some time. just curious, my mom lives in KC, and suggests that i move out there. and what is the job market like?

what kind of work are you looking for? go to www.trailkrawlers4x4.org or www.kc4wda.net
We go out about twice a month. Within a 4 hour range there are plenty of parks and private land to wheel on. There's a few even within 2 hours of kc.
Wanna Bronco 07-01-2007, 01:26 AM just got out of the navy, i am going to welding school (Arc certified, annd soon to be Mig) so i am not sure. i guess something in the welding area. and those are good links. being in the so cal area, we have numerous areas to off road in, out in the desert. so i was worried if i moved, there wouldn't be anywhere to go. thanks
demon 07-01-2007, 01:39 AM go to www.kcstar.com Lots of job listings there. You should be able to find a welding job pretty easy. I think around kc the area for highest demand with good pay would be structural welders. Theres alot of large projects going on and more always happening.
Yeah theres plenty of places to go...tuttle creek in randolph, ks http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/tuttlecreek/offroad.htm (trailkrawlers) http://www.flatnasty.net/ http://www.smorr.net/ http://www.ksrockspark.com/ http://www.miobi.org/main.htm http://www.extreme4wheelin.com/langley_disney.htm http://www.orvpark.com/
thats what I would consider within a reasonable driving distance. Then theres all of the ones that dont have websites or is property owned by private individuals. Theres quite the abundance of clubs also.
Wanna Bronco 07-01-2007, 03:04 PM awesome dude. thanks for the links. i tried to ask my mom this stuff, but all she could tell me, was that there are plenty of jobs.
those look like some good wheeling spots! I forget, how far are the Ozarks from there?
