OK, I've had it $.99 cents/l !!!!! :whiteflag

I'm looking for a propane (dual fuel) system for my 1992 F-150 302. Anybody? I'm located in south-central Alberta.

Thanks for your help.

Just FYI...... it isn't worth it. My buddy has the exact same set up as me and he has to fill up twice as I do. Just yesterday we both filled up, and after a day of fun, I had 3/4 of a tank left and he barely had a 1/4. He is swapping back to Petrol.

bronco boy that is a pretty bad comparison. what is the size differance in the tanks?

How is that a pretty bad comparison? Two almost identical rigs, two identical fuel cell sizes.

I am 120 litres, and buddy's propane is 2 60 litres tanks.

I've also heard that the swap is not really worth while, but the way I look at it, I may not get is far out of the same volume of propane, but soon it will be almost half the price as petrol. BTW, I believe your buddies 120l worth of tanks would only be filled to 80% capaicity (correct me if I'm wrong) so in reality, he would have only had approx 96l of propane.

Cost of your guys' day of fun:
Propane - $0.52 x 72l (3/4 of the propane tanks)= $37
Petrol - $1.00 x 30l (1/4 of your tank) = $30

I know you'll go through a tank of propane faster (who cares, it's cheap), but before too long the cost of petrol will be too high not to seriously consider this swap.

True, and "Empty to Full" on Bronco fuel guages is only 100 litres, so........ :D

Another thing is that buddy can't tag along on a lot of the longer back country trips where there are no propane stations.

I was going to make the switch over 7 years ago, but could barely justify it. Was going to take about 5 years just to pay for itself. Gas may be more expensive now, but this happens every summer. Glad I have a daily driver now.

If you wanna drive to Vancouver, buddy may have his system for sale in a few months.

Dad has a dual fuel setup on his 95 F-150 351.It works pretty good.It is actually cheaper this way.You can double your oil change intervals because propane burns clean.Exhaust ha not been replaced yet.Truck has 430000 on it now.Does not use oil either.Dont switch a straight propane vehicle back to gas it wont last long.If switching to propane get a cooler thermostat installed as you may burn the valves out.
