I had alot of trouble with the srpings under my 78 and 79 cracking and I kept replacing them with 78-79 springs from the junkyard. Well after a while the junkyard ran out of the 78-79 springs. So, after doing some measuring and comparing it turns out that any springs from 78-96 will interchange...pick-up or Bronco......as long as the pick-up springs came off a 4x4. 2WD springs are 2.75" wide and 4x4's are 3.25" just like a Bronco. I have a set of 86 springs on my 78 and a set of 92's on my 79 and they ride as good or better than before. Plus, since going to the later model springs I haven't had any more problems with the leafs cracking. Hope this helps. :mrgreen:
